football isn't fair

I like what i'm seeing. Dominating the possession, patient in our approach play. Only a matter of time until we take the lead.
-
???
Elmo Tuanzebe Chester Hutton
Bjarnason
Bolasie McGinn Grealish El Ghazi
Abraham

Also, I didn't quite understand the changes.
When Abraham got injured, I just presumed that we'd put Kodjia on. I'm up for giving Hogan a clean slate but Kodjia is so much better than him as a striker.
And then we took Hourihane off. Why not replace Elmohamady or Hutton? We needed Kodjia on the pitch but we shouldn't have taken off Hourihane - one of the few match-winners in our side. That last free-kick, or indeed the corner, would've been perfect for him.
-
I'm not really that concerned about the performance. We had a plan and some of our passing was very good.
It's just the handful of players that aren't very good are really costing us. Nyland started the collapse by coming for that corner. Abraham, our focal point, came off and we replaced him with Hogan, a player that would be pushed off the ball by a shadow.
El Ghazi was good in the little glimpses we saw of him, he needs to start over Adomah going forward. Tuanzebe was brilliant, both defensively and with the ball at his feet.

What did Hogan actually do when he came on? He doesn't do himself any favours.

Faria odds-on with all but one bookie.
William Hill have the odds flipped, with Smith odds-on instead with Faria second fav. Do they know something?
-
Oh no. Moyes is shortening again in the betting.

Just give it Dean Smith

JT as manager on his own would be very underwhelming...
Leaning towards Rodgers or Smith now.

Today just underlined the mess that Bruce has left us in. The style of football, the players' desire, and a truly horrific defence.
I think we're deluded to think that a new manager is going to come in and have us playing good football in the space of a couple of weeks.
This season is already looking like a write-off.

So there have already been two odds-on favourites in the space of two days with Moyes and then Henry today. And now it looks like Faria is about to join them - he was as big as 33/1 just four hours ago.
-
Henry is now odds-on with Paddy Power/Betfair.

QuoteAston Villa are preparing to sack manager Steve Bruce.
Villa have made the decision to dismiss the 57-year-old after a torrid run of one victory from ten games, in a major move by the Championship club’s new owners.
-
I really shouldn't, but I find it absolutely hilarious that Bruce signed two goalkeepers - admitting that one of them he had tracked for several years - only to revert back to the 33-year-old reserve who can't jump up to touch the crossbar.

QuoteSteve Bruce facing two games to save Aston Villa job
Steve Bruce is facing two crucial games as he fights for his future, as Aston Villa prepare to appoint a new technical director.
Bruce has been coming under increasing pressure after a dismal start to the season and needs to win at least one of the games against Preston and Millwall to improve his hopes of staying in charge.

3 points from Swansea, Norwich, QPR just isn't good enough. That being said, another good performance where we were very unlucky to lose.
Football has a tendency to kick you when you're down. Difficult to take.
