I really feel for Delph and I can see why he would want to get away from Villa and, more significantly, McLeish.

Im not 100% sure but i believe we paid 8Mill for him from leeds in 09? i dont think he is any better than the youngersters we have now, Gary garnder-better prospect,Bannan-better prospect... I really hope when he comes back from leeds a different more confident player.. but Tbh he just doesn't seem to have a position, i mean he is a CM but what type?

I think to judge him fairly he would need a good run in the side tbh..and Herd is clearly injury prone so cant rely on him at RB, which is a shame because i like his as a player..much better than delph IMO.

Personally I would not sell bannan , he is the same age as delph and that sums it up really, Great vision,great pass, and he has still got time to develop his teqnuie and passing game, because he is only 22. and its not like he is going to lose much pace... i think he will turn out to be a great villa player in the next couple of years...really hope we keep him. Also at least he tries to be positive going forward with his passing, thats what bent needs players that have a vision for a pass.. Great player IMO, and I think it woul be very foolish to let a player for his potential leave. I mean whne you look at is we shelled out 8Mill for Delph (22)and bannan(22) has come up through the academy, and is a much much better play.. Delph will never be as good as bannan.. ( and im not saying anyone on here is saying that).. Just in CM he is top class potential player..

Yeah that would be a great idea if we were playing well and people would want to come and watch the garbage that is currently being displayed under McLeish, i like it if it doesn't cost too much money because we really could do with some re investment On the pitch, too get the crowds back. what are the average crowds at VP? when compared to the size of our stadium already. they are just desperate to get the crowds back and its not going to happen with McLeish and that dire thing he calls Football.

Ireland is worth about 8mil tops as it stands. If he continues his form and finishes the season strongly then he could go up to about 15mil but I cannot imagine a situation in the future when he'd be worth any more than that.

True to a degree, but with clubs like City you know they have money and can afford to take liberties, unless its ashley young sitauation were the contract is going to be up.

Im not saying he is worth £25m now, but what i am saying is that we all know (even tho some on here will not/refuse to admit it) there is a £25m player in there somewhere, and judging by the signs it may well be about to step out from the shadows.

yeah he has clearly got talent, he doesnt deserve the stick tbh. he has been one of the better players of recent, but that isn't to hard in this villa team, but still I hope he can become the player he was when he played for man City.

Anyone still expecting z'nog to be an ashley young/downing type player are truly nuts, he hasnt got a good delivery.. but he does have the ability to be his man, i think playing him behind the stiker and giving him no defence duties, then you would see the best out of him, this is what he did at wigan floating behind the stiker....he needs a free role
