Also lets not forget that MON did not inherit one of the leagues best stikers... But a better defence..AM had money to buy N'zogbia and look how well that has worked out for him.. And i re-call Ashley young was about the amout of money right? Simple fact is McLeish struggles to get the best out of players. We are seeing it with N'zogbia... if he was playing for MON i think he would be doing alot better.

yeah id agree with this.. MON is just a much much much much better manager, no question.. His ability to get the best out of players far surpasses AM.. MON makes players better than they really are. or just makes them believe they are, and hey it did work..but i think whwen the players looks at AM they have no respect for him.. Hes lost the dressing room, and his time is over.. he needs to go.

In what universe are we better? Its the equivalent of having DOL as manager and ellis as owner, But McLeish as manager and Lerner as owner.. We basically have done a massive circle. and ended up no better.

Personally I don't think Lerner needs to go and I think he is certainly well meaning in his efforts to make us successful. After all he has an awful lot of money tied up in us so I can't imagine why he would want us relegated. All Randy needs to do is employ a decent manager.

I think it would be stupid to tempt fate, im pretty confident we will stay up.. But with McLeish in charge, really how confident can one be.

We played on the counter most of the time under MON. The reason it don't work no is we had a good back four to soak up pressure, we had Milner and Barry who could keep the ball and pace on the wings. That is why counter attacking football worked

OK McLeish is not playing to our strengths but that is maybe to cover other weaknesses we have. Our full backs need help and to be fair to Albrighton he is not the best at defending

I really do think without some investment any manager will struggle, We have a unbalanced side. Weather McLeish will sign the right players is another matter but he needs a chance to have his own players and not use a squad which has been created by 3 managers in 3 seasons, all with different ideas on how we should play and what players we should buy.

What happens if we sell all our players, being in Mcliesh own players and he fails and get sacked.. we will be stuck with crapper players then before he arrived,

look at N'zogbia for example, he is not performing and he was Mcleish's own signing, now imagine a whole team of them... Giving McLeish could spell the end of villa in the PL. Any lower than 9th will be a disappointment this season. Its looking increanisgly like than we will be hovering around the relegation zone. McLeish is not right for this club, just like Juande Ramos was not right for spurs, But was a great coach for Sevilla... McLeish is not the right coach for Villa. he doesnt suite our play and there is no point forcing McLeish and Villa, because it won't end well. He needs to go. but he is just the start of the Problem at AVFC.. If Lerner is not going to invest any more money in players, then i think there needs to be change.

I would go for a 433 and forget this 442 non sense, with the 3 in the middle of the park being, Cm-Petrov,CM-Ireland,CM-Gardner... with Agbonlahor on the left cutting in on his right foot, Nzogbia on the right cutting in on his Left foot or swap them to and bent up front on his own.. I think this would be quite a good team.

And don't blame him, it was Mcleish tactics, 10 men behind the ball until the last 2 mins, then we start attacking, yeah great tactics McLeish... He sucks creative players dry.. If we had messi and ronaldo in our team, they would struggle. Don't judge a player on 1 game. judge him over the course of his career.

Thats made my monday thank you.. I didn't actually realize this.. I guess because of the constant doom and gloom because we have a manager that will never finish above 14th. I mean anything could happen now, but i still believe we will finish closer to the drop zone than to 8th.
