  1. Broner's an idiot but an incredible talent. Before we get too carried away though it's worth watching his fight against Ponce de León again, he really struggled and IMO got a robbery decision.

His robbery over Quintero a couple of years earlier was even worse.

True, I think Teddy Atlas went mad over that if I remember correctly.

Although that fight was very much early days, Broner couldn't have been more than 10 fights into his career and it was only like an 8 round fight.

Ponce de León was more revealing for me as it was quite recent and on a much bigger stage.

Broner's ego is incredible for someone of his (in)experience. I'd love him to put his money where his mouth is and fight someone like Juan Manuel Marquez at 135lbs.

Absolutely yeah, but it's a fight Quintero took at 3 days notice and Broner was very much expected to win. He seems to have got a free pass for it by most though.

I don't rate him as much as most people seem to. He's improved a lot and is still young, but I don't like this Mayweather impression of his. He's nowhere near as slick as he thinks he is, and I think he would be better off fighter more as a boxer-puncher.

Him and Marquez would be a cracking fight. I'd still like to see him fight Burns. I think Burns could potentially give him real problems.

  3. If anyone is thinking of getting Boxnation for the Haye-Chisora, you'll want to do it this week. If you sign up this week (with the promo code: "SUNBOXING") they'll give you 2 months for the price of 1. If you sign up from the 7th onwards, they're then charging normal price with a £10 registration fee too. :thumb:

  4. Broner - Sykes is off too, and I'd have liked another look at Broner.

I don't think we would have seen much of him.

What was really shocking from the interview with Sykes' trainer last night was the fact that no one has contacted them to tell them the fight has been cancelled. How bad it that?

Kid Galahad fights on Channel 5 again tonight. I think it all might be a bit soon for him headlining these shows. He's not even anywhere near the top British fighters (Quigg, Munroe, Frampton). It will be interesting to see Eubank Jr in action again though.

  5. It seems that the Haye vs Chisora fight is done for July 14th at Upton Park and is expected to be announced on Tuesday.

Apparently the fight will go ahead regardless of Chisora's appeal hearing (May 14th) with the newly set up Luxembourg commission sanctioning the fight if unsuccessful.

  6. I thought Molina was winning quite comfortably. Yes, it was a bit ugly but he was nullifying Kirkland and doing the better work. Watt was doing my head in with his constant moaning. The ref definitely should have took action with some of Molina's tactics like the excessive holding though.

  7. prime Lennox Lewis (the one who destroyed Donovan Razor Ruddock)

I wouldn't say that's prime Lewis myself. He looked at lot more vulnerable at that early stage than he did later. I prefer the later Manny Steward moulded version. Less aggressive, but more effective IMO.

Foreman was better at what Tyson was all about, he was bigger, stronger and had a harder punch, Ali beat foreman.........

Take a look at Foremans fights before he met with Ali, the guy was a beast of fighter.

Foreman and Tyson have very different styles. It doesn't really work like that.

To answer the original question, Ali. He's got all the facets to his game that you need to beat Tyson. Great chin, jab, engine, movement, durability. I'd fancy Ali to stop him late on.
