lammy123
Hi All, I've seen something similar before but can't find it now, Anyway have anyone of you got any good suggestions for a pub crawl / night out in Bristol. Eg. Where to start/route and where to end up!? And obviously where to avoid. thanks in advance. edit: by the way this weekend!
Danwichmann
Depends what you're into music / pub wise and what night you're going on? The Gloucester Rd crawl is a bit of killer but plenty of fun. Plenty of good places around Corn St, Baldwin St and City centre or head up Park St, Clifton Triangle.
Danwichmann
All the best Friday nights end in Ramshackle at the O2 Academy.
lammy123
into the rock end of the spectrum really to keep it cool for everyone going (for me the heavier the better). I think we'd want to keep the walking down to a minimum - more time for drinking that way. So which bits best? cheers
Danwichmann
Ok, definitely end at Ramshackle if you are out on the Friday. Indie downstairs and heavy rock upstairs. The Hachet opposite is also quite rocky and pretty decent, stop in there for a drink before heading into the O2. Zero Degrees (mirco brewery) just up the Christmas Steps will be quieter, but do some very good beers. If you want more places than that, start by working your way around Baldwin St and Corn St (all the chains such as Walkabout, Weatherspoons, O'Neills, in addition to some good non-chain places like Stop the Bus) or Bordeaux Quay (the waterfront) where you have a whole host of bars to choose from. That's all pretty close to each other, the furthest out will be Zero Degrees but if you enjoy some quality larger in a nice surrounding it's worth it. Still less than a 5 minute walk up Christmas Steps. Bristol is a fantastic night out, exceptionally chilled, so enjoy yourself!
lammy123
cheers for this. We'll be out on Saturday mainly as there's a plan for Friday already, so not ramshackle!
Danwichmann
You could try The Cooler instead (on Park St). Smaller indie club, can be ok, really depends what night you catch it on. If you want something a bit different the Oompahh night at the Bierkeller is a good laugh, very much aimed at the stag and hen market though. Otherwise you can easily spend the whole night in bars without going on to a club (The Woods in open to 4am I think, but you'll struggle to get in if it's a big group of lads) and the bars such as Agora and Yia Mass on Park St are good fun and open late, although maybe not quite your cup of tea musically. Shillzz
Danwichmann has this one covered. Have always liked going for a few drinks in White Ladies, quite an affluent area with plenty of 'trendy bars'. If I'm going for a stupid night out with the lads, it's always Lloyds, Casino and Oceana (just for the cheese room). Clifton is also a lovely place, just stay clear of St Pauls!
