  1. Seriously how stupid are the scum's board. They announce all the managers that turned them down so that whoever does get the job will now they were actually 9th choice for the job and the only manager stupid enough not to turn them down. They really have no idea how to run a football club.

    Birmingham v Aston Villa

    12.30pm, Sunday, Sky Sports 1

The second-city derby is always a very fiery affair.

We see some big derbies in Manchester, Merseyside and North London, but this match runs them pretty close in terms of passion and what it means to the fans.

I'm a bit surprised by Birmingham's start to the season because I thought they'd have enough quality about them to not be struggling this season. They are three points above the bottom three going into the weekend's games, but I thought they might be doing a bit better than that.

I think the conflict and upheaval in the boardroom is having an effect. There's a lot of speculation about whether the club is going to be sold and about whether Steve Bruce is going to get a new contract.

Eventually those things can take their toll on results and that seems to be what has happened.

When I made my predictions at the start of the season and I was asked about the prospects for the promoted teams, I thought Birmingham would have the best chance of staying up.

There are goals in that side and they proved that with a good result against Wigan a couple of weeks ago, showing a lot of character to come back from being behind twice to win 3-2. I also like Steve Bruce as a manager and I think he goes about his job really well.

But I do think they've got some good Premier League players there. I think Olivier Kapo has been pretty good for them in the midfield and he looks to be a player that can make a difference for them.

    Dog's abuse

There will also be a lot of attention on Liam Ridgewell in this game after he moved from Villa to Birmingham in the summer. There's not a lot of players that have made that move and it's tough when you've played for both sides and the local derby comes around.

He knows he's going to get dog's abuse from the Villa fans so he's got to be mentally strong. He'll do his best to try and play it all down, but it's a massive game for him, just as it's a massive game for the whole city.

I don't think Villa are in the greatest of form at the moment either. They are sat in mid-table, which is where I would expect them to be and I don't think they are any better than that.

They've certainly got some good quality young boys coming through and I think Ashley Young has taken to the Premier League very well after taking a little while to settle at Villa Park at the end of last season.

Gareth Barry has been in cracking form and I've also been very impressed by Martin Laursen. He had a long spell out with injury and he was very highly thought of before that.

People were questioning whether he would be able to come back from that injury, but he's certainly been pretty strong this season and he even got himself a goal last week. I think he lacks half-a-yard of pace, but he reads the game well and nobody has made a mug of him so far this season.

I also see John Carew as a big player for Villa and they've really missed him while he's been out injured. If he doesn't make it on Sunday then I can see Villa struggling a bit up front.

But while I expect Villa to be mid-table this season, I think a couple more signings could see them push on in the future. With the money they've got behind them now they could go out and buy some real quality, but I know Martin O'Neill wants to let the young boys come through as well.

    Le Tiss predicts

HOME WIN - I've got a funny feeling that Birmingham are going to sneak it in this game. Villa might be ahead of them in the table, but home advantage is important in a derby and Birmingham will just have enough for them it at St Andrews - though I wouldn't fancy them at Villa Park. It's certainly going to be tight and these games don't tend to be high-scoring affairs. I'm going to go for a 1-0 win for the Blues.

    Matt's main man

OLIVIER KAPO - I've been very impressed by him all year. He's been banging the goals in, which has been important because the strikers haven't been getting on the scoresheet as much as they should. From midfield he has been excellent and can really make a difference in a tight derby game.

  3. FAO of anyone 'working at home' the american episode is on Dave right now..

Damn I am 'working' at work today, just watched last nights episode. thought it was very good but I wonder how many more of those type of shows they can do before it becomes repetitive.

  4. As I am nearly 70 now (10 bars to go) Back with a few more noob questions:

    1. I have nearly 2000g now saved up and I dont think druids need to buy the epic flying mount --> do they get epic flight form? What to spend this money on?

    2. Its taken my about 20 days (game time) to level to 70 without any boosting or anything like that, is that good or bad? Can I lvl another character faster than that?

    3. PvP? How does this work ( I have 389 honor points most from ninja kills  )? How do you go to battlegrounds and when there, what happens? Is it just a killfest or are there king of the hill/capture the flag/etc. games. Can you go there play and have fun or do you have to be in an arena team. Is my feral spec tanking druid going to get pwned?

    4. PvP gear versus PvE gear - whats the difference. Resilience for PvP gear important? What is it?

    5. Alchemy specialisation - Which one?

  5. Ever happend to you? TBH it was **** brilliant. I LOVE these costumes, but i guess you know that from before :D

Yeah that happend to me with my druid, the costumes are cool. I love running around as a little gnome pirate.

  6. You will be making plenty of those kid, seriously! I dread to think how many ive been responsible for. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if it was going into the hundreds of thousands.

Whats the story with a soul bag, my guess is its like a herb bag for my soul shards. Do I need to buy one or can I just buy a regular bag and put my shards in there instead? I looked on the AH for a soul bag and it was 10G  I dont even have 1G and I have no alt on the server to transfer moola.

  7. Davies – (8 ) – Won everything in the air and led a very impressive back four very well. At times he looked very classy and at others a bit more ragged, but he looks an excellent athlete and a very talented defender on this showing.

Would you expect him to start next sunday based on his display last night?

  8. Affliction Affliction Affliction Affliction for leveling. Id go:

Thanks for the info, I printed it off for reference. Been reading the WoWwiki for info about warlock's, I just learnt how I created a soul shard :D

Look like a fun class so far.

  9. AOE's are lethal if you let them land. I still maintain the Mage ones are better though. Uninteruptable, cannot be dispelled, and can have CC effects on them. Just a shame to get the best ones (Blast Wave, Dragons Breath and an Arcane Power fueled AE) are in the PvE trees!

Hey Can you post your talent build or a good talent build for a Lock? I have started a Lock on tarren mill but I am not sure what to spend my talents points on, should I go affliction, demonology or Destruction.

  10. I'm only just beginning to reappreciate the beauty of the game with a new fx card.

My GFX card is poo but I still think the graphis are very good considering the age of the game and the HW requirements. I was thinking about getting a new GFX for my laptop and adding a stick of RAM but I might wait and see what the requirements will be for WLK just to be sure. I have a feeling that Blizzard will upgrade the HW requirements for that one to keep up with the new MMORPG's (Warhammer).

  11. Its taken me about 7 hours to download WoW from the site onto shitty VISTA. IT FINISHED DOWNLOADING A MIN AGO AND I CANT FIND IT!

lol, I'm not sure WoW runs properly on vista (if at all)and the new expansion will not support vista either.
  12. Hi General,

A quick football question from a long time football fan but first time browns supporter

    1. The QB situation seems to be an issue after the first game of the season. Granted the steelers are a good team but frye got pulled and anderson didnt do much better. Do you think Brady Quinn should get some game time? I understand he's young but young kids often have the no fear attitude that can be useful against the better teams (I'm thinking about the bengals next up)

    2. Who is the browns biggest rivals ( I need to know who I hate as it were). Would I be correct if I guessed the bengals (both ohio teams)? Or is it the Ravens given the history there?

    3. How do you rate Jamal Lewis as a runner? Would you be concerned that he is more of a 3rd down back given his lack of speed and that opposing defences might stick 8 in the box as they know he wont beat them deep. Do Cleveland have any other rusher that could offer a 1-2 punch similar to the redskins or the colts last season, like a speed runner that could compliment Jamal?

    4. Who are the browns players to look out for this season, Winslow? Davis?

    5. Finally what would be a good season this year, 6-10? 8-8?
