Anyone playing this? Currently on Steam in early Alpha, and as such it's a bit broken right now, but the concept is interesting.

It's Minecraft + Dayz, with a hint of Fallout. You play on a server with up to 200 (currently) players, starting out with nothing but a rock, you have to gather wood, stone, metal, etc. to be able protect yourself, build shelter, and hunt. Interestingly, when you log out your character is prone, and 'sleeps'. This means other players can loot you, if you aren't in shelter, or that shelter isn't protected well enough.

There's radiation in some areas, so you have to be careful where you traverse, and irradiated 'zombies' during the daytime. It follows a day/night cycle very similar to Minecraft, with the real nasties coming out at night. Players must hunt wild animals during the day to feed themselves, and hunt for provisions and clothing/armor which can be picked up as loot from enemies and other players. Loot can also be found in chests doted around the map.

It uses various status' that the player must monitor to stay alive. There's a radiation count that is increased in irradiated areas and can be reduced with rad pills, or even dispelled entirely with an entire anti-radiation suit. There's bleeding after taking damage, hunger, and cold aswell, meaning you're penalised during the cold of night if your player isn't suited and booted, and if you don't have a campfire.

Because you play on a server with lots of other players (some maybe friendly, some maybe not), all of the structures they build as their homes are visible to you as you play. So most may just have a little shack, but groups of players may erect larger buildings or towers to protect a community of players.

Some unofficial servers are modded, so differ from the vanilla game in that players do disappear when they're logged out, or remove PVP.

Worth keeping tabs on as it would be nice to think that the potential develops in to something really worth playing.
