  1. At long last.....people are turning on Lerner.....the guy has ruined our club and, as usual the coward is nowhere to be seen!

I am beginning to hope that we go down so he loses loads and loads of dosh!

  2. It would be typical Villa to get the books in order and then get relegated

But having the books in order is excellent news if we are relegated.

I think you'll find 100's of thousands of fans that wouldnt be too thrilled by that consolation.

It feels like paying off your 35 year mortgage only for your wife to kick you out on the street and move her fancy man in!

  3. As I said in another thread. We were estimating EBIDTA of £17m - so way off.

Do you know what EBITDA is? Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation. So it could well be absolutely spot on.

Lol....I only recognised two of those words (vaguely).. can I please have an accountancy lesson? :)

  4. Would start him every single game over Gabby.

At least there is the promise that he might just provide that bit of match winning quality.

Exactly. Although not playing great, Zoggy still offers twice as much as Gabby. Gabby has the worst ball control that I have ever seen in a professional footballer.

  5. GG is a very good player and would probably be a regular in the team by now if it wasnt for his injuries. Villa, through and through and seems over his injuries. Really hope he gets a good run in the team!

  6. Another gutless, spineless performance from a gutless and spineless team

i am not having a go at Sherwood but I have always questioned changing managers this late in the season. Lambert should have been fired at XMAS and the new manager handed a decent transfer kitty. I believe that Lerner/Fox left it late so they diddnt have to spend in the January window. Sherwood will now become the new puppet for Lerner.....keep us up without spending cash. That leaves Tim a really difficult, if not impossible task. By rights, all our anger should have been directed at Lerner! Sherwood needs to become yet another 'miracle worker' whilst Lerner escapes the considerable flak that he deserves after 4 years of underinvestment! Please Mr Lerner, give us back our club!

Right I'd take relegation if it guarantees that Lerner goes!

Lerner cant sell the club now, he is gonna have no chance when we drop to the championship. Who is gonna pay his asking price? We go down we are stuck with him and I really see no light at the end of the tunnel!

I hope Lerner goes bust...he deserves to!

  8. Can't understate how massive that loss was today. The nature of it has ruined all the good spirit of the week.

There were some positives going forward, but that was a patched up Stoke team and it had to be a win. I cannot see us recovering from that result.

We'll draw v Newcastle then get thumped by the obsessed ones (who themselves are a very poor side) - I'm sure of it.

I didnt find it that much different to any other game this season....you could say, same old, same old!

  9. Is this yet another manager who selects Gabby regardless of how poor he has been playing?

Fresh start for everyone under the new management maybe?

Yes, thats fair enough, but Gabby has been poor all season. I doubt if he can turn it on just because its a 'fresh start'.....I simply dont think he is capable of producing good performances consistently...but I hope I'm wrong!

  10. Just as long as Lerner doesn't think we can get by on just using youth. Sherwood did well with some of the youth at Tottenham but if ours aren't good enough then they aren't good enough, Sherwood and Macdonald don't have magic wands. Although It'll be nice to see Robinson, Grealish and a few others perhaps given more of a chance beyond this season.

Can we recall Robinson if needed?

Liking your own posts is a bit weird!  :D

So....i clicked the wrong button....is that a hanging offence now? :)

  12. The fact that they may of been drunk is completely irrelevant IMO

I think you're missing the point Rev is trying to make.

Using drink as an excuse is pathetic....they are adults, responsible for their own actions. So as 'adults' THEY, and THEY alone chose to drink excessively and be racist.....there really is no excuse for racism....if you are so immature that excessive drink makes you racist, then FFS, dont drink as much!

But it isn't excusing it, no one has tried to excuse it, the point Rev was trying to make was in response to someone saying "I don't understand how people can do this".

It's a horrible thing to do, and the people who did are absolute scumbags, but the fact is that being drunk and in a crowd probably contributed to an attitude of "everyone else is doing it, I won't get caught!" that some of them would've had.

Ok mate...point taken. Its just so vile to do that to anyone. I must admit that I lost it a bit as this type of behaviour sickens me!

  14. He'll shake things up,no doubt but tactically he was very naive last season.

Hopefully we stay up and then a big influx of coaches is needed.

Last year, away to Liverpool,he played Bentaleb, Eriksen, Sigurdsson, Chadli,Lennon and Soldado in the starting 11. They got annihilated 4 nil.

I want to be positive and we will get a bounce but he needs help, big time.

Ferguson always had excellent technical coaches like Quiroz, Meulensteun, McLaren, Kidd etc, he needs someone good in a similar ilk.

Well if he can be 'tactically naive' with us and have 59% win rate tthen I will be well happy!

  15. I don't understand how people can do this? Do they think that they will get away doing it? Do they get carried away with the crowd? It just always confuses me.

They had probably been on the sauce all day and humans behave differently when in crowds.   You'd probably find none of them (or hardly any of them) would be like that on an individual level.  Still doesn't excuse the level of arseholery on display here of course, but I don't think understanding human nature is condoning it before anybody accuses me...

  16. He scores goals and creates goals - he could kick it out for a throw in rest of the time, wouldn't bother me.

He is not a bad defender either.

Now here are some players who don't score, don't create ,and are poor defensively who have played instead of Bacuna.

    Gabby

    Nzog

    Richardson

    Cleverly

They have all tried to create and score from attacking wide positions and failed.

If you can't see Bacunas talent - you guys are blind.

Agree with all of this. Bacuna was not used enough under Lambert IMO. lets face it, how many goals or assists do Delph, Cleverley, Richardson, Zoggy have between them? I think Bacuna deserves a good run of games. He is also useful wide right as cover for Hutton going forward!
