  1. Playing decent at the mo. Let's hope we can take this into the second half like we did the other day.

The way i see this season going, we have 8 games to get to 35 points (6 points to go the way things stand), and then we can use the last 6 games to try and get some additional points. I don't think that should be to difficult, but we have some tough battles coming up. At the moment, I can't really see the bottom 3 getting to 30 points too soon, for that reason I think we will definitely be safe. (when you think of it like that, it seems really easy, but, I don't want to jinx it)

Does anyone know how many points Bham had this time last season, and ourselves?

  2. We need to start chanting Superman pretty soon.

Let's go for something a little like this - I used my music skills to come up with these lyrics....

    Shisha Boy loves the Holte

Watch him pass it, watch him go

Watch him crank dat Shisha Pipe

    Then Superman dat Holte

Now watch him move (crank dat Shisha pipe)

Now watch him move (crank dat Shisha Pipe)

    Shisha Boy loves the Holte

Watch him shoot it, watch him score

Watch him shift it into feet,

    Then Superman dat Holte

Now watch him move (crank dat Shisha pipe)...

    Etc etc,.....

  3. im having time off work with illness for the 1st time ever (been working 10 ten years) is it just me or do you feel a rocket polisher when you phone your boss?

im not skiving either! ive got scarlet fever, im not exactly bed ridden but i have tonsils the size of golf balls and covered head to toe in a shockingly itchy rash i cant sleep and its contagious, i'll probably have the rest of the week off and feel really guilty about it

Hell, no. If I feel shit, I stay at home, simple as. Guilty? **** that.

Ive never wasted a good sick day on an actual illness. Sick days are for hangovers and extra holidays. If im gonna be ill, i may as well be ill at work.

Not these days though, no work no money.

I get what you all mean - it's the most weird thing calling in saying your sick - iv had one day of since starting my new job in 2010. I even feel guilty when I'm on holiday!! But that's because I get messages from colleagues asking for help on a couple of things, so I just think sod it and end up going in to the office! (obviously not possible if I'm abroard) Haha...... Geek

  4. How the hell do people know it is definitely Macron? I'm not saying it's not, but what's makes everyone so sure? It could be Kappa for what we know! If Macron do for us what they have done for Napoli I won't feel too bad about it. Nike have been gash last few seasons. I preferred the Hummel ones to them.

  5. Loving Ultimate team at the mo...my stats are quite good... 41-8-19. Made the mistake recently of risking having good players in the line up without sorting out the formations and not taking note of the chemistry. A combination of Honda and Pastore in the CM with bent and gabby upfront and Arshavin and Reyes on the wings.... Wasn't really working so i sold the lot and started building a Holland squad instead.

havnt had much luck with the packs either - I never get anyone good that I can just sell for a lot of coinage.

  6. We're 14th now, behind Sunderland. Game over for Mcleish I'm afraid to say. Next...

Unfortunately it won't work like that will it. He was given the job 6 months ago on a bumber 3 year contract. Lerner and Faulkner for **** knows what reason thought he was the right man then and will think he is the right man now.

What we could do with is a spate of sackings in the Premiership to help plant the seed and make his sacking look more justified. It doesn't help that managers who have been in their jobs sometime, or at least way longer than McLeish, who are struggling in Kean, Coyle, McCarthy haven't and don't appear in iminent danger of being sacked. The media also don't seem to be reporting that McLeish is under pressure.

I would be amazed if McLeish goes before the end of the season and expect him to still be here in 18 months. I would love to be pleasantly surprised though. Of course that then means Dumb and Dumber having to find another manager and as we all know they are **** clueless at that.

Oh no, I'm fully aware that that will not be the case, the hierarchy will persevere for as long as they can get away with. It's cheaper to do it that way. We won't be going anywhere anytime soon, and we cannot expect to see any new signings while we are playing like this and in the position we are in (what a great time to go 14th). Plus Randy has **** us over by allowing dickweed to spend money on crap players who have done nothing for this team, and we can't seem to shift them.

McLeish is definitely here for the long run. Just hoping he remembers how to manage in the championship because it **** looks like we are heading that way!

