Steve Round reported (not sure which paper, only seen a screen shot of the text, but looks like it might be something like the sun) as being about to be appointed 'Football Director'. Presumably that's the same job as 'Technical Director', he was also apparently at the game yesterday.

I don't think that there is any truth in this. He probably was at the game because we play Derby on sat, and he coaches there.

  2. I genuinely believe that we won't fall short with Tony as our chairman, He is passionate, has the funds and has a no nonsense approach.

I loved how he reacted after the Luton game, he reacted like a villa fan, there was no messing about he said those players are not worth giving another chance. I am pretty certain that he will stick to that as well. The gap between the club & supporters are narrowing and he has played a big role in that already.

    BTW

I would love for us to return to the striped claret and blue kit once we arrive back to the PL, it would signal a new but traditional Aston Villa.

  3. Would there be much better defensive partnerships than Chester and Elphick in the the championship?

Elphick would do the nitty and gritty, Chester would be the one to sweep up the mess, As Doug said he has high intelligence as a defender, so i reckon he could slot in pretty quickly with Elphick and get the basics right.

  4. Seeing these players is painful and deflating, i grew up watching players like Taylor, Southgate and Dion Dublin, real men and leaders and now we have these half hearted players.

MON was the best Manager we have had since Gregory, although he wasted a lot of money, he brought characters into and men into our team. I just hope that we are in transition and that this will become part of a success story of how far we have come from this..

  5. He's toxic to our club, I would go as far as saying that he is does not seem interested in playing football.

A player of his stature would have already tried to seek several moves away yet he's content with being a bit part player and putting in awful performances.

I dislike the way he defends, never seen a player run away from a player during an opposition attack as much as Micah.

He's not premier league quality or even top half Championship quality.

You're basing his ability off a friendly?

Have you never seen him play yourself?

This is not based on my opinion, i'm just highlighting another professional footballers opinion.

I'm up for the signing tbh

  7. We need a group of model professional players and he is one of them.

Pretty concerned about his height though himself and Elphick are similar heights. But i guess if he has a good leap then it shouldn't be a problem

Look in an ideal world we'd all be positive all the time. But its not going to happen. He's not worth the hassle he brings.

    fair enough

    Each to their own

Going to take more than desire to make up for a lack of quality and being a hated player from last year.

Is he really worth trying to win the crowd over? Let's be honest we should be aiming for better.

I'd have grealish or green in ahead of him any day.

Well what's the point of supporting our team if he starts then?

    Backwards mentality..

How can we expect our team to perform well when despite his hard work and desire he going to get booed or abused?

  10. I would love him to score a few because until he does anything significant the fans are going to be against him.

It's a shame because he showed a lot more willingness and desire today than he did last season..

  11. What i don't understand is why was he so good for Forest.

Maybe its to early in the season? Maybe our system does not compliment the way he play?

Didn't he play in the holding role in a diamond formation for N'Forest?

  12. I thought he did well.

Bacuna's problem is that he does not have a set position, so he lacks discipline.

He worked hard, made some decent tackles and gave Hutton the opportunity to create.
