  1. I posted a while back, I have it on very good authority that he is (or at least was) very interested in buying us.

when you say good authority... what do you mean?

Someone I know very well who works at Oracle and who has no reason whatsoever to lie. He's a well respected, middle aged guy who had forgotten I was a Villa fan so it would be a pretty random thing to make up.

With anything like this though, there is no way of me proving it, I'm only passing on something I heard and it's the first time i've ever been privvy to any juicy villa news. Tenuous or not.

My dads a VP at Oracle and he hasn't said a word to me about it and he genuinely has contact with Ellison

  2. Jack posted that tweet not because he wants to leave for Man Utd, but because he hates Aston Villa and their fans. Jack Grealish hates you and he wants you to know it. He thinks you're scum. He hopes that everyone you know dies a painful death. That's the kind of guy he is, as evidenced by that tweet. The sooner he's out of our club the better. Go on Jack, take your hate elsewhere. We're tired of your inherently evil nature. His hair is just the exclamation point at the end of him telling every Aston Villa fan to top themselves. Look away kids. Look away from him, or you'll turn evil too.

    Errr what?

  3. Europa league spot?! Don't you need to finish 5th as the other two spots are given to the Capital One and FA cup winners? So yeah.... Impossible.

Not necessarily. If the cups are won by teams who finish in the Champions League places then you can qualify in 7th.

Us finishing 7th might be very unlikely but it's not impossible.

I would say it's near on impossible imo, the top 7 picks itself tbf.

    I agree

  4. I just read a Belgium lawyer is going to take on UEFA over FFP. Worth started a thread over as it could affect us and the possibility of a takeover?

    http://freepressjournal.in/revolutionary-belgian-lawyer-setting-sight-to-change-uefas-ffp-rules/

He has a point, interesting to follow.

Old story heard about it already I thought myself the legal challenges would come in after the big fines but all the clubs accepted it and I think that tells you all you need to know

  5. Exactly which leads you back to the rules we can't spend more than x to get a winning team so we need to do it without spending what we would like right now.

No point moaning about it but if we want to progress we should stop the moaning as it can't change right now and that will help having a united supporter base.

I'm all up for selling naming rights to make some cash but i fear even for that we need to be more successful

  6. Canales wanting to stay in his home country rather than move in a last minute job to a country where he doesn't speak the language and it's cold. Perfectly acceptable tbh.

Don't think anyone would argue any other way.

But we've had an entire transfer window. We shouldn't be one of the lowest spending teams in the league.

When you see the three year loss plus the owner selling it is to be expected

  7. THIS TRANSFER WINDOW:

Has it really been that bad?
Compared to the last few? No. Compared to most other teams spending the increased tv money? Yes.

We will be one of the lowest spending teams in the league if we sign no one else this year.

If clubs want to spend £12m on Long £8m on Livermore, £10m on Forster then good luck to them.
Well it's helped most clubs finish above us the last few years.

I don't think it is sustainable though.

Neither is spending peanuts and fighting relegation every year.
At least were solvent again you can build off this everyone has been saying it for years but this. Can't go on.

I've been watching SSN all day and the amount if times they have mentioned the squad places available and FFP would have made a decent drinking game as it has been taking some effect with clubs having to balance a bit that is only going to become more of a recurring theme

Aren't United having to comply with this?!

Yes which they are easily doing
