  1. There was a lot of abuse aimed at our manager last year for our dodgy defense.

We now have a manager that some have claimed will sure up the defense.....

... except we have now conceded 5 goals in 2 games from corners and simple defensive mistakes.

I'm certain people will blame the quality of the opposition last week and the sending off this week but the simple fact is that our defence is awful - especially from set pieces.

McLeish had better sort it soon.

What about the games before the last 2 were we shit at defending in them?

That's right ignore those and remember 2, makes sense I suppose.

I'm not sure what your point is.

Last season we had clean sheets too (against Man Citeh, even) but it was common consensus that our defense was leaky. Much blame was put (rightly) at the feet of Houllier for that.

Apparently McLeish is a much better defensive coach, yet we are seeing much the same as last year in our most recent games.

Yes - we have had clean sheets too but McLeish himself lamented the poor defending last week and vowed to do something about it. The end result of that was that we did it again yesterday - only against much weaker opposition.

He needs to get it sorted. And now. Are you disagreeing with that?

My point is that your claiming we're going back to old ways after two games, ignoring the previous ones where we were fairly solid certainly better than last year.

So if we had been like last season all this, rather than just the previous two games you would have a point. But as there is a clear difference you don't have a point.

Saying MacLeish is apparently a better defensive coach is nearer here or there, as it's only a few saying that.

Your right thought needs to be sorted and if it continues your original point might have some merit.

  2. Hope there are three worse teams than us come the end of the season. Cheers Randy

I know you crave for attention with posts like these, so dunno why I am even responding.

    Randy.does.not.have.the.money!

I know you like to ignore that and want a new Man City owner to buy us, which would be terrible.

    Jealousy is pathetic whatever age.

    Football.is.not.about.money!

Sooooooo many fans not just Villa ones have forgotten that.

Do you think all other fans in all divisions apart from the top 4 are miserable supporting their club?

Loads of full stadiums full of miserable folk then.

  4. If we win

Makounsgrin: 'Where are all the haters now, our glorious start to the season continues, look what happens when you actually support the team'

    If we lose

Makounsgrin: 'I guess all the haters and boo boys are happy with this result, Its still been a decent start to the season'

I predict one of these quotes or something similar on either page 1 or 2 of the 'ratings and reactions' thread. Its boring as the bloke obviously doesnt go to the games and is a wind up merchant.

Hilarious about as ridiculous as what actually happens.

Villa win: The opposition was shit, we were lucky, we didn't deserve it.

Villa lose: Board out, MacLeish out, we're getting relegated, sell to a multi billionaire, Randy doesn't care about us, we're terrible.

Thanks for singling me out though with a post on poster, I assume that's ok now?

I go to plenty of games and see the above every single time, just have to shake your head.

  5. interesting comment from the US regarding the Browns

"The Browns will never improve until Lerner sells the team to an owner that actually cares about football. Just look at how well the Parcells rental worked down in Miami. Holmgren will be back in Seattle a richer man and the Browns will be in no better shape than the day he took over."

seems it's not just Villa he is holding back then ...

Yes he's holding both back because he wants to not, not because he cannot afford to.

  6. Just started watching dexter and a third of a way through sason 2. Really enjoying it and its great TV but there are huge gaps and leaps of faith needed to believe it

    really, such as?

Yup, Dexter has always been like that though; just fun.

    SPOILERS

Dexter managed to make an old bloke not only have a heart attack with just a pillow but then clear up all the injuries of a car crash previously; never mind the fact that never has a job to do.

  7. Randy Lerner has over 500 MILLION pounds

You think the guy should stick his entire personal wealth into a football team?

    Get out of dreamland.

The guy has already invested a massive amount in the club, he isn't rich enough to spend Man City levels of money, he's never going to throw his entire fortune at the club, no one would.

Err Villa fans say you should, means you should!

Or just sell up to someone who will, oh.

  8. Half a dozen games isn't enough to hide the fact that off the pitch, things are in a shocking state.

    What shocking like Plymouth?

Or shocking like Villa fans making a big deal out of nothing because there is not billions swimming around?

  9. I think you know what he meant. MacBooks are stupidly average considering their price. I have had a MacBook Pro in the past, so I'm not an Apple hater.

I will however never buy an Apple laptop or desktop in the future. Nice OS and all, yet regular computers give you so much more bang for your buck. That can't be denied...

That would be a matter of opinion, Macs cost more because their build quality is much much higher, the OS is better and have dedicated support.

In the same time i've had my MacBook Pro previous i went through god knows how many plastic shitty pc's with all sorted of problems caused by naff windows.

Dell picking up this one to be fixed, or that one various makes.

I didn't want to spend more but decided to in the end, they actually feel like they are built properly as well rather than plastic snappy bits and a god awful OS. Made worse by trying to copy Mac OS in recent years; even tried Linux, but with all the snob know it alls using that it turns out they were wrong too.

  10. Need a new laptop, this thing is falling apart.

I was going to go with a windows as they are 1/4 of the price and have the same spec. When it clunks down and dies after three years, I'll get another new one for £400-£500, or am I making a mistake in not getting a Mac in?

    Nope.

Why spend £1000 on a piece of kit with a fruit on it which will be obselete in 18 months anyway when you could spend £400 on the same piece of kit, without the fruit only for that to be obselete just as fast.......

    Err load of shit.

I've had a MacBook Pro since the unibody was introduced in 08, still going strong, still running the the latest Mac OS, in fact just updated to the new one to support iCloud.

If your going to post something in a specific thread at least know what your on about.

Regarding the OP if your considering a Pro then save a few bucks and get a MacBook Air, they are stupidly fast in real word situations sometimes faster than a lower Pro.

MacBook Pro are for just that pro, large image/video editing etc..
