  1. Ok seems you like to feel important and in the know and that's fine, but what you're saying just doesn't make any sense and smacks of delusion, especially as you're the only one that believes it. Haven't heard "the peoples prisoner" or whatever once, and I've got family and friends who are Reds living in Liverpool. Strange eh?? This discussion has gone off topic anyway so just enjoy N'Zogbia, always liked Villa, proper club.
  2. Nothing to do with twitter at all! Please explain why EFC would put in a bid for a player then decide they can't get the downpayment together... Don't you think it's a bit odd/??!! I won't bother posting anymore info then....just like everyone else! I don't think it works like that! "Hi this is Davie Moyes I'm bidding £10m for N'Zogbia, using the compensation Everton will get from Villa when I go there" Do me a favour, do you realise how ridiculous that sounds? Moyes does want N'Zogbia, but as Fenerbahce have reneged on the £6m price agreed for Yobo at the end of his loan (they've offered £3m instead), he can't afford anything.
  3. Firstly SHE has a name. It's not from Twitter neither. Moyes was No 1 choice. I know that from months ago, before the end of the season. I was told by someone who has friends on the staff of AVFC. GH was rumoured to be stepping down at the end of the season even before he nearly died from a heart attack. Mat Kendrick & anyone ITK knows Randy Lerner flew to Barbados to speak to Moyes. He wanted to come too... but ONLY if EFC got a replacement. Moyes would never walk out on Everton. Hughes was rumoured to be Moyes replacement, which explains why Lerner didn't even interview him. Who the hell decent is going to come to manage EFC when you ain't got ANY money to spend on transfers??!! Like you say .. Pot ...P**s & all that.. Anyhow when the deal didn't go through you failed to make the downpayment for N'Zogbia. Of course you can dismiss all this if you wish but as far as I know this is pretty near the mark as Bicks has alluded to. McLeish was not No 1 choice but when it became clear Moyes couldn't come then Lerner had to make a decision to appoint someone ASAP. McLeish was apparently on RL's radar when MON walked out. Pat Murphy said as much on Radio 5. I'm afraid all your doing is taking select articles and your own "ITK's" to suit your own agenda. There's loads of other newspaper reports from that time that state, quite correctly, that Moyes was wasn't interested. Also, a couple of well respected Everton ITK's who are normally spot on, backed this up. Why ignore them? If Moyes had wanted to come to Villa, and Villa really wanted him, he'd be there now. Also, the idea that Hughes would be earmarked to take over is laughable, after the way he treated us re Lescott do you think we'd pursue him? And you still haven't explained why we'd buy N'Zogbia with the Moyes comp when no manager would be in place. It's madness. Anyway, as I said good luck for the season.
  4. I know you ain't got any dosh to bid for anyone now. But I am correct I can assure you. #efc were expecting a few million in compensation quite a few weeks ago, however because it didn't materialise because of no replacement they couldn't make the downpayment. Google and read the press reports about the time we got McCleish.... Loads of #efc fans have tweeted about this subsequently as well. Sorry but that's all utter tripe! Compensation from where for what? And fans have tweeted about whatever it is? Maybe that's where you've gone wrong, getting your info from twitter! From us, with regards to Moyes, the move was on the cards but the compensation figure was to high for us. And that wasn't from twitter, that was from sources inside VP So she's saying we were going to use the compensation from Moyes to fund a move for N'Zogbia, despite the fact that we wouldn't have had a manager? That's a good one. I'm afraid Moyes was never on the cards for Villa, he both publicly and privately stated he had no interest in the job, it really is as simple as that. Anyway I think McCleish will do a better job than many think.

  6. I think the poster you refer to above is an Everton fan. ANd they most definitely do not have a pot to piss in! Sadly true, which is why the reports of our bid for N'Zogbia made me chuckle. We haven't bought a first team player for nearly 2 years! The Zog will be in claret and blue next season, hope he does well and you enjoy a better season than last.
