  1. Really pissed off with the West Ham 'bracing' themselves for us to bid for Parker story!!!!

Can't see why we would want to replace Milner (one of the countries brightest prospects) with a past it player who has found his own level playing for a crappy team?

Porno dwarves you can keep him!!! We don't want him, (hopefully?).

You really havnt been paying attention over the last couple of months have you?

Erm I think you will find that you haven't been paying attention to Maz's post over the last few days??

Sorry...havnt been stalking Maz that much recently!!!

    Obviously not.

Well to sum it up Maz has shown with various quotes from Randy that we don't operate a sell to buy policy. Obviously some sales will be made but that is not affecting our buying power.

  3. Whatever you say about his club form, he clearly has ability which is shown at international level and i'd have him at villa.

If we signed him I (and we won't imo) I wouldn't care less how many goals he scored for Germany I would just be annoyed at how few he would be scoring in a Villa shirt! Vassell looked brilliant for England and had a good scoring record, i wouldn't want us to re-sign him though!!

Oh my God, if only we could Podolski. Smash him in a CF role behind Gabby and let the rockets fly.

Have you ever seen him play?

He gets about 1 shot on target in 6 attempts. He also doesn't like passing to his teammates half the time. Average and overrated, a player I would hope we'd stay clear of. His club record says it all.

His record for his country seems to suggest otherwise.

Unfortunately his club record contradicts his international one??

His 3 goals this year year would suggest his rockets stay airbourne longer than NASA shuttles.

I think we would have to change our kit to white shirts and black shorts, change the menu at BMH to sausage and sauerkraut and get MON and JR to start wearing matching jumpers and jackets before Lukas starting banging in the goals???

Terribly over-rated player who can only play well in four week bursts??

Bit wank that fulham have got a deal with em too, doesn't really make a

difference but it can't mean ours was 'megabucks', probably why it hasn't been disclosed....

I don't follow your logic. Please explain.

Okay, not being a dick or nowt but not that difficult a post to follow, at least I don't think anyway.

I think it takes the shine off it a little that another club, a club far smaller than us have the same.

Probably therefore means that the deal we received isn't as large as the club and we might have hoped for being that they also then decided to sponsor another club. You also have to imagine that Fulham wouldn't have been expecting a major shirt sponsorship deal and probably weren't searching for one so if the two deals are the same then it's likely that it's not for masses of money as we'd all hoped.

The above then leads to my imagining that it's the reason that no official figures have been released, Spurs, Liverpool, United etc are all happy to boast about their shirt deals whilst we've been left in the dark, probably because they don't want to seem inferior to the above mentioned....

    Does that make it clearer?

I imagine as Fulham reached the Europa Cup final and are also based in London that they would be as saleable as us in terms of shirt sponsorship as us perhaps slightly less but not massively? I think in terms of shirt sales we far out sell them but advertisers will look at overall brand exposure?

Connor Wickham, ITK according to the person who writes aston villa news and views.

also Ian Robbo has it ITK on his site.

Isnt that the same thing or is that a different site?

I know someone who played with him school level etc and said he was standout every game etc. Still sees him and says he's a proper big head etc and that now but confirmed that villa have enquired about him. Him did say he thought he would be at Ipswich at the start of the season though

He would be even if we bought him, as we'd loan him back straight away, apparently

It's a bit of a strange one this as the reported fee that Ipswich were after was in the region of £10M? Now I realise that the fee will be split into stages but That much money on a player that won't be available to use if we loan him back in the current climate is a little baffling??

  8. But if you have world class players why would you want to play them out of position in the first place to accommodate mediorce premier league players like, heskey, defoe, lennon, barry etc we have 4 players who I would put in the top 20 players in the world, rooney, gerrard, lampard and ash cole. We should build our team around them not around barry, heskey and swp.

Even Maradonna wouldn't play messi out of position or queiros play ronaldo at right back (though MON probably would? :D )

And I still can't understand why JT is not captain as he is the only natural leader in the squad (Oh wait a minute, what was that you said John?)

Like Sven, Capello has no idea when it comes to changing a system during a match.

  9. If Heskey can play consistantly, there is no doubt they he can be an assett to any team. He can suit our style of play as shown earlier in the season but as a team we've got to maintain consistancy in our football and he has to remain consistant in his performances. Milner, Young, Downing, Gabby, Delfouneso all have enough goals to make up for Heskey if we do use him.

I was listening to Radio WM last night and Cyrille regis was on and he was saying that when he has spoken to a few Villa players and they all said they prefer player with Heskey rather than Carew. It's just that the fans prefer Carew because of his goalscoring?

I agree with BOF. I think Ballack would be a good signing. I don't really like him, but he's got bags of experience and a bit of a nasty streak which I guess we could do with.

But as BOF says I don't think we're "big enough" to get him. Plus someone else will offer him wages that we can't.

I can see Ballack going to Madrid with Jose as JM likes qa couple of players of that age in his teams.

I very much doubt that Belletti will have been on modest wages at Chelski? Would be a versatile signing and has a good shot on him but again I can him going to the middle east on mega wages for a couple of seasons.

Ballack isnt good enough for Real anymore in my opinion, plus he would never start.

Ballack at Real Madrid would be like Sidwell at Villa.

In his defence Ballack at 70 would be better than Sidwell during the last couple of years? Plus Guti who is a similar age and experience as Ballack played quite a few games for RM last season so maybe he would fit in there?

  12. Thing with City is that one of the commentators on Radio 5 said that the owner was surprised there is so much fuss over wages and fees that they pay .. the amounts were small change as far as they were concerned and they could easily afford them

Yes I heard that in UAE any deal not in the billions dollar bracket is considered small fry and insignificant and a little embarassing to them? So a couple of hundred million spending spree is loose change? If they want to pay £30M for JM then take it, if we can get ireland and Onuah for £10M (as they both seem to want to leave) then that's good business for us?

Fabergas could be going for £50m so £30m for a young up and upcoming England star is more than fair ..

I thought it had been reported that Barca had only offered £30M so far, which makes £30M for Milner look even better. I know FCB will end up paying more but I don't think it will be £50M?

  13. The Sun has us linked with Adam Matthews the 18-year-old right back from Cardiff.

They also say that he would replace Luke Young who is set to join West Ham.

(I would have started a topic but I have no access to the Sun's website)

I think we've been linked to him before, so not sure whether there's much in this "rumour"..

Seen this guy play a couple of times seems very good but will probably be expensive? Shame about Luke Y always liked him and it would be a shame to see him leave. Maybe there is some truth in the rumour he wants to mob=ve back to the smoke?

  14. So far Nike have done an excellent job with our kits, I expect next year to be no different.

    Totally agree, quality products..

I think the shirt sponsor may be dependant on final league position, top 4 finish will attract better sponsor?
