I like Clark as captain. I think he's a good organiser when played next to Okore.

Got a feeling....dont know why, but Cleverley to score today....its about time he done something useful!
-
Does anyone think that there may be clause regarding leaving if we are relegated....just asking!
-
Great news. Should be made club captain once concrete Ron gets shipped out!
-
If we are selling Delph in this window I would prefer it to be in a swap deal othersise we will be short of numbers. If Spurs want him so badly then lets see who they are prepared to give us in exchange!

I regret to inform VillaTalk that Darren Bent has scored against Chesterfield.
In b4 the "why isn't he starting for us?"
He is not starting for us because he is crap, not to mention lazy. One of the laziest footballeys ever. Chesterfield.....thats just about his limit these days.....even our forwards might score against them, on the other hand!

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-tottenham-lining-up-5031318Aston Villa and Tottenham lining up moves for Crewe goalkeeper Ben Garratt
23 January 2015 05:00 PM John Cross
The 20-year-old former England youth international is regarded as one of the best goalkeeping prospects outside of the Premier League
Crewe keeper Ben Garratt is a January target for Aston Villa and Tottenham.
Former England Youth international Garratt, 20, has already established himself as the club’s first choice and is one of the best young keeper prospects outside the top flight.
That has attracted major interest from the Premier League and both Villa and Tottenham are trying to snap him up this month.
Villa are looking for a young keeper as long term competition for No1 Brad Guzan while Spurs are also in the market.
This will finally solve our goalscoring problem!

Clark was a one match suspension for 2 yellow cards wasn't it?
That would be my team as well, except that, I think Clark is still suspended!
I'd prefer Weimann up top with Benteke and Bacuna on the right.
I can understand that with Gabby and we could play Grealish or N'Zogbia there I guess - but it looks like Grealish will be going out on loan and I don't think N'Zogbia is going to give us any more that Gabby so I'd leave him in there and see if Gil can get anything out of him. I'd be happy with Grealish there if available.i wouldn't start gabby but like the rest of the team obe.gil has to start and be allowed a free no.10 role.bournemouth will knock the ball around, dare i say that it could be a good game if we go for it.
Guzan Hutton Okore Clark Cissokho Sanchez Bacuna Delph Gil Weimann Benteke
Sos, I think your right (hopefully)!

Is Darren Fletcher cup-tied and are we trying to sign him?

This game will turn our season around. A comfortable 2 or 3 nil win and into the 5th round. Will do our confidence alot of good with this convincing win!

Much better today, but alas no points and no goals. Clark's sending off last week may just have cost us this game. Baker and Okore have never played together and it really showed in the first half when Liverpool could, and should have been out if sight. Only criticism of team selection for me was playing Cleverley! He clearly doesnt want to be here and the feeling is mutual!
Sanchez, Guzan and Hutton all had good games IMO. It has to be said that whenever Lambert has paid over 3mil or so he has bought well......Vlaar, Okore, Sanchez, Benteke and going by the 30 mins that we saw of him....Carles Gil.
If we can replicate the todays second half performance, and with a couple of additions I thing we will start picking up points(and goals) again.
Randy, just 10 mil please!
-
We should just raid any league in the world for anybody called Carlos (or any variant)
Does that include the chef that used to star in crossroads?
-
kill all the agents.
kill them now
Does this include the Avon Lady?
irrelevant useless scum.

My sources tell me that this signing may not go ahead.
Fox TV are claiming that ONLY muslims are allowed in Birmingham.
Its a real shame as he looks pretty useful!

Jesus Christ. Take a look at the accounts ffs. Randy isn't pocketing the Sky money or anything close to itThe perfect job being 'keep us in the PL on a shoestring whilst Randy pockets the sky money every season
Jesus Christ?.....its Jesus Navas we need

Chris Coleman....He's mustard

Whatever, we cant afford to employ 'another yes man' as lets be honest, that's why Lambert is still here! Herein lies the problem. Why would Lerner sack someone who is doing the perfect job for him? The perfect job being 'keep us in the PL on a shoestring whilst Randy pockets the sky money every season. I'm afraid this will continue until Lerner recoups most of his money. Sad state of affairs, I know, but thats it in a nutshell. Its either that or we go down and Lerner takes a hit on a potential sale. Not too much to look forward to then!

I said this earlier on Twitter and quite a few people agreed with me;
Laudrup with Martin Laursen as his no 2.
Agree with this 100%

BBC: Lambert, "we were very good with the ball"
Errrrr ..... really ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think he means in the warm up......then the opposition turned up
-
Sorry I mean third. On a serious note though. Everybody was absolute shite today! Wtf is going on? So embarassing to watch!
I dont think Clark was shite.....if he had been shite a more realistic score of 4 or 5 nil would have been the outcome!
-
I just dont care anymore.....52 years a fan, home and away and this is the worst era for me. FFS, I got more pleasure when we were languishing in the 3rd Division. At least we knew then that we would always come back, and we did.
I sense and fear a Leed United scenario is on the cards! If we go down it will be years until we get back IMO.
Another, goaless, gutless performance has once agained ruined my Saturday evening!
Lambert's post match interview will be interesting. At least we now know what influence Roy Keane had on the team...ill discipline!!

Absolutely disgusting performance. Richardson for Sanchez is the final straw. The manager does not have a clue!
We are lucky not to be losing by at least 4......pathetic! The number of times that Hutton has been free down the right with no one to pass to.
Lamber AND Lerner HAVE to go!
-
...and there it is.
It's been a pretty even half in terms of overall play - the difference is that they've created four reasonable chances to score and we've created none. If we were a normal football team, this would be an even game, we're not, we're freakish, I've never seen a team (and I don't just mean a Villa team) that looks so unlikely to turn overall play into goals.
Even my arse...Leicester could well be out of site by now. Pathetic first half performance!
