  1. Absolutely delighted at this signing just hope the manager has what it takes to mould these new signings into a winning team.

At the end of the day it does matter whether we buys players for 18mil or 18p its the managers tactics thats going to determine our future. But this is a great sign of intent and has brought me a great deal more optimism.

    Thanks Randy for digging deep

  3. I've got to admit that I've been pissed off this week and feeling very negative about our future. But now its Friday and tomorrow we're off to see the mighty Lions on potentially a great away day. Lets av it I surprising excited about tomorrow.

Not far, 5000+ of us let go for it. Lets create a great atmosphere. Bring on some of the old songs and maybe have a 'shoes off' as well.

And if all else fails and we're getting beat we can always go for a Houliier bash.

Can't lose really but I'd much prefer not to be Houllier bashing

  4. I have absolutely no intention of ripping out the team during the game but I wont shy away from letting the manager know exactly what I think of him. Saying that I won't be going out of my way to abuse him but if we are losing again then he can expect to get some.

The last part was trying to say that I believe that any manager worth his salt would be capable of inspiring performances that are good enough to get results from this group of players. Whilst the window is open then there is still a glimmer of hope that a new man would come in, and have enough time to buy one or two players.

I simple have no faith in GH and certainly don't have the faith in him spending wisely.

I really hope he proves me wrong

  5. The great support the team got at Liverpool, Newcastle, Man City really made a difference to the performances didn't it.

Don't show any dissatisfaction with whats going on - because its of no benefit. What crap most of the players will be joining in you can tell they can't stand the guy

Lets just let it happen and

ROAR OUR TEAM INTO THE CHAMPIONSHIP :bang:

  6. I have to say in any other situation I would entirely agree with you but I just look at the inept spineless performances being dished up by the same bunch of players that have finished 6th 6th & 6th and can not except that it has anything to do with anything other than the manager. If this guy stays in charge we will definately be relegated.

I know the principle of supporting the team is the right one but on the other hand look at the magnificent support they received at Liverpool at Man City At Newcastle did it make any difference - NO

So berating the manager won't change the performance or the result on Saturday. What it may do is show the chairman exactly how the majority of supporters feel.

Whilst the transfer window is open and there is still a glimmer of hope I'll be voicing my discontent, when the window is closed and there is **** all I can do then I shall revert to supporting the team come what may and what will be will be.

  7. A quote heard on radio by a colleague this morning.

'Gerard Houllier looks like an old bloke who has wandered into a park where a bunch of kids are playing football and decided to stand and watch'

I thought that it summed him up pretty nicely.

Second thought-those who, like me, spent much of their time heading up the A38 in the 87/88 season must, like me, have a perverse hankering for second tier away days.......... :winkold:

Its strange but I was saying this to my son and trying to explain that although I'd hate to see us relegated part of me remembers the great time I had back then. Very perverse

  8. If Gyan hadn't missed his sitter. Collins luckily recovering when Sunderland should have scored. we'd could have been dead and buried etc. Everyone can point to one or two turning points in any game but its the overall team performance that matters and it ain't been good enough for months

Face it the inept spineless performance are a result of the management

  9. I think you'll find that it was the manager and his inability to get a team that finished 6 6 6 motivated and playing like it should. A manager that plays our best 3 attacking options out of position. A manager that has no respect for our great club. A manager that isn't respected by the players and the majority of supporters is what cost us 3 points. Although clearly Heskey getting sent off didn't help :)

  10. Thats a great idea. Preach the morale high ground and we'll be getting behind a Championship team next season.

In all my years I have never berated a manager but desperate times call for desperate measures and if you really think the supporters slagging the manager off is gonna change a thing then you are clearly living in clowd cuckoo land. Have you not witnessed the inept performance this season. The players don't respect him or give a ****.

So yes I'll be acting like a dick and I'll be giving Mr Houllier a round of ****.

  11. the prick lost a vast majority of supporters with his love fest for Liverpool a few weeks ago. It clear that non of the players have any respect for him or any desire to play for him. If he continues to utilise the quality players he has at his disposal in the pathetic manner that he is currently adopting then its only a matter of time. I just hope the board realise it in time

  12. Best thing about tonight was the 'you're getting sacked in the morning' It alright some taking them morale high ground and saying that we as supporters should do nothing but back the team (which the majority of the time i would agree with) but if we do that and do nothing to demonstrate our dissatifaction with this idiot then we will be supporting his successor in the Championship

  13. Excellent post and extremely well considered points.

My problem with all of this is that leadership comes from the top but more importantly it must start at the very top. Whilst Randy Lerner has been absolutely fantastic for us it is time for him to come to the front take the bull by the horns and sort this mess out.

The big concern is that when I look back at the last time we were relegated it all started with the trimming of the wage bill, the sacrifice of the high earners etc, you must remember the majority of that side would have been the Euro Champs. There replacement were youngster that everyone said were the bees knees and the appointment of 2nd rate manager who had neither the respect of the players or the fans.

All sounds very familiar don't it and it is why RANDY MUST ACT NOW
