  1. Could be that alot of those who went to the away leg last year didn't feel the need to go again having experienced the ground already.

    Also the knock out games come pretty quickly after the draw leaving little to get the money together, making arrangments, time off work etc. You get a bit more notice on the group fixtures and I'm sure we'll muster our excellent away support for them games (if we get through that is).

  2. Ronald Koeman is really really really shit and I don't want him anywhere near my precious Villa. He is one of the worse coaches ever. Trust me, I'm Dutch.

    Are you Freddie in disguise? Are you Freddie in disguise? Booooouma Booooouma :lol:

    For those who don't remember, Koeman is the man who should have been sent off for Holland when they prevented us from qualifying for the 1994 World Cup. He got a yellow card and then scored the free kick that knocked us out in the qualifying stages :(

    It cost Graham Taylor is job, although he probably would have been sacked anyway!

    Did he not also claim to be too good to play for villa after we allegedly went after him in the mid 90's

  3. When he played the first half against fiorentina last pre season alongside carlos he was immense and he hasn't disappointed since. Suspect with a bit of training he could score a few from corners as well.

  4. Wouldn't want a leak now that we're so close to the unveiling it would just annoy and disappoint tbh. Also good to have it reaffirmed that we're running a tight ship and everyone involved in the club is rowing in the same direction

  5. Oh I have many.

    My cousin is married to the brother of tony from hollyoakes.

    My mum is an ex girlfriend of Ray Wilkins and Victor Ubogu (spelling)

    I once worked in a pub many moons ago where Barnes Wallace's (grammer?) Grandson drank.

    I used to live between the childhood homes of tolken and tony hancock.

    I've challenged Craig Charles to a game of pool but he refused (he's tit by the way).

    And Chas and Dave both bought me a pint on my 21st Birthday

  6. What if....and this is a distinct possibility, Milner comes back as a World Cup winner or at the very least excels in the World Cup. How would THAT affect his transfer fee?

    If he does well it will up his fee if he doesn't then he has alreadt proved himself in one of the (if not the) best leagues in the world.

    Personally I think Jimmy won't go as citeh have made a bid prior to the world cup where as villa have shown some respect for the lad and made contract negotiation appoinmentts for afterwards. If anyting I hope Jimmy realised that he would be 'hot proprerty'after last season and that the Villa stance is the right and proper one.

  7. I needed A little respite from the hilarity of the recent press conference so I thought we'd take a trip back to 1993 and one of Karen Brady's programme columns. If ever there were a definition of small time this is it;

    Link

    Some of my favourite parts include;

    Unashamedly washing the financial laundry in public then emotionaly blackmailing the fans trying to attend every game.

    The opportunity to grass up your unwashed bluenose mates directly to Brady herself.

    And finally pointing out that if your going to get scammed by a premium rate number then you may as well get scammed by their premium rate number.

    Oh happy days.

    My favourite bit of that has to be the listing of insurance costs. I know its 15 years ago but 9 grand for a football club and its various liability. I'm sure as soon as Yeung rights them off they'll get enough for a naked old maestro.

  8. Hello General

    Just got back from the futures job fair at VP and although the event itself was a bit rubbish i'd just like to say that the two ladies working on the villa recruitment stall were excellent. They were very enthusiastic and helpful and gave me some great information and feedback. Just thought i would let know and hope you can pass on my thanks to the HR department.

  9. This is duely noted sir........And I like that polish vodka sebrovka or what ever but I will let you know when U buy it for me

    I bet a pint of vodka that garry or barry or what ever his name is will only get a third of the games he was getting here ........alonso says he is open to offers the have de jong, elano , barton, m petrov , sw phillips .....

    Barton???? Elano will leave, Petrov and SWP are wingers.

    You make no sense I'm afraid.

    Barry will have a hard time competeing with kompany and de jong, both are very acomplished holding midfeilders and I can't see Ireland not being first on the team sheet. I give til November before he throws his diamond encrusted dummy out of his pram. Wouldn't it be funny if he's on the bench at VP.

  10. Nice post enjoyed reading that.

    Must also aplaude you for some positive words on Zat Knight. Now I'm not his biggest fan and I know he can be a tad calamatous (apologies for spelling) at times but when he's playing well he's such an effective and tidy defender that all his good work goes a bit unnoticed. Also considering the amount of criticism he gets from all angles you never here a peep out of him and always gets his head down and works his hardest. I'll reiterate your point, excellent back up.

  11. One day the elephant at Dudley zoo fell very sick and it was agreed by the zoo keepers that he should spend his final days with some dignity. So it was decided that the elephant should be transported back to the african plains so that he could seek out an elephant graved yard to die in, as all elephants outside captivity do. On arival in Africa the elephant was released but for the whole of the first day he just stood there seemingly not knowing what to do. Night fell and the sun rose again but still the elephant just stood there until a hyena came racing up to him. The hyena turned to the elephant and said “have you come here to die” the elephant replied “nah sport i came here yesterdi”
