Who's the ISP?   Is it a cable company?  AT&T U-verse?   Do you know if they have cabling to the outside of the house yet?

When we had cable and internet installed a number of years ago Comcast actually brought a new cable from the pole and put in a new interface box on our outside wall.   They then drilled through the wall and extended the cable into the house and attached the modem to it.   Fortunately, our TV was at that corner of the house and we just plugged in our wireless router to the Ethernet port on the modem.

At our previous house we had DSL, which comes in on the phone lines.  I think we just had to use an RJ11 (phone) to RJ45 (ethernet) adapter.   We didn't have WiFi, though (long ago), and just plugged our computers directly in, but I think you should be able to just plug a wireless router into that with a Cat5/5e or Cat 6 cable.
