  1. AVFC's inside information is kept tighter than a gnats knackers.

When it suits them, yes. In this instance it suits them. Most of the time however the situation is somewhat different

Yeah - I mean at the moment. Apart from fake press leaks or if leaked information helps. But in this case, no.

  2. There are no ITKs. About 5 people know, and that includes Lerner and Faulkner. There is no "good source" etc. We have no idea who it is until someone snaps a candidate entering an office.

  3. Rumours around Anfield this morning are that they will sign Henderson by end of play today, and by the end of the week will have wrapped up deals for Enrique, Adam, Downing, Wickham and Jones.

With Suarez, Carroll and Kuyt as a front 3, and then Gerrard, Adam, Henderson and Meireles, it would be silly of Downing to think he'd be a first team regular there. Liverpool are building a decent squad by the sounds of things, but Downing needs to be playing every week if he wants to break into the England team as a regular starter.

James Milner needed regular first team football to break into the England team didn't he? Sadly I get the feeling it's all about the cash cash monies.

  4. If Hughes is a highly unlikely outsider according to Matt today in the mail article that basically rules schteve out, who does that leave us with? Benitez.

I cannot bring myself to ever warm to him. I physically despise the man and it'll be crushing if we appoint him. This for me would be the worst point in my entire life as a villa supporter. I can't think of a single person

in the history of the sport I detest more then Rafa **** Benitez.

    Not keen then? :)

The worst point in your entire life as a Villa fan? Talk about getting your knickers in a twist. What about Saunders leaving, relegation to third tier, losing to Doncaster with David O'DearMe or Graham Taylor almost relegating us? I'd hardly put appointing FSW ahead of any of this.

  5. I have to keep believing that Ancelotti is an option. I can't face the prospect of accepting that McLaren is one of the favourites.

Its akin to expecting a PS3 for Christmas and ending up with a Sinclair Spectrum 48K.

What are you talking about? 48k was class...how can you be disappointed with a retro console worth...um...maybe £50 in good condition now (not boxed of course)...Horace goes Skiing, Outrun, Jet Set Willy, JetPak...

What you mean is, considering the scenario of wanting Carlo and getting Wally:

It's akin to expecting a PS3 for Christmas and ending up with a ferret being shoved up your arse.

  6. Don't worry it will happen. Steves probably just working his way through another rosseta stone course.

The mans a proven winner and will be worth the wait.

Feck off you blue nose fanny and get a life

Judging by that chavvy retarded comment I think you should take your own advice.

Someone likes a different manager than the majority and they get abused.

Is there any way I can report this child to the mods please.

They are listed on the right take your pic

You are a nose. Clearly obvious to me and a few others

on here, so take your 13 fingers elsewhere

You don't realise how incredibly stupid you look. You sound like an inbred Norfolk farmer who has seen an outsider in the village you don't recognise.

I have a different opinion than you so you tell me to f-off. Frustrated little facist.

Considering that nothing is going to happen until the end of this week, this has at least cheered me up a bit...and they say we're obsessed with them?

Chin up Valhalla, Brighton away this season!

  7. Steve mclaren is the man to take this club to the next level. He got England playing again and he can get the villa playing again.

I've always thought you were a nose now I'm sure!

I'm not a "nose" I'm just a big fan of steves and I think he could build a dynasty here.

Newly registered and first thing is to say Steve McClaren can build a dynasty here. Mate haven't you got enough on your mind considering Carson Reung doesn't actually have any of the money he said he had?

  8. If we have not approached Ancelotti, just confirms my worst fears about the board. Lerner has a terrible record of appointing coaches and Faulkner has no experience of football. We desperately need a football man on the board, with a better handle on the modern game than GT. McClarens appointment, coming hard on the heels of Young's departure would unleash a firestorm of protest that would drive a wedge between us and the club, undoing at a stroke all the good work that has gone into improving relationships with supporters. If we struggle next season under a McClaren/Martinez type manager then I would expect the first calls for Lerner to go would begin to be heard. Just saying....

How can Lerner have a terrible record of appointing coaches since? MON wasn't a bad appointment for us and Houllier didn't work out, it aint he hasd appointed 6 managers in since he has been here.

Without Randy's money we would not have the expectations we have, Randy has got us there which I think a lot of fans do not appreciate. Lerner is the best thing to happen to our club in a long time.

I would rather have an owner like Lerner that the Venkys at Blackburn. judging by your post maybe you would prefer the latter.

Doug gave Lerner MON as a parting gift

  9. Very good club manager?!

To be fair at Twente he did well although he inherited a fairly decent side as they qualified for the Champions League the season before he got there.

Middlesbrough 12th, 7th, 14th - Nothing spectacular there, considering money and wages Gibson gave out. Cup runs masked a negative team.

Wolfsburg - Appalling. That's the ones that worries me as he had to build a side. That's what he'll have to do here and I just think it's too much of a gamble after last season.

If anything he looks over qualified for the 1996 coca-cola cup winners.

    Nice.

  10. Benitez is a tactical genius with encyclopaedic knowledge of the game.

Zonal marking, 65th min subs and rotation will drive you nuts until you check the stats and see that they all pay-off over the course of a season.

Benitez is a man who lost his second in command and then went on to lose his brains.

That's horseshit as you would find out for yourself if you checked rather than just regurgitating what somebody else said.

Nope, my own opinion. Bugger off back to RAWK.

Also, your post before this saying "you lot" presumably refers to "Villa fans", of which there tend to be a lot on here because it's our **** messageboard.