  7. Incorrect. We've asked to be kept informed re N'Zogbia, but as we haven't a pot to piss in until we sell players there's no chance of us bidding for anyone. I think he'll do well for you though, him and Given are really good signings.
  8. No we're just going on what's been said by the man himself, not what some nobody on twitter has posted. There is no chance Moyes will leave Everton for Villa, I think that's been pretty much universally accepted by the large majority.
  9. As I've said before, he said he wasn't interested while Houllier was still in post, which is exactly what you would expect him to say. As far as I'm aware he has made no comment about the Villa vacancy since Houllier left, which is unlike him. Whether this means he is coming to Villa or not is another thing, but his current lack of comment means something other than he is on holiday. If he was definitely out of the running he would have made a statement through EFC for the sake of Everton fans. m.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/may/21/david-moyes-aston-villa-denial?cat=football&type=article In this interview, yes Pre-GH leaving, he clearly clearly states he is not interested, even if the job became available which everyone knew it was. He goes on to talk about being very happy at Everton despite contstraints. He's said he's not interested in the job once, he doesn't need to say it again. Show me where Everton have made such a statement? Also you keep saying Moyes stated he isn't going, no doubt you'll point me to something he said in your local rag or something old? Things change in football and i think the sooner you realise that the better, McLeish at the end of the season said he IS staying, guess what he's resigned, Mark Hughes said he was staying guess what he resigned too. Now I'm not saying Moyes, god i'm not even saying he'll be our manager but my point is Villa are in contact with Everton as that's what it's all pointing to in my opinion. I don't want to fall out with you guys but you keep spouting the same rubbish and trying to insinuate Villa are inferior or something that Moyes would turn up his nose at an opportunity, I honestly believe Moyes would want a chance to speak with us whether he gets that is another story and he would need a lot of persuading. We're going on what Moyes has actually said the only time he was directly asked about the Villa job (end of May). it went something along the lines of "I'm not interested anyway, so that's the end of it". That's the only time he's been asked and the answer was pretty straightforward. The rumours saying he's been in talks with Lerner are just that, fed by Twitter and supposed ITK's. Incidentally, an ITK on an Everton board with a very good track record has stated Moyes is definatley not interested. So who's spouting the rubbish? It certainly hasn't come from Everton fans.
  10. He's also been quoted as saying he'd like the opportunity to work somewhere he doesn't have to sell a player every year to balance the books. Our wage bill's already been trimmed and there is and always has been money when needed. How many years has he put up with his current strained situation, he's done the loyalty bit. I'm not saying he's nailed on to want it but I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand If you watch that press conference that was in answer to a question that had nothing to do with Villa or any other job. Whenever he's been asked about Villa he's said he's not interested. I'm not saying he won't leave eventually, but Villa is the wrong club at the wrong time. He'll arguably have to more rebuilding at your club than ours and who's to say Lerner will invest like he has done in the past? Wasn't the Bent money from the sale of Milner? He's got great hopes for this current crop of Everton players, and really feels 4th is in reach.
  11. no he hasnt, they were old quotes Not really, end of May-ish.
  12. A club in debt does not splash out 24million on a striker in January. They said this all along we've got no money hence why MON walked when in reality it was the ridiculous wage bill which was the problem. Everton fans are clutching at straws and sound a bit like Rafa. Randy lerner is in debt to....Randy Lerner. OH the horror, were on the verge of going bust Exactly, the money put into the club comes ultimately from various Lerner family trusts. It always has done. That's very different to owing money to a bank a fact lots of fans of other clubs fail to recognise. Everton openly admit they have no money and Kenwright has talked many times about getting outside investors to back the club. A very different scenario. That's why we could be attractive to Moyes as we can fund a good transfer window. Moyes big problem is every year he has to sell one of his best players to fund squad rebuilding. We do not so the logic follows that good manager like Moyes might have more success with us. I thing Moyes relationship with Kenwright is a bit like Whelan and Martinez and I also think Moyes sees himself as the next manager of either Man U or Liverpool. Liverpool??? Errrr ok. It won't be Moyes I'm afraid guys, he's stated he's not interested and is always saying how loyal he is. Plus I'm not sure how Villa could give him anything we couldn't, your wage bill will have to be trimmed massively after what O'Neill left you with and Moyes has fought tooth and nail to keep the vultures away from Arteta, Jagielka et al, constantly saying how important it is to keep the best players. Unless Lerner said "Here's £100m, challenge for the league title" I just can't see him leaving us for you. I think Hughes would be a good appointment for you, far better option than Martinez or Benitez.
