Hutton - to increase his popularity amongst the villa supporters by launching Stewart Downing into the upper Doug Ellis
-
Really imoortant result yesterday.
I thought we played really well against a pretty poor bolton. I cant see why everyone has a downer on our 2ND half performance. Bolton were always going to come out and try to get back in the game and i kust admit that although we werent as good as we had been in the first half i never thought the result was in any doubt. We dealt comfortably with any threat bolton posed and still created the two best chances of the half. With some better finishing we good quite easily have won by 3 or 4.
Given our form of late there were far more positives than negatives

I can feel another 'Lets pretend we've scored a goal' coming
-
The way the manager set us up Bent is a total passenger in this team .
As pathetic as it seems we'd be better off playing Heskey in that role
-
Has villa talk ever been so united
-
Can anybody seriously tell us that the players within our squad are not good enough to play at a higher tempo and with more drive and committment than how this clown sends the team out.
I can't remember ever going to the Manure game where the crowd was so quiet. We new what to expect from the very first minute.
NO belief and its running right through the club
-
I'm in the 'fortunate' position to be able to have a season ticket for me and my son. But if I was someone who was just able to pick and choose, there would be no way I'd waste my money whilst this negative minge is in charge.
I've just paid another £24 for my 8 year old daughter to come to the Liverpool fixture.
What a prat I am
-
Got mine. maybe we should do what we did at liverpool last year with the lets pretend we've scored a goal.
Think were gonna have to make our own entertainment
-
Was pleased to see a more adventurous starting line up but ended up witnessing the same lacklustre, over cautious crap we're fast becoming accustomed to and a side completely bereft of confidence and creativity.
And its very quickly transferred this lack of belief to the crowd. cant ever remember the crowd so quiet for a united game.
He's managed in just 13 games to remove any belief throughout the whole club.
I never thought i'd dislike a manager more than gh until the board appointed this clearing in the woods

What a great draw
perfect for getting us acclimatised to the type of ground we'll be visiting if the ginger one hangs around
-
The day he leaves the club is going to be a day of great celebration.
I think this was meant for the Mcleish thread
-
The worst part about all this is that no matter how shit we all think heskey is he would still be better suited to the roll darren bent is being asked to play. we have arguably the best goal scorer in the league and his contribution to this side and in the pathetic way in which the side is set up is absolutely zero.
Cant believe it but in this current set up the manager should pick heskey ahead of bent and that tells you everything about the idiot in charge
-
United wont have an easier three points than that all season. they didnt have to break sweat. what really pisses me off is that we have players that are capable of playing high tempo but this clown sends us out to play deep and allowvthe opposition to dictate possession
we played man u today and didnt have a single yellow card and that tells me that there isnt the desire or belief to get about them and put pressure on them.
The whole atmosphere within the ground told me that there wasnt a single person in claret and blue who had the belief that the result was gonna be anything other than what it was.
Absolutely pathetic
-
After the way he left us i'd never have him back unless we'd got a complete idiot incharge - oh wait a minute
-
Advice - get there early in time for the pre match warm up. it'll be your only chance to see a villa player have a shot
-
av mu
possession 23% 77%
shots 1 15
on target 0 10
Goals 0 3
-
The guy always gave 100% for our club and it was a pleasure having him here - he's too good for our current standards and is now a part of a team going for the title and Champions League. Natural progression and we shouldnt feel any harder done by then Watford did when we took him from them.
His highlight for us: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbAiaIqOMiHo[/quot
I know another player that fits that description gave twice as much service
to the club but he gets dogs abuse when he comes back
-
Eric Cantona right player right time final piece in the jigsaw etc but world class not a chance
I agree but say it to a United/sky fan and you will be killed
Its a bit like us old un's trying to justify Peter Withe as the greatest player ever to grace the game.
Which of course he was

Trevor Francis = Million pound my arse
Eric Cantona right player right time final piece in the jigsaw etc but world class not a chance

I was at his funeral in a packed Coleshill Church. A very good attendance with some notable Villa faces present including Sid Cowans. It's strange when you see these guys on the pitch going about their work and you don't give a thought to their lives in the outside world or the talents they posses. Nigel was an excellent musician and it was moving to hear the music played as his coffin was brought into church. It was a recording of Nigel himself playing the clarinet. A top class performance.
R.I.P.
this
Top bloke will be greatly missed.
There aren't many who would get the CEO turn up for a funeral

Why is it even when were shit and know that the kind of football we're likely to witness will be dull and boring am I still mad for it.
Roll on tomorrow
-
I'm on a coach stopping at Osmothersley Great chippy next door as well

This has got Bent grabbing the winner written all over this.
0-1, Bent (84)
Or alternatively he misses a sitter and then Sunderland score a last minute winner
The, he's finally GONE! Tell us your thoughts Thread

Re the Bent substitution - call it negative if you want but at least it was the first time I actually agreed with our manager being 'negative'
Correct call by the manager.
