  1. Naz I do have some sympathy to an extent with your view

But lets remember without his contribution we would no longer be in this league.  We sell him we need to replace that in terms of goals and threat.  He was our biggest threat and the one that scared other teams.  That needs replacing

Now sure we may replace some of that with a change of style,  and it may work,  or it may not we do not know what we do know is we will be losing our biggest goal threat.

For me far better to improve the team around him and retain his services so while Im with you in terms or no one player is bigger than the club Im a little more pragmatic in terms of how do we replace that quality and in fact improve on the quality if we want to improve the team.

Agreed but when CB doesn't turn up neither does the team, really we need to change our style with or without him in the team.

  2. There is a new work permit regulation in place.

The new system, though apparently easier at first glance, is much more structured and based on clearer criteria.

For a player such as Firmino, whose national team Brazil is ranked in FIFA's top 10, then it is enough to have played in 30 per cent of games in the last two years.

Though Firmino only made his debut last year, if he plays on Saturday that would mean he would have made 10 appearances out of the 32 games Brazil have played in the last two years, representing 31 per cent of games.

The criteria changes for lesser footballing nations. So for countries ranked between 11-20, you have to have played in 45 per cent of games; from 21-30 it is 60 per cent; and from 31-50 it is 75 per cent.

If players don't meet the requirements the club can appeal.

If only the rules where like they are in Germany - where players outside the EU can join a club given that they have a clean criminal record, accommodation and can support their family with their wages. So basically no restrictions.

Senegal are ranked 36, so he will need 75%, I think he fell just short of it from a previous poster,so on appeal he should get it.

  3. The midfielder is LOSC Thursday in Birmingham England to visit the facilities of Aston Villa and negotiate a transfer. LOSC and the English club have already agreed on the amount of compensation that should rise to 10 million.

It's not official yet but Idrissa Gueye is about to become a "Lion", that is to say a player Aston Villa (Premier League), one of two clubs in Birmingham. The Senegalese international visited yesterday the facilities of the 17th and first non-relegation last championship. He was impressed with Villa Park and seduced by the speech of Tim Sherwood, the manager of the Villans. Unless a turnaround, so it should join Aston Villa for the next four seasons. Aston Villa and LOSC have agreed since Wednesday on the modalities of the transfer with compensation of € 10 million for the repurchase of three years of player's contract. Jonathan Delaplace is also on departure. He will sign a contract today in Caen four years. The transfer is estimated at € 600,000.

These cash flow in addition to transfers of Kjaer (€ 9 million) and Diaby (€ 2.5m) serve a dual purpose.

They allow the LOSC to honor its commitments vis-à-vis the DNCG having sold at least € 15 million players to enter the last year. After purchases Bauthéac (€ 2 million) and Kanon (€ 500,000), the leaders have to buy an envelope full of young people for the future. Yesterday they officially arrived Sehrou Guirassy, an attacker of 19, from Laval (34 games last season, 7 goals). LOSC confirmed an agreement for the next four seasons. He paid € 1 million to delight the nugget to the nose and the beard of other clubs, including St. Stephen who did the forcing to the end in this case. Guirassy is currently in training camp with Benjamin Pavard for Euro U19, which starts Monday.

  4. The Daily Mail are trying to save face by running the Southampton and Marseille story, the morning of the day it came we had agreed a fee they ran an article stating they were in the race alongside West Ham, and not a mention of us.

It'll be done, and announced shortly I would imagine. Gueye and Praet into our midfield would definitely add quality.

To be fair they did mention us and were the first ones to say we had outbid all parties.

  5. Just to clarify his agent situation, the guy in the photo is Thierno Seydi.

When the move to Marseille was almost done, according to L'Equipe, the player was represented by Bouna Ndiaye.

However a late and dramatic twist occurred when he changed his management to Thierno Seydi - the agent of Chelsea legend Didier Drogba - who lined up a move to Villa instead.

  6.

That's his agent, who I assume has been in Bham and was collecting him from the airport.

His agent is white and from Scotland, willie mckay or something like that

Thierno Seydi and Pierre Frelot are his agents as mentioned in the French press, they represent Drogba too. He has recently changed to these agents to get a move to England, as his previous agent wanted him to move to OM.
