  1. Amazing that he came to Villa as a wingback, hes a total liability defensively.

He's not that bad, remember him doing a job on Hazard, but then the following week got taken to to the cleaners by Arnautovic.

  2.

Bacuna misplaces a pass, he's crap, Delph or any of the other midfielder misplace it, unlucky guy. Bacuna never stops running for the side, people say he can't cross, though he put in the best cross. What makes me laugh, is when people say give Grealish a run, he needs 5 to 6 games, I doubt Bacuna has played more than that in a row. Think he needs to play as one of the 3 in CM, as he drives at the defence and tries to shoot.

The fact Bacuna can't control the ball means I'm not rushing to give him more starts. He was one of, if not our worst player on Saturday.

Controlled it well enough for the goal, so it can't be a fact can it.

  4. Remi Garde - Turned down Newcastle as he doesn't want to work until the summer....

February in brum is very underated though.....

As that's the only time he will be allowed to take his coaches from Lyon to work with a new side.

  5.

    Reading Richards Cryptic messages

    • Has Links to Arsenal
    • Will be appointed quickly (currently out of work ?)

    ..........

No one springs to mind ???

Remi Garde as used to play for Arsenal and Wenger rates him highly.

He left Lyon as manager and without a club

Will only take over in summer, most of his coaching staff are still with Lyon.

  6. For now, they are in charge of the first team and must prepare us for the cup tie with Leicester..

Depending on how the manager hunt goes, maybe they will also be at the helm for the important game with Stoke, and perhaps beyond that.

Can't say I really know much about them.

Can anyone fill in a bit of detail about their backgrounds and how they have been working with the squad so far?

First-team coach Scott Marshall and goalkeeping coach Andy Marshall will continue to prepare the squad for Sunday's FA Cup tie with Leicester Citylb_icon1.png at Villa Park.

The club would also like to place on record its thanks to Paul and take this opportunity to wish him every success in the future.

The club will announce a new manager in due course.

They will continue to prepare the squad not take charge of the team. Usually they would say that they will take charge of the team until a new manager is appointed.

  7. I think wed have heard a whisper if he was going....it can only be apathy from Lerner and fox that is keeping him in a job

We will know soon enough, I never expected him to be sacked immediately anyway.

  8. Probably nothing, i know William Hill and Skybet were 1/3 and 2/7 in the betting.

Pappy Power were evens, but within an hour they have cut the odds to 4/11

    Now thats interesting.

Interesting in what way? Really wouldn't read much into betting. Remember Bob Bradley being favourite for the job.

  9. I quite like Paul Lambert in all honesty - I think he's genuinely honoured to be at the helm of our club, has handled all the uncertainy over the club's future with integrity and finally assembled a decent squad.

However, no matter how much I would like him to succeed here, I just can no longer see it happening.

Something is 'wrong' at the club, be it from the top down and the apathy has leeched it's way on to the pitch, where no one really seems to care (barring the fans)

I feel we can no longer just bimble along 'hoping and reassuring ourselves' that all will be ok.

A change is needed and the only change that is viable and can be immediately effected is replacing the manager.

I have no idea who would want to step into his shoes considering the current predicament the club find themselves in though...

Exactly where I am. Think all of the personal abuse is unneccessary.

  10. He'd have gone today if he was getting fired, he's staying trust me

That's not true, I don't think Villa will want to sack him, as Richard said it will most like be mutual which means a settlement figure will have to be reached which isn't as simple as just sacking him. If he had a year on his deal left, then possibly it would be done like that but the guy has 4 years left.

  11. He is not the biggest problem ,  the biggest problem will be picking the next fall guy

Cowans will step into the breach no doubt. Anyway think the Mail have definitely heaped a load of pressure on the shoulders of Fox, he either has to back or sack him this week.

If Lambert really is liking what he is seeing from Cleverley then its no surprise we are where we are really.

Or its a manager who has just seen a player booed by his own fans, sticking up for his player which is to be expected.

But still plays him every week and thus really must like what he's seeing?

He's seeing the same as all our midfieders do the same thing. Get it pass it backwards and sideways, repeat.

  14.

You never boo your own... It's funny Delph gives the ball away to Remy, he did the same against Liverpool, it's ok Delph we like you. Cleverley gets blasted for passing to his own player.

With all due respect, Delph just committed his long term future to the club and had one bad game, Cleverley didn't even want to come here and has been woeful all season.

The booing is entirely understandable, I can't wait 'til he's out of here

Then why is he here? If he didn't want to, he could have easily done a Ricky Lambert but decided to come, whether that is just for this season then so be it. But while he puts on the shirt whether we like it or not, we should support him, not boo him, completely ridiculous IMO.

He's struggled for a few matches and the knockers are on his case. This guy is class, and will come good again. Even struggling for form he scores class goals such as the one against the Mancs. If Gabby is the alternative, then give me Benteke every time. Simply has to play against Hull.

If only other players got the amount of time some are willing to give to Beneteke..

One thing I can never have a go a Wiemann for is his work rate.  His technical skill and quality yes, but never his work rate.

Benteke on the other hand?  He's barely moved for the last 5/6 games.

I hope it is a confidence thing, but he needs to do more for the team as it stands.

If its work rate you want, then perhaps we should play a bricklayer up front. Some of the greatest players in history rarely looked interested until you were picking the ball out of the net. Can't knock Weiman for lack of effort, but after a promising start to his career, he does seem to have fallen short of the player we had hoped he would become. Neither player deserves to be  pilloried yet. Gabby, on the other hand, has been crap for years.

He is nowhere near the greatest, however take his recent games, he just hasn't look interested, where is the Benteke that demanded the ball? Get angry, he's lost form and maybe injury is catching up with him, but it's about finding the CB of old. We do seem to find excuses for our favoured players.

Think he did well against Cheslea, Felt the fans booing at the start of the game was quite frankly disgraceful. You never boo your own. He hasn't been great while he has been here but neither have the rest of them, we do have a tendency to find a scapegoat. It's funny Delph gives the ball away to Remy, he did the same against Liverpool, it's ok Delph we like you. Cleverley gets blasted for passing to his own player. Okore was unlucky with the goal conceded, however i wonder if that was Clark would we be so forgiving?

I sometimes wonder whether it's because he arrived as Man Utd's scapegoat, despite being far from their worst player. If he had arrived as a more popular figure ala Darren Ferguson...despite not being as effective now, he'd have been received better by some of our fans.

There are 3 certainties with Villa fans:-

    1) Every bad spell we have, there is a clear and identifiable scapegoat (depending on the flavour of that particular month)

    2) Any injured or dropped player's worth inflates 10 fold  for each game they miss, untiil they return, and we realise why they were dropped/they weren't THAT good

    3) We identify a particular hero, who can do no wrong until it looks like they might leave.

    *edited typo of Ferguson's name.

The BBC must be looking for a scape goat for us as well then because on MOTD they singled him out for how he does the easy pass and doesnt try to create anything, hence why we arent scoring goals.

Pretty sure I could find clips on the rest of our midfiled doing that. It's not hard.
