Remi Garde has risked a Premier League sanction after failing to show for his post match press conference.

Garde conducted his broadcast duties with TV, radio reporters and the club media but did not speak to the written press.

The Aston Villa boss is believed to have got fed up of waiting for Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce to complete his press conference and instead jumped on the team bus to the airport for Villa's flight back to the Midlands.

Because Garde failed to send another representative in his place, he could face action from the football authorities.

  2. I said two months ago that he wasn't the man and unfortunately i was proved right.

We need to stick by him now because he's going to be here until we at least get relegated.

A lot needs to happen at this football club before we get back up into this league..

Starting with the chairman and the board.

  3. Stronger team this afternoon however the result was not good enough.

We need to start preparing for the Championship next season because we do not know how to win and we are going down.

I wonder what players would we be able to keep next summer?

  4. I hope we keep him, because he will contribute a lot of goals that will get us promoted next season.  The defenders in that league were terrified by his strength and size.

The desire is simply not there, it's a combination of players and manager. Of that combination it's the players who need to take most of the 'weight', but the manager is still there to get into their heads and get the best out of them, often, new managers get this sort of response instantly, Garde simply hasn't.

The players have not responded to him, and they won't, if we get relegated we need a British manager that knows the championship inside out. Garde came to this club at the wrong time in his career.

Shame we sold some youngsters such as johnsson ,graham , carrutharers that eiuld make a difference for us there

Agree, i am most disappointed in losing Graham, he would have been useful

  6. Our squad lacks some serious grafters and hard workers, i would take hard work over ability any day. Leicester are a prime example, they all work hard for each other and have a fantastic attitude.

A part of me wants us to be relegated, and get rid of the Gabby's and co then bring some energetic, hard working players that know the championship and have a very strong desire to play for us. We could get some real quality from that league because we would the largest club in that league.

I would also love if we made our pitch smaller so we could play at a higher tempo and really make things difficult for the opposition.

  7. I am very skeptic about Garde and appointing this man as our manager, in this current predicament will be a recipe for disaster.

  8. Slightly feel sorry for him. He had come to our club with the intention of becoming our assistant manager, however is was more to do with Tims pr campaign to woo the fans. He then got demoted pretty quickly to deal with the u-21 squad then finds Ray Wilkins in his position a few months later.  Now that's gone belly's up he has to manage this mess until the next manager tells him that he is not needed..

  9. Garde is not the man that can save us from relegation. People are excited because he is a foreign manager that sounds exciting. Because he is a good french Ligue 1 manager does not necessarily make him a right fit for the club. What players would he bring in January? we need Premier League Experience. Our problem is that we are an easy team to beat because the squad are mentally weak, we need a manager that can make us a difficult team to play against, and give us that ruthlessness home and away.

How much of Remi Garde's teams have you seen?

There seems to be a lot of French Football experts on here all of a sudden. I have no idea if Remi Garde is a good fit or not. And I doubt 95% of VillaTalkers do either.

How many successful european managers have came to this league and struggled?

This is the Premiership, the hardest and most unforgiving league in world football, An experienced premier league manager is required for this Villa Job.

Why do you think managers like Big Sam, Mark Hughes and Pullis are in high demand amongst the mid table sides in this league?

David Moyes is the man to that, we need to get the basics done and start getting clean sheets, we can score goals but we cannot defend. I hope that this pure speculation and that David Moyes is being lined up as our new manager.

  11. The harsh reality is that the players are not playing for Tim. This is the first game that i have seen them really try.

He is unlucky because he has been trying to urge the players on the pitch to attack and play more positive, but he does not help the cause by slating and blaming players in the media.

I would be very surprised if he is still our manager by Monday evening.

We need a Premier League experienced manager that commands respect of the dressing room, tactically astute and has a strong coaching team that can organise the team.

  12. Those that want Sherwood out and another manager to take over this team cannot see the bigger picture. Regardless of who we bring in, Aston Villa Football Club will still have the same problems that they had when Paul Lambert was manager or when Alex McLeish and Gerard Houllier were managers.

Everything starts from the top right down to the pitch, we have a CCO as our CEO that has tried to employ a business strategy into our football philosophy. The best WE can do as Aston Villa SUPPORTERS is to SUPPORT OUR manager and get behind OUR team. Chopping and changing managers and booing our team will NOT help us in this league. Strange that most fans on here were drooling over Tim Sherwoods signings after the Bournemouth game and throughout the summer but now he has lost the plot?

Was David O' Leary right ten years ago when he called us fickle? at this moment he is.

Now is the time to take the good with the bad and SUPPORT OUR CLUB!
