I echo the sentiment of everyone else here. But would also add that he is an absolute gentleman on the pitch.

Yes I've been saying this too. A complete class act. The anti-Toney.

  2. One word I'd use to describe this performance: professional.

We went behind, but it was down to an individual error rather than the team or tactics, but we didn't panic and just methodically carried on probing. After equalising just before half-time we then came back and coolly killed them off, without ever going full throttle or really giving them much of a sniff to get back into the game.

If we beat Chelsea then I think 4th place is ours. Tottenham will have to win their next the games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool just to be level. Fair play to them if they do, but I can't see that happening.

Obviously I think we'll go for the win but even a draw wouldn't be that bad with these last two wins we've banked. 7 points from Arsenal away, Bournemouth home and Chelsea home is the upper end of what most would've expected. Indeed I think most would've been happy with 6 from those fixtures 8 days ago.

  4. Incredible that at this stage of the season we're only 8 points off the top. Obviously we've not even been outsiders for the title for quite a while now, but it just goes to show what an amazing season this is.

By this point in 2008/09 we were 5th and 22 points off top, and had 11 less points than we have now with a much inferior GD.

That TNT commentator. What an absolute word removed. Wonderful Lille robbed by nasty Martínez and his unsporting antics, not to mention football rules that are archaic! Honestly you’d have thought we’d been battered, like 40 shots to 0. Yes they were better for 70 minutes. Once Bailey came on they were cacking their pants…always felt if we grabbed one back we would have won. And we should have won in extra time, the only team creating clear chances. Lille robbed??? Non monsieur…you had a lot of possession but created next to nothing…

Think the phrase was "blotted his copybook again"

**** off he was literally the hero of the hour for his team.

  6. He is comfortably our most important player. He's not just world class in terms of ability but also in mentality. He's a born winner and just a huge personality that would be impossible to replace.

If you want to watch it again stress-free.

I still can't watch our penalty shootout against West Brom without reliving the stress and that game was 5 years ago now.

  8. The stupid thing is both yellow cards tonight were total BS. Honestly that referee should be removed from Conference League fixtures because it didn't even seem like he understood the rules.

Is there any other keeper in the world you want in a pen shoot out

Honestly no. It's not just his technical ability at saving penalties but the fact that he consistently psyches his opponents out. His reputation is such now that he probably doesn't even have to lift a finger to get inside the heads of penalty takers now.