  13. I had to take a closer look at the reasoning behind that post so I went and had a look at the typical Everton starting 11 for the 04/05 season. It pretty much typifies why some aren't enthused by his style of play. It must be one of the most defensive sides ever to grace the PL. A striker who couldn't score and 2 very defensive centre mids and no width. And while it no doubt over-achieved, it did have some quality under-rated and sought after players in their prime like Gravesen. Now you'll say "if he could get 4th with that, imagine what he could do with better", and yet with arguably better sides on paper since then, he has yet to repeat the feat. Martyn Hibbert Stubbs Weir Pistone Gravesen Carsley Osman Cahill Kilbane M.Bent Gravesen defensive? Have you seen him play?! He couldn't defend to save his life, yet because of his stocky build and shaved head a lot of people thought he was a spoiler. I don't think Moyes will be leaving for you guys, there's no point unless Lerner gives him a huge war chest to try and win the league. He already thinks he can bring CL football to Everton so moving to a club who's aspirations are the same would be folly.
  14. I dunno mate, I think you're living on hope rather than expectation there. He looks about the most frustrated man in the world. As you say, 7 years, it can grind you down. At some point he's going to turn round and say enough is enough, I'm good enough to win things. I think you're at that point. I think you're right here, i get the feeling that Everton have just about hung onto Moyes at stages and like you say there is only so much one can take. i'd say if Everton don't get a buy out by the end of the summer or massive investment i can see him walking away. i just hope we are on hand to get him. There was an occasion couple of years ago where he debated leaving, but apparently a chat with Bobby Robson changed his mind. I really doubt think we'll get investment in the near future, which is depressing. I don't want a Sheik or an oligarch particularly, a Lerner Mark 2 would be ideal, steady investment year on year and respects the tradition of the club. Perfect. Jammy gits!

At some point he's going to turn round and say enough is enough, I'm good enough to win things. I think you're at that point. Oh absolutely mate. As an Everton fan that's one thing we're good at! Were he to go, I wouldn't blame him. As you say it must be draining flogging your guts out for a top 6 finish at best.
  16. On Moyes leaving, I don't think he will. He's had no money for the last 6/7 transfer windows other than that he's generated himself from player sales, so he's pretty used to it. No-one could've done much better on the whole during his time with us, but this summer he'll really have to earn his corn and do a bit of creative wheeling and dealing in the transfer market.
  17. 26 goals in 80 games over 4 years. At 11million quid thats a flop imo 21 in his 1st season!! Exactly, great 1st season then an awful injury that has made him half the player he was. So no, not a flop at all. Just bad luck. I think it's been a bad signing in terms of value for money without question but as a result of the injury rather than it being a bad signing or a mistake by Moyes. Players get injured and some sadly are never te same that is just sad fact it doesn't make the judgement on te initial signing a bad one. Yakubu's stats pre injury were good, post injury there poor. So yes you could call it a flop as a signing but not one Moyes should be blamed for in my view. That was my point. Oh for a 07-08 vintage Yak this season. Moyes has made his mistakes (Bily), but the Yak was not one of them.

  19. Shocker That cos she's right, Arteta has never been injury prone. He's had one bad injury and as a result picked up a few niggles on his way back.
  20. No way Rodwell will end up at centre-back. He has the potential to be a top-class centre mid.
