Man Utd signed a kit deal today for £750,000,000 over 10 years you could buy Villa every three years :/
-
And the last team to play wingers was??
they all play three in the middle now with a target man and 2 wide strikers....... aka what we did last season. -
Can see the the title document of the particulars for us.....
Do you want to throw away half a billion? Well it's your lucky day YOU CAN LOSE TWICE WHAT I DID!
-
If we got him you'd have to say this has been a pretty impressive window given the limitations. That's mean the 3 major problem positions had been filled. Not necessarily filled brilliantly, but pretty much as good as we could possibly have done all things considered.
Plus, we'd possibly have a few more to come in afterwards if talk of £15m total for the year to spend are true
15m inc wages apparently
-
Does he still have the legs? That's the first thing you always ask yourself when signing an old player
-
I heard someone pass me earlier And say you know what we need a maldini type player.....
I thought to myself oh really? Do we?
What an idiot

If a takeover doesn't happen before January, and Villa are say within 5 or 6 points of the top half, can anyone envisage a situation where Lerner takes a look at it and thinks that he might have a better chance of selling up if the club is in the top 7 or 8,therefore giving Lambert a further 10-20 million to bring in better quality to try to get us into one of those finishing positions?
I know it might sound a bit ludicrous to think of Lerner splashing some cash but, he might think it's worth it if it means not cutting the asking price by 50 million. Just a thought.
No for so many reasons
-
He is average at best and thinks he is awesome. He is David Bentley with less talent.

I heard someone say progress, listen all we want to do is stay up until a new owner comes in

-
I think if we went down he wouldn't sell until we were back in the prem
-
As I've said I'm starting to think we won't get sold unless we're lucky enough to find someone mega rich to buy us. And when I say mega rich I mean someone who thinks 200 million is a drop in the ocean.
Hopefully Baltan and the gang have plenty and get something sorted out if they're still interested.
Yep and even then for them to splash the cash they will have to not see it as an investment because of FFP

im suprised there is no interest in us, so much potential at this club its unbelievable
I'm not we don't generate massive merchandising revenue like some and we get the same TV money as clubs that are perceived far smaller. The price of clubs is so high now and the risks are getting bigger.
-
Based on our activity so far don't get your hopes up
-
Yea I doubt anything is happening right now which suggests it won't this window
-
When we were bleeding money he did. But according to the club we're not any more, so I would take from that his monetary input isnt needed as much any more
I don't think much has over the years despite what people believe.
The money won't be coming from his pocket I'm sureI'd rather he kept the £20m and dropped his asking price for the club in order to speed up his own exit.
The majority of the money he put in was loan or in exchange for equity, the money loaned is being repaid and has in the past been subject to management fees and interest (low level and not always waved) I believe.
As and when he sells the club I don't expect in real terms he will have put much if any of his money in.
Not that that is wrong in any way, but I think there is a misconception with him that he has been some kind of generous benefactor to the club and I don't think that view stacks up personally.
For him not to lose money he needs to sell for 250m or more. He will lose money.

With keane joining for me it signals one of two things. A take over is very close or really really far away

We are so farked. My god what has happened to this club.
Why on earth did Randy come out with that statement. I cannot even fathom why he would make that statement unless it was a done deal. To shut up a few rumours? Theres always been rumours leave it like that. We are in limbo now and if anyone is really interested they are best to wait a little while longer as Randy gets really desperate and agrees a lower price. He really has no business sense.
There were a lot of rumours, he wanted to sell so he announced it.
People read way too much into it

Next season is going to be the season we drop down.
Seems no one sees us as attractive as we all hoped for.
Another season of lambert and Lerner is something my body, mind and soul cannot take.
Each passing day. Each passing week. The less info we get of potential new owners the more worried I am.
Watch out guys we have a ray of sunshine here!

There is a marked difference between a single and group ownership usually.
Single you could be a toy that is lavished, group usually means investment or couldn't afford it on their own
-
Haven't those two names come up before? Harris definitely has.
Harris was one some people were dreaming of because of how much the investment group is worth. The key is in the name though investment group they won't spunk money up the wall but the club may be ran well

Yea you can look them up and see they are worth around 5 billion USD.
However it is the investment group they represent buying assets they have $160 billion. -
I feel this is far from our darkest hour as the OP states we have been in League 1 which is far worse than now as was the season under McNeil.
-
Other than a media outlet saying that because selling a club takes 3 months what news is there really? None.
Same as yesterday then

FFP has decreased their punishment on requirements to bring home grown players in cl on city and psg. It went from 8 to 5 because lobbying.
they still have to pay 50mill and a reduced squad size.
The nonsense of FFP - Man City are in debt and get fined; but don't get excluded from the CL.
It literally hasn't affected them.
I'd be fine with if it were about debt but it's not it's about making a loss man city have no debt as they have a great owner

You see momo this is the problem supporters on mass don't get it!
Every other club gets pretty much the same TV money and mostly the same sort of gate revenue. The gate revenue used to be a big part of a clubs budget but now its a pittance compared to the TV revenue.
The meat is in sponsorship and merchandising THAT is the big difference between us and the rest.
