  1. If Buendia and Ramsey come back fit I struggle to see a place in the squad for Zaniolo.  He'd be 3rd choice on the left, 4th choice on the right and 3rd or 4th at number 10.  I'd just say thanks and move on.  If Frimpong has a release clause in the £30m-ish region I'd put money towards him and a central midfielder, plus a defender on a free (Hermoso).

Hit a bit of a snag here though :(

To bank with Chase, you'll need to:

    • be 18+
    • be a resident of the UK only
    • have a smartphone and a UK mobile number
    • be a tax resident of the UK

I guess I could ask my mum to open it

I use Ford Money, their flexible is 4.6%, I can't see anything about you needing to be a resident but you need a UK bank account to pay into/from.  They've got a German one too.

Why arent Spurs playing next week? Seems really odd at this stage of the season.

FA Cup semi final, I think they were due to play City.  It would've been nice if all the teams in Europe could have had the weekend off too but if we win I'd be glad to have the points on the board rather than the games in hand.

  4. I think he will be incredible next season.  I wonder when he first came to Unai's attention, whether he and Arsenal were interested in him at the time City signed him or it was just a good bit of recent scouting.

Watching match of the day had Bailey not scored then I wonder if  we’d have been given a penalty seeing as the defender went through the back of Torres and made no contact with the ball ?

Us, win a penalty?  Utter madness.

At least MOTD spoke almost entirely about our performance rather than Arsenal's.

Our fans really sound like a bunch of losers on this thread. Should be talking about Spurs and us and how we get top 4. Instead we’re talking about who’s going to catch us.

Hopefully fan mentality can change one day.

To be fair it's mainly one person with one of the most incredibly successful trolling campaigns I've seen on here.

I'm curious what you think he could have done with his arm? It was already in a natural position away from his body. It deflects as he moves his arm further away then retracts his arm as close to his body as possible. It then hits the top of his arm as its by his side. There's no way it's a penalty. Never in a million years is that given against United.

It was the speed with which he blew the whistle that got me.  Reminded me of some classic umpiring from the 80s

Not sure if Barkley would come back tbh but I can't imagine wages being an issue. He's proven this season he can cut it at this level so I'd have him back without doubt. Sure he'll have a fair few suitors though.

I'd still be very cautious that it's not just been a season like Lingard's at West Ham.  The way he gave up when he was on loan at us was pretty inexcusable.

I think it's possible, of course there's a chance the club would consider moving - but for the moment they've said, both privately and publicly that they have no plans to move away from Villa Park and that they see it as our home; now, tomorrow and always. I think it's much more likely that the club would look to try to purchase land around the ground and develop where we are, but again, there don't seem to be any current plans to do this and the club hasn't spoken about doing it, or wanting to do it, either privately or publicly.

For now, and for the foreseeable future, we're at Villa Park - and with the money the club are looking to spend improving Villa Park this summer and the summer after, then it seems unlikely that's going to be changing any time soon. With the Euros in 2028, even if it's what we're thinking about, I wouldn't expect to see a new stadium either in Aston or elsewhere until the mid 2030's at the very, very earliest, and that's a long time away, there's no guarantee that we'll still have the same owners or be in the same position by then.

The plan that makes most sense would have been the North Stand, and without knowing why that was cancelled, it's difficult to predict what the club will do next.

I genuinely think if those people who own SHA actually build that stadium they will be begging for us to buy it before they even play a match there.  I just can't see how they can make it work and it'd just be a white elephant.

  10. He just doesn't look mobile enough for me.  He's had enough time to get rid of any rustiness and settling-in time now and there's been only slight improvement.  As it stands we will have Diaby, Bailey and McGinn as left footers who can play on the right and Unai prefers a right-footer on the left so I don't see any need to sign Zaniolo permanently.

Yes, but it's not Micah Richards guffawing and defending Joanne Lescott, so therefore I'm not buying it.

(Actually, I am buying it, it was ace, that there is proper research, proper knowledge, not just some wanky fop harping on. Why does that kind of shit only normally get broadcast on podcasts and not TV?)

He's often on the TNT Sports Champions League goals show which is great, it's James Richardson and three guys including Horncastle talking through all the games, showing all the goals and incidents as they happen.  Much better than listening to the ex-pros chatting shit.
