tonyh29
Whilst getting in touch with my feminine side i managed to prang my car the other week and put a big dent in the door needs a new door and the Estimate to repair it is £1100 I've got protected no claims but the insurance company said that they couldn't guarantee future policies prices wouldn't be affected I'm assuming it's not going to push my premium up by £1000 either way and I should just claim it on the insurance but anyone think of any reason why i shouldn't ? BOF Posted March 14, 2012 Moderator Share Posted March 14, 2012 The insurance company will get that £1,100 back (and more). Probably spread over a few years but don't think you'll 'win' financially. Protected no claims is usually a 'step back' deal where your e.g. 6 years no claims bonus becomes a 3 years no claims bonus. Still no claims, but with a smaller policy reduction. If you can, I'd source a door myself through a scrapyard and find my own bodyshop to fit it. Anything to avoid going through insurance.
