Collins (not Danny) looking solid in there tonite.

Just do the same.....soak it up for 10-15mins, then start to rip 'em up!

Can't understand why Downing can't play like that EVERY week.....great touch. Stoke, tbh, did'nt know which way to turn at the end of the half and if we had a bit of luck we'd have killed it off by now. They're a huge team, but they're getting turned inside out by some fantastic wing play. Awesome!

Its actually bloody enjoyable to watch for a change......no passengers. great spirit. GH'll be creaming himself if he's watched the last twenty mins.

Come on.....should be three up by now easily!

Don't like this dwelling on the ball....Stoke are too quick to get on 'em

Go Villa!!

I think our lot might be well up for this one.....places to play for and all that.
2 or 3-1 Villa.

Pompey I agree that in terms of our league position we are in a better position than the 7th-12th stated but in terms of the bigger picture we are further down the pecking order in terms of the revenue we generate the knock on affect being the level that cashflow allows the club to sustain. This is the most pressing concern for Randy and Faulkner to address and one that I believe they are tackling with regards to the new sponsorship and the more exclusive(expensive) seating changes in the stadium. What we should be focusing on is his desire to break the top 4 in the next three years as stated in the press conference. IMO where he wants us to be is far more important than where he currently sees us.
Yes, he gave the distinct impression that he was here to challenge and not just make up the numbers. And I think Europe, in particular the CL, holds a great deal of importance to him in the grand scheme of things.

Happy with what he said. Love the line where when he was asked if the wage bill needed to be cut, he said something on the lines of "Or the income increased", and looked towards Paul Faulkner saying "You might have to ask him though".
Yeah, I got that....pretty quick and snappy remark. Not a bad interview all round, although he'll have to forget he used to be the liverplop manager!! He's Villa manager now.
Sounds focused and realistic though.

He wont pick the team monday surely?
Why not????
He'll be in to meet the players tomorrow and oversee training Saturday and Sunday - I reckon he'll take guidance from KMac but essentially he'll get right down to the job in hand.
I would imagine he'll know most of them, I'll be more interested in HOW he plays them and how that side compares with the team to play Bolton?

Excellent news...at long last!
Welcome Gerard and heres to a succesful partnership........UTV!

They like keeping us all on the edge of our seats.....is it all going to be a bit subdued, or are we in for a few rousing bars of Le Marsellaise!!?
-
Glad its nearly all signed, sealed and delivered.
Initially sceptical, as quite a lot were, but totally looking forward to a new chapter in our history. Could be quite a journey.
Welcome LE BOSS!

Seems like the General is suffering a rather acute case of verbal diarrhea. I think for all concerned he'd be best advised to keep his mouth shut with regard to (over)reacting to every negative comment he reads on a message board. I would have thought that he would have realised by now that it's the negativity of football based forums that keeps the things alive. And as for Houllier getting scared off by a few negative online comments, if he does he's not the man for the job. Time to duck your head back below the parapet General, me thinks.
Agreed. This is embarrassing.
Did'nt like it at all.

The reaction to Phil Thompson from some borders on the pathetic.
To be fair, people are perfectly entitled to think he's a clearing in the woods
He hasn't exactly been complimentary to our club over the years. Including the last few weeks
His loyalty is unquestionable......to liverpoo. Which is'nt putting the guy down, but I think theres considerable concern as to whether he would give his 'all' to the Villa.

Get the ball down and keep it there....this aerial stuff is getting worrying.
