  1. There is next to no point signing a new striker if you aren't going to service them properly or be able to have better control of a game.

As the forwards and defensive players we have are decent we should be spending all our available money this year and next on midfielders.

No way on earth would I sign Cleverley for 8m he isn't what is needed we have a carbon copy in Westwood already......

We need a box to box midfielder and an attacking midfielder, we also cant do it on the cheap.

My suggestion would be Dembele for box to box which I imagine would take up the entire budget and Janujaz on loan if that is possible as he has only started four games so far this season.

  2. A good number 10.

    A winger or two.

Get those and we'll be in better shape.

I just came in to say this. We really need a good winger, somebody who can stretch play.

I hear Januzaj might be available for a loan.

Yes if you can loan a utd player that is the type you want!

I wouldn't buy cleverley I would sound out mousa dembele apparently Spurs will sell him and he is a far better player and another Belgian too ;)

  3. Why not rename the ticket office, club shop and Holte pub whilst we're at it.

Signs of desperation this one, looks like Lerner would sell his own mother now rather than put his hand in his own pocket anymore.

If he was that bothered why not call it " The Holte Lerner Holdings Ltd Stand" and pay us more than the going rate than we would get from Papa Johns Pizza.

He couldn't keep a rabbit going with lettuce

Proud History, Bright Future my arse!

I understand your point, but this is the situation now with FFP - the owner can't just put his hand in his pocket, the club has to generate the income.

FFP is basically there to keep the big boys big, and the rest of us feeding from scraps.

There are more than enough sticks to hit Lerner with, but the FFP situation in world football is not one of them IMO.

You miss my golden point pal!..

Breaks FFP rules look up why Man City and PSG got fined

  4. The whole Man City/PSG thing can still be done even after FFP.

But it's going to cost twice as much and take at least twice as long to build a squad who can compete for a CL-spot.

Not hard to see why this is no longer such a tempting idea even after the massive increase in TV-money

This and they are likely to amend the rules to increase the fines if clubs start to ignore it

  5. Well at least the team is fairly solid now any money minus sales of course of players this year and next needs to be spent on the midfield we would be in the top half with one or two extra midfielders

  6. It makes me so angry that we're going to lose a player as good as him, just because Lerner doesn't want to invest a bit more in the team. It wouldn't take 30/40/50m of investment. It would just take an extra £8-12m on top of the pittance that Lambert gets, for him to spend it on 2 or 3 decent players to give us a fighting chance of not looking constantly shit.

While I think you could make that case with regards to Delph and Vlaar, I don't think there's anything anybody can do about keeping Benteke at the club long term. He is clearly good enough for a CL team and it's hard to stop that sort of talent from rising to the top.

I agree Benteke belongs at a club that makes CL quarter finals

  7. "All"??????

    What did you expect?

A hat trick & 70 yard wonder balls all day long?

Lambert knew there was "a good player in there" before the game, hence Coles selection.

Stop trying to be negative for the sake of it-Your post adds nothing to the debate

Actually your post adds nothing to the conversation as I wasn't being negative.
