  1. Hate to say it but Milner won't improve under us as much as he would with United.

I don't think this is true. What exactly are you basing that on? Do they have better technical and/or tactical coaches at United? Do they have better training programmes? Do they have superior training facilities? Is SAF better than MON at getting the most out of a young English player?

Sure United have a slightly better overall squad than we do and they challenge for honors every year. But to suggest he would improve more there is by no means certain. It is common knowledge that players get better by playing regulary. If it was a case of playing for United versus playing for example for Hull, I'd agree he would probably be better off at United.

But since the difference between our and Uniteds squad isn't that great, I reckon Milner will be fine here and improve just as much as he would at any top club. Besides here he doesn't have to think about being a victim of squad rotation and things like that, although there really isn't any way of knowing for certain what that would do to him. Playing with experienced players like Giggs and Scholes can hardly do an already accomplished player any harm but it isn't either by no means a given that he'll greatly benefit from this. And we too are most likely able to offer him European football next season so even though the CL is tougher and better than the Europa League, the difference is negligible.

Training with great players like Rooney, Scholes and Giggs week in week out is something he currently does not have. Who in our squad is as good as either of those 3 in terms of experience, vision, passing?

No one. Playing against the likes of Barca and Inter-Milan in the Champions League surrounded by teammates like Rooney and Giggs, this is far more difficult and challenging than playing against some Icelandic team with super static Villa.

If you think that Milner would be able to make the kinds of runs, passes and dribbles that he would with Rooney flitting in and out and around the box, with our current bunch of footballers, you are clearly deluded.

Playing with Rooney/Giggs/Scholes will allow Milner to explore other facets of his game that he wouldn't experience here. Even if you factor in rotation, with Champions League and the Cups, Milner could still get over access of 30 games, and I would argue that 30 games a season with Rooney/Giggs/Scholes is still better than playing every single game for Villa a season.

If you honestly think that Milner would not improve more under United than he would under us, you clearly view our club too highly.

  2. I like Milner.

And if SAF approached Milner and wants to make him a fixture in the United engine room ... I wouldn't begrudge James if he wanted to go to United.

In fact, I think most of us would be happy for him, because Milner could truly be world class there. Playing with the likes of Rooney, Giggs and Scholes week in week out would really improve his overall game - movement, vision, passing. All these things would be further honed with United because of the kind of football they play. Milner would finally be challenged technically there.

Hate to say it but Milner won't improve under us as much as he would with United.

  3. Honestly.

We never looked like winning the game.

Apart from Milner's customary outside-the-box shots every game, we hardly work the opposition keepers with strong shots on target.

Our version of threatening is lofting balls into the box. And it really is not that threatening.

We need more shooting from our team in general. If you don't ever shoot you will never score. Hoping to profit off a cross all the time is silly. We shouldn't work the cross all the time, we should try working the shot.

Credit where's credit due, I did see some effort in trying to play people in rather than going out wide and hopelessly crossing the ball into the box again and again.

But we still look very toothless upfront and shaky at the back.

    Not a good combination.

  4. There's a huge problem with us when we go behind.

Spot on. Except for when we beat Chelsea earlier in the season. Or two of the previous rounds of the FA cup.

2 poorly defended corners against Chelsea, one wrongly awarded corner against Palace, Carew's dominance over weak defenders - all these still does not show how we as a team in terms of general play try and equalize.

Look at all our equalizers this season, during the time when we were chasing the game, were we constantly testing the keeper, and forcing saves?

No, the way we pressure is by hitting hopeful crosses into a packed box of opposition defenders and play for a free-kick or corner.

We need to be able to break down teams who pack men into their box to deal with our crosses.

  5. There's a huge problem with us when we go behind.

We always struggle to recover. I can never see us score an equalizer.

Even against Wolves ffs, we never looked like we were going to equalize.

We need a plan B when we go behind, we just don't have that.

    But Webb seriously bottled it.

  6. Heskey was back defending also at set pieces

Heskey doesn't work as hard as Carew in tracking back, simply because he doesn't have the engine, pace or qualities to do so.

    Carew was immense today.

Btw a little side note, that striker that Wolves sent on the 88th minute looked like a Carew clone ... lol.

Anyway I'm feeling a lot better now after watching this again ...

Watch it and you will feel happier! :D

  7. Hull destroyed Cuellar at right back. Almost all of their attacks involved beating Cuellar.

And Heskey is useless and Downing is woefully out of form.

Petrov is a liability when he has to defend.

    But Carew is on fire.

Sidwell made a great run from midfield to set up the equaliser too.

And we are still in it.

We started off the first 15 minutes BRILLIANTLY.

Only after we conceded the goal then we fell apart. Why?

Why couldn't we keep out composure and keep getting the ball out to Young, who was causing tonnes of damage.

Cuellar needs to be taught how to defend as a right back, and he should never try crossing from RB again, he sucks at it.

  8. One day a priest, on his way back home, he notices a little boy at the side with a box of kittens.

The priest leans over and takes a look.

"Those are some of prettiest kittens I've seen."

The boy replies: " Yes, they're Christian kittens."

The Priest thinks oh, that's adorable and walks on home.

About a week later, he's walking down the same street with a friend and he sees the boy with the kittens again. Remembering the kid's description of the kittens he says to his friend:

"Go ask the kid about them kittens, he's got the cutest answer you've ever heard."

So the friend walks over and says:

"Well, those are really cute kittens."

    The boy answers:

    "Yes, they're Atheist kittens."

The priest overhears this and says:

"Wait a minute, last week you told me they were Christian kittens."

    And then the boy answers:

"Yeah, but now their eyes are open."

  9. I can't believe the amount of people who eat it with toast and cheese.

    Sounds absolutely vile.

I use it to flavor plain porridge or tasteless soups.

    It's quite delicious that way.

But spreading it on bread with cheese? Sounds awful imo.
