BG-10, I'd say we're not in the same position at all. In my opinion we are in a false position due to inept management and certain players not performing. The squad we have is 10 times better than the one he inherited.

    Oh I 100% agree.

But randy has to take some blame for MoN leaving and has to take all the blame for hiring houllier and sticking with him. My point is that although he's been great for this club his decisions have led to us finishing on a similar points total to when he first took over us. Like I said surely in any business coming in, investing loads over years and then performing at the same poor level can't be considered a success.

Really? Randy has stood up and taken the blame as the General alluded to a few weeks back on this forum. He is a classy and respectful fellow.

You need to stop overreacting and blaming. It has been one bad season since Randy has been at this club. MON left us in a problematic situation, and Randy is still here trying to make the club a success. Look to the future now BJ10.

Yes I would say that all Chairmen make bad managerial appointments every now and again, just like managers sign some poor players. Everyone makes mistakes and what you must do is recognise those mistakes, take action, learn a lesson and don't repeat that mistake!

I hope Randy can do this and I will be quite happy to forget this season!

  2. I have just been told by a work colleague who was at a supporters club meeting last night that the info was that its going to be Benitez and its pretty much a done deal.

Lets hope that its just a rumour and incorrect at that.

well let's hope and a support group meeting is not really itk and probably just people repeating internet rumours?

The decisions should be made as soon as the season ends literally within 7 days of it ending. It sounds like they want to stick with houllier unless he says otherwise too me which is very worrying. I think there are some decent managers out there who we could possibly get but i dont think the board or randy will have the balls too do it to be perfectly honest. Lets stick with a past it manager as hes proven this season and who could at any moment be admitted to hospital leaving us with an ass man who is soo incompetent its a joke.

I too am getting very worried that we are going to dilly dally again and be left with the bunch of idiots we have at the moment or no manager in August as all the decent ones will be tied up. Another year of passionless, gutless and tepid football whilst skirting with relegation is really winding me up!

There is no way we will be skirting with relegation next season with the current management team still in place, we will be **** relegated, and it wouldnt put it past them to have it do by Xmas.

    Fair Point.

  5. Why would he get immediate respect? How do you know if some players don't rate him or like him? Personally I think getting a new manager will sort part (granted a big part) of the problem.. whilst results may improve the bad atmosphere at BMH will not go away until certain players are shifted too (imo of course)

Well I personally have never heard of any unrest in his Everton squads over the years? In fact I have never heard anyone in football say a bad word against Moyes, I may be wrong however?

MON seemed to be able to keep this squad of players in line generally (or at least it never affected performances on the pitch) but we all upset people from time to time.

  6. David Moyes is a great manager ... hes a players manager ie a man manager ..gets the best out of player , you can say he hasnt won anything -- but did get Everton to the champions league without spending big money (yes went out but) ... also a FA cup final ... Moyes would be class at villa with the backing of Randy!!

And IMO the steading hand we need ATM? I think he could work well we most of our current players and would have their immediate respect?

No thanks to Moyes, we should aim higher

I'd like somebody without anyt connection to the City of Liverpool

For me, Moyes has way too much Everton baggage

Who in your opinion would be aiming higher?

Somebody whos actually won something for a start

Well I would further caveat that and say won something recently then as Houllier has won trophies in the past and has proved that the past means very little?

I hope your choice of 'Sven' is with tongue firmly in cheek!

Sven has a very good record. Wish we'd chosen him instead of GH when we had the chance.

Yes but I get the impression that Sven makes MON look like Scrooge?

I don't know if this has already been mentioned and it is only speculation, but what about Quique Sanchez Flores of Ath Madrid. He has been linked with us, and yes i know it is TalkSport and no doubt utter drivel; but if that was to be brushed aside for a moment....What would your thoughts be if it was true? Could he inject a fresh approach and a new era at Villa Park? It would be an interesting move if the report did have some substance to it.

    http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/ ... -shortlist

I don't know much about him. I would like us to go for someone with a footballing philosophy though. Does he have it?

When I look at any manager, I always think about the players they could bring with them.

Forlan, Aguero, De Gea. All a bit optimistic - but you get he idea!

Don't know much about him either other than his Europa win but as you say he has managed some good players there.

Moyes all the way, fits well with the loyality criteria, 10 years at the same club.

How is he loyal if he leaves Everton??

I think 10 years is loyal enough? Now leaving after 10 weeks is not loyal. I think Moyes has shown enough for anyone to agree that he doesn't jump ship at the first sign of more money etc??

  11. As much as GH was doing a cracking job at Villa

Sorry have I missed something, when did GH start doing a cracking job? We have been in or close to relegation all season and we are still not safe yet with 2 games to go? GH should be sacked for his preformance this year never mind his health issues he is an idiot and rubbish manager!

  12. Moyes is my first choice but I would be happy to give Lambert a try, so long as that idiot Houllier is gone. We only require a decent manager not another made up position for a doddering old fool, we have already got one of those?

Well better than playing like a crock of shit all season?

So this season has become your standard for what we usually do? Or is it that you'll be happy with anything just so long as it's in some way better than this season? Me, I'd rather be ambitious and try to get somewhere. I'm not convinced that Moyes doesn't have the same glass ceiling that MON had.

Well I was thinking of the standard of management we have had this season under our current incumbent?

Plus Moyes had done what MON couldn't do and broken into the top 4 with Everton on one occassion with far less funds than MON had at his disposal? Of all the names realistically banded about I think Moyes is head and shoulders above the other candidates? Will he win us the league I am not so sure but IMO he will out acheive GH and MON and I would be happy with that.

    I'd rather Bruce than Houllier.

The reason why Sunderland are doing so bad is because we took their best player!

I'd rather Dave Bassett than either of those!!!

Even Fred Bassett would be a step up.

    Mike, Bertie???

I am convinced not having a manager may even improve our results?

    MatKendrick Mat Kendrick

Remarkably, I'm hearing Pardew might still be interested in taking Ireland back to Newcastle permanently next season - for a knockdown fee.

Guarantee theyve told him to fake an injury

Swap him for Enrique!!! Or a crate of Newcy Brown!! Any kind of fee for the knobhead is a bonus!!!

  16. Forget morals of poaching other teams managers, we should aim for the best we can regardless. It's only business and do you think other teams hold such high ground when it comes down to it. Morals don't win trophies and looked what happened when we last checked down the job centre?? All good managers will have a job, you have to be ruthless at times, just pay Kenwright some compo and GET MOYES!!!

  17. Well the final sentence in that article just about sums up that looney tune!!!

GH pack him in your suitcase when you return to France in May (on a one way ticket) and will you and drop him out the plane over the channel please!!
