  1. sorry to inject some devils advocacy into this but if dunne had made that tackle on owen after 4 minutes and got sent off as well as them getting a pen this place would have gone into meltdown. yes, he should get booked, but not sent off.

i know that rules are rules and all that but no ref is ever going to send someone off after 4 minutes of a cup final. if it had been outside the box and right in the centre of the goal he may have gone, but it wasnt. we got a pen, and effectively started the game with a goal advantage - maybe he should have gone in the book, but he would still be on the pitch.

forget it now anyway. the lads have 45 minutes to write history...

He should have walked. No debate. There was no protest from the United players or bench, and they couldnt believe their luck when he stayed on the park.

I see what you are saying about the ref not wanting to 'ruin' a cup final, but even then he should still have been sent off. It was a stonewall penalty, and the last defender had denied a goalscoring opportunity by fouling an attacker. The fact that Vidic didnt even get a yellow is mind boggling. Yes, he would still have been on the park, but being on a yellow with Gabby and Ash running at him means that Vidic would have had to had changed his game. He wouldnt have obstructed Ash towards the end of the first half for example.

United got away with murder. The players should worry about it after the final whistle, they have a game to win. We can still be pissed off about it.

Exactly, when Scott Carson gave away a penalty against Man U he got sent off, you can't change the rules as and when you like, it needs to be consistent.

  2. I didn't think it was a penalty live, but then I was a good hundred plus yards away and I'm a one eyed biased Villa fan with a grudge.

The tackle itself was a foul, but Warnock was fouled by Lee hitting him in the face before the tackle was made. I assume the ref didn't see that bit, rather than deciding it was a fair challenge. It looked quite deliberate, the way that Heinze used to do a rugby handoff every time someone ran past him, while looking the other way to make it seem accidental.

On seeing the replay, Lee's fist did make contact with Warnock's face.

  3. One day a construction worker left the job a little early, and when he got home he found his wife in bed with another man.

Consumed with rage, he hauled the man down the stairs and into the garage where he proceeded to secure his dick in a vice.

Utterly terrified, the man screamed, "Stop, stop! you're not going to cut it off, are you? ARE YOU?"

"Nope," replied the construction worker, "You are...I'm going to set the garage on fire."

  4. Truth be told, we still look utterly shit when teams pack men behind the ball.

Before our second goal, Burnley was playing very well, overloading the flanks with players keeping it tight, and we had no answer to that, we just kept passing it out wide.

But once we got that second, Burnley committed more men forward we got to play our natural counter-attacking game ... which yielded quite a lot of goals against a crap Burnley defence.

This games had the potential to be another West Ham, and I'm glad Downing got the goal when he did otherwise I think it would have been.

MON needs to sort it out. Don't go out wide all the time, let the team practice playing through the middle, with our wingers tucking in for support.

As I said in the match thread, when trying to break down an opposition who's being tight, to work in crosses, we often need 4, 5 players on one flank just to get in a cross for 2 players in the box to try to reach.

Not every game will be like the one against Burnley, and we really have to learn how to play another way.

Because looking at the rest of the season, whereby we will be coming up against teams lower in the table, there will be many more 'West Hams' and our ridiculous approach will cost us a lot of points if we persist with it.

    Sort it out MON.

Chances are if we continue playing this way, there will more West Hams and less Burnelys, if you know what I'm saying.

  5. If we sort out our crossing we'll score again.

    What's the **** point?

It's always Downing/Ash, Agbonlahor and Milner working in tandem down one flank to get a cross in and the only 2 **** people in the box who are trying to get onto the end of it - Heskey whose heading is laughable and Downing/Ash.

Petrov can't get into the box or he'll leave a **** big hole in the midfield.

The way we play is stupid, honestly. All our play happens on the flank, whereby it's easy for the opposition to just overload with players.

When Heskey or Agbonlahor gets the ball, they always look to pass to the wide players rather than pass inside.

Why can't Downing and Ash tuck in a little bit when they don't have the ball and try and make something through the middle? And when they want to get out wide it's not that much of a hassle to move out wide again.

Once again our ridiculously inefficient way of playing is getting shown up.

3, 4 players camped on one flank just to get in one **** cross for 2 people, one of which can't head a ball to save his life is horribly cost-ineffective.

I hate the way we play. I really do.

  6. Sell one of our few strikers?

Only if we're confident of bumping Delfouneso up to first-team status.

As it is we're desperately short of strikers.

And Carew still remains the best striker(on paper) that we've got.

  7. Anyone listening to Neil Warnock? **** one eyed prick. Saying the linesman should be banned because of the corner decision that lead to our second. Did he not see the 2 incorrect decisions he gave against us when we were clean through?

    Prick.

To be fair, that linesman should be sacked regardless.

I've never seen a linesman be so incapable of calling offside decisions correctly.

    That's a terrible liability for a linesman.

  8. Loved Petrov exploding into the box like a bullet train for the equalizer.

The officiating was dreadful IMO. Inconsistent the whole way through.

Palace's first goal, the linesman didn't give a **** when the ball was way outside the quadrant, but when Young placed it on the edge, the linesman wanted it further back.

Also both offside calls against Delph(when he was through on goal) and Delfouneso were so obviously incorrect, that linesman really ought to be sacked.

Delph's yellow card and the subsequent free-kick given to Palace was another baffling decision.

Shit refereeing. But our performance didn't help either.

Why isn't there more people in the box attacking crosses?

So many times Young or Downing gets in good crosses and at most only 2 players are in there trying to get on the end of it - most of the time it's crosses into an empty box.
