Main difference being Snowflake and Gammon were created as derogatory terms. Woke most definitely wasn't, hence it making me smile when it's used that way.

In just a few short years the word mutated from being something used almost exclusively among African Americans, often tongue in cheek ("Stay woke" was a funny joke for a while), to an overused pejorative among middle aged British people and everyone in between.
It’s just a repeat of what happened with the term “politically correct” ~35 years ago. It started as a acknowledgement to fellow progressives that something they said/did/liked wasn’t entirely in tune with their progressive beliefs (e.g., “I know it’s not politically correct, but I actually like Ted Nugent’s music.”) and somehow got co-opted by the right to describe any tolerant, inclusive attitude and claim that the left were branding them as “incorrect” for having different opinions.
Cancelling and cancel culture are similar. It started out to describe a few people being completely ostracized for despicable behavior that should have been checked long ago like Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey…oh, and Ted Nugent with his teenaged girls! Now the right complains of being cancelled when someone rightfully calls them out for some racist, sexist or otherwise intolerant and offensive behavior.

I am surprised Trump has still not returned to Twitter, sorely he will have a much bigger audience for his bullshit agenda there.
His outrageous posts on Trump Social all get reported in the news anyway, so his exposure isn't limited to his own subscribers.

Doing our best to let them back in it with the cheap giveaways.

Just had a look at the stats and saw that wolves had 73% possession in the opening few mins…. Why are we allowing this?
Because we don’t have Kamala to win the ball and McGinn to move it forward

I decided to go see Love Lies Bleeding after watching the trailer and seeing that it had 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. It's also gotten some good buzz, apparently. I fail to see why. The storyline definitely had potential and the overall feel is compelling. It could have been a really good movie, but there was some eye-roll inducing stuff and by the end my wife and I were almost laughing. Plus, there wasn't a single sympathetic character in the film.
Oh...and the lesbian sex wasn't even hot

The instrumental break from 2.15 is just fantastic
I think in the rush to get on the stage they mistakenly grabbed each others' hats. Guys with big heads look like they're wearing kids' hats and the drummer would take flight in a wind if he had a chin strap.

There were a fair number of bands/members of bands in the UK in the 60s that were definitely bigger in the UK than the US at that time, but (perhaps thanks to Lee Abrams more than anybody else) broke in the US roughly between '75 and '85 after they had basically faded into the background in the UK. You could definitely argue that the likes of Pink Floyd and The Kinks resemble that description (even arguably the likes of Yes or Genesis, too).
Unless Yes and Pink Floyd had faded into the background in the UK by '71 and '73, respectively, which I seriously doubt, I don't think you can put them in that group.

Nice at first, but a little sweet for my liking after the first few sips, and I was having it as dessert.

Is the guy a school dropout or something? He spends 2 minutes speculating about the meaning of a 10-word sign whose meaning couldn’t be any clearer. He can’t really be as stupid as he appears, surely.

Even if found guilty he would simply deny it, cry fake news/smear tactics, and they would believe him.
He wouldn’t need to deny it. Most evangelicals have long ago rationalized Trump’s behavior as long as he says the right things, appoints the right judges and supports andy pro-Christian nationalist legislation introduced by MAGA congressional reps. He would have to convert to Islam and trash Christianity to lose them

It’s impressive that less than 24 hours have passed and Russia claim to have arrested ALL those involved in the attack.
How long before they “confess” to having been sent by Ukraine?