Everything is a mess. You can probably tell from the tone of my typing that I am angry! - I was backing him 2 weeks ago! How things change after a defeat...

  7. If I am honest, I'd prefer Villa not to sack McLeish. If I am honest, what I'd really like is for McLeish to turn us around and make us a winning team, taking us to cup finals and into Europe on a career with us lasting decades.

Imagine how good that would be, to tell the Noses their manager made us great.

My dream seems to be getting more and more unlikely. I don't doubt that McLeish wants to make us great, I don't doubt he'd have more chance if he had a bit more backing (although I'm scared to give him money to spend)...I've been behind McLeish as much as I can be...

I just wish all the faith I'd shown in him had not backfired like this...sigh...

Yea, instead we got a team that's going backwards instead of forwards, a host of shit players in the team, a manager who couldn't inspire a Beaver to build a dam, and super crap football for us fans to enjoy every game.

We're 14th now, behind Sunderland. Game over for Mcleish I'm afraid to say. Next...

  8. Two things that have **** me right of today-

As soon as I set my sights on a little stat, about 10mins before kick off, I knew this was going to be a total disaster today.

The snippet of information read: The swans have visited Villa park 7 times and have lost all of those without scoring...

Now, you all know as well as I do, that we always have records broken against us, even Routledge scored his first premier league goal against us. Drogba got his 150th Chelsea goal the other day as well.

Secondly, I was a supporter of AMC, I wanted to give him time, and was delighted that we got that win against Chelsea. But, after today, it appears we are simply just competing for points here and there, rather than looking to win every game and get somewhere. How **** dare they give us a shite performance like that against Swansea at home!

I have joined the Mcleish out wagon now and I won't be happy until we are in another transition period... I also want about 80% of the playing staff to **** of as well because they ain't worth the money they earn

I won't be going to another game after that today until some drastic changes are made. Just feels like I'm pissing money away

  9. I think we know where he is gonna end up in the summer.

Absolutely gutted that he is going though.

**** hate the squad at the minute. Decent people that are gonna be leaving, and we have clearings in the woods we still have contracted with us for 100 years.

  10. Indeed. But again, I think it was down to the quality of player that he had at his disposal. I think be brought a lot of crap. Could it have been down to the funds he had available? Did be have a lot of say in who came in even? This window coming up is an important one, because it will show whether or not he has what it takes to actually stengthen the team having had a few months to identify our weak areas. From then, will we know whether he is the right man or not.

I'm expecting us to lose the next two games unfortunately. Iv prepared for that. Anything other than two defeats will be a nice surprise. I want AMC to have January and February though.

These all seem like excuses to me. McLeish somehow managed to get SHA 9th in 2010. No way should they have been relegated in 2011. They went down not because of their squad but because of their lack of desire and fight. We were often criticised as lacking fight under Houllier (which was true sometimes) and I foolishly believed McLeish would at least offer that. However, he hasn't. As far as motivation goes he seems to be worse than Houllier. Unfortunately we rarely ever attack teams either, and our defence is as useless as ever. So far in his Aston Villa career McLeish hasn't really got much right. As I said, he's got all of Houllier's negatives but none of his positives.

Didnt something similar happen to Tottenham though? The only difference being, they didn't get relegated? I put that down to the quality that Spurs had to get them out of their rut. We have better players than SHA had last season and id say this is a fairly poor squad that we currently have compared to what we would/could have had 3 seasons ago. (just thinking about it now- Milner,Young,Downing,Barry - so,so nearly) The squad clearly needs improving as there are some very obvious weak links in the normal starting 11. McLeish changed that on Wednesday and we saw a fairly good display. If we get that team going for a few games we could get some results with maybe the addition of 1 or 2 players to help us out.

I know it's not impressive he got SHA relegated - Twice... But again I put it down to the players he had.

Here's to hoping he buys (or as he likes to say, 'trades') well.

  12. I dunno really - just a hunch. He seems a decent bloke I get the feeling that he WANTS to do well for us. He's frustrated at the moment because we are **** up simple things - I think the reason for the decline is the player quality rather than Mcleish. Obviously he picks the team etc but, ultimately, we don't really have a lot of choice?

We'll see, but... Just a feeling in my waters.
