A draw here, cannot see us breaking our win 3 league games on the bounce.

If we beat swansea - we are (IMO) 1 win away from safety. 35 points was enough last year - 34 would be squeaky bum time - but I reckon would be enough. Burnley seen to spring the odd result - but so far don't seem able to win on a regular basis......heres hoping....
Swansea have absolutely nothing to play for - that said no manager sends his team out to roll over....The highest place team weve played under Sherwood.....
Stoke are the highest placed.

I don't think it is. Sunderland were doomed under Poyet. They are absolutely dreadful.
A bit like us under Lambert, they're squad is not as bad as their performances make it look.
I think we'll do enough regardless, but always better to have teams down there worse than you.
If I remember righly, they were doomed under the previous manager...just got a slight injection from the new manager. think they're just basically shit, and hopefully continue being shit lol.
The slight injection is all they really need though.
They'll be in the same position next season, but very short term that could work for them
I'd agree but they are a very poor side, not saying we are great but we had players who can make a difference, you look at their squad and without Adam Johnson it's very light in terms of imagination.
-
I can't remember a game where he was terrible in defense? His pace and strength usually dig him out of holes.
His genuinely poor games could be counted on one hand last season.
Agree with that, people only seem to remember the Stoke game for his poor defensive performances. But forget the week before he kept Hazard quiet, but that'll be down to luck and the Stoke performance was down to his normal self.

He, Weimann and Sanchez taken off on 45mins, Grealish remained on and scored.

He's in U21 game against WBA today along with Sanchez, Weimann, Grealish and RHM.
-
2-0 Sunderland
-
He dived and got caught doing it, deserved booking. He does sometimes go down too easily for my liking.
-
If we stay up this deal is as good as done.
-
Senderos and Baker were together against Liverpool and City.
-
Yeh good on that one but it was more the U21 lads I.e. Webb, Lewis, Kinsella, Calder
-
Clark doesn't seem to like Leicester at all, he smashed Ulloa earlier on at VP, got sent off at their place and absolutely destroyed Schlup. Think he's doing it for Albrighton.
-
I don't agree, It's like he wants all day on the ball and then he goes and does something silly. And usually when he does do it he's the last man back apart from the defence leaving us vulnerable.
Don't agree the reason why he dwells on the ball is because no-one wants it from him, thing with Sanchez he will not just be a sideways pass, he wants to try and play it forward. He makes mistakes but he has shown what a big player he can be and will continue to be for us.

Busy morning. I can confirm that our owner arrived early this morning, presumably to shake hands with his new manager

I should add, short visit, leaving this afternoon!

Being so bad in the first half makes me think that we're going to need some new coaches too.
I agree
Sherwood really needs his own guys. Thanks to Marshall and everything but what's left of the previous dire regime needs to go
Clean slate all round
Whilst I agree generally, Sherwood is a highly regarded coach. If they are happy and able to follow his instructions then for the short term I'm happy to keep them on. They'll need somebody other than the boss!
I understood that he didnt get involved in day to day coaching with either the youth teams where he had a academy director role or with the first team where Ramsey undertook those duties - in what sense is he "highly regarded"?
He was initially a youth coach and a coach for Redknapp, he was then given the academy director role by Levy.
-
I think Scott will be replaced and Andy Marshall will be kept on as his former role of a Goalkeeper coach.
