I think we'll find that Wigan aren't just another Rotherham/Burton. They're a really good side, and that was a tricky game for us today. Delighted with the win, which was always going to be difficult when you chuck in several new players.

If the window has taught us anything, it's that Matt Scott knows **** all about anything Villa related.

It's been funny to watch Bristol City fans revelling in us missing out. Clearly they are still hurt from us putting them into free-fall after whopping them 5-0 last season.

He's a proven Championship player who can score goals for fun. He's going to be vital for us this season if he can stay fit.

I don't really understand the whole situation. The owners have come out and said that he isn't for sale, so clearly FFP isn't a problem (otherwise why would they say that?). Jack more than likely isn't going to force a move, so until Spurs make a bid that we simply can't refuse (£40m+), we just keep rejecting their bids because we don't need the sale.

I'm absolutely dreading Thursday - to see him another club's shirt will hurt.
