  1. just out of curiousty why would a work permit be refused for footballers? just curious thats all.

If he is a non-EU citizen then the home office are not obliged to allow him to get into the country in order to work.

Their rather loose rule states that in order for a non-EU footballer to be eligible for a work permit:

    • [*:308de804e5]a player must have played for his country in at least 75% of its competitive 'A' team matches he was available for selection, during the two years preceding the date of the application; and
[*:308de804e5]the player's country must be at or above 70th place in the official FIFA world rankings when averaged over the two years preceding the date of the application.

The main exception is where an outstanding youngster is involved - one who couldn't feasibly have gained the necessary experience during his career to date. How they come to the conclusion the youngster is outstanding TENDS to depend on which club is asking for the permit. If you're top 4 you're quids in. If you're not, then you're probably not.

The full text is here and is based on the 08/09 season but it has not changed much, if at all, since then.

Bloody hell the home office must have been really busy over the past few years with all the influx of foreign workwers into the country?? :D

  2. unfortunatly being a box to box midfielder means being able to pass the ball if he thinks he is one of those he's mistaken more of a bollox to bollox midfielder his best position is DM/Ballwinner breaking up play he's a natural athlete.

Spot on. He doesn't have the technical ability to play as he wants to play, and doesn't have the discipline to do what is best for the team (him as a sitting deep def mid). I'm no fan of Petrov, but he is disciplined in his position, I will give him that.

He always reminds me of a that dog that chases footballs in the park, runs around like a lunatic to get it then hasn't got a clue what to do when he catches it??

  3. One player who up until this point has never caused any trouble or shown any signs of causing trouble.

One manager who has a track record of falling out with players and just ignoring them, making it seem not his fault.

There is certainly more to this, its not so clear cut.

Milner says he wants to leave to MON, thats it in MON's eyes he couldn't possibly have changed his mind and wanted to talk to MON about it, perhaps deciding he would be on the bench all the time during the World Cup.

His only contact is with our chief exec, what if he wanted to talk again to MON about the playing side?

Nope thats it, your not talking to me you've burnt your bridges.

All theoretical i know, but going by our managers past experience of being stubborn could be true.

Why does it have to be MON who has done the dirty?

From what i can gather, James Milner is now pissed off as he didnt want us fans thinking that he requested a move, MON thought **** him (and rightly so) im going to make it public and play it straight down the line saying basically ''James has asked to leave, if Man City can meet our valuation he can go''.

Milner is pissed off by all accounts because he didnt want it played out that he had requested a move.

    Well done MON

Has Milner officially requested a transfer? i.e will he recieve a percentage of the fee? To say that would be a bit annoying is an understatment!

  4. I see a story where Sullivan has come out and said "Villa would not have enough money to buy Parker", I don't know if I should be sadder that he's right, or that we would so aggressively be pursuing SCOTT PARKER to replace Milner. Even though I think he's a good player.

He just never stops being jealous of us does he the short fat clearing in the woods!!!

Apparently said we haven't got enough money!!!! Ha wouldn't want us to give it to him!!

  5. Flamini would be fantastic - and for £5m if the story is to be believed.

He is obviously too young to get into Milan's first XI. Perhaps he could also smuggle KVH in when he comes across?

This would be a great buy.

MON won't like his attitude though??

I think KJH must have been kidnapped by human trafficers and is now called Janet and is working in a massage parlour in Salford because no has seen him since he landed in Manchester yesterday??? :D

  6. apparently citeh have "hit a brick wall" in reports today and will look elsewhere

i dont know about everyone else but imd elighted, we are hsowing signs that we wont be pushed around. first liverpool, now citeh

    Mixed feelings for me.

Happy that we kept our best player but sad that we would have drastically reduced our transfer budget

    I know what you mean.

I just get the feeling that we could get 2 or 3 real gems of players with this money? (Other trouble is can we trust MON to unearth them?)

  7. He doesnt play regularly at Milan, not even remotely close to the French national team. Im pretty sure none of the big 4 clubs would be interested.

    Why not?

Ideal Petrov replacement in the short/long term.

Arse have never quite replaced him and lost alot of steel out of their midfield.

However to guy does have a history of leaving clubs on bad terms?

  8. Alexis Sanchez, make it happen MON.

A player with potential but right now all he really does is dribble and is fast. His technical ability when it comes to passing and finishing is pretty poor and physically he is weak. I'm not sure if we can improve him enough to in turn improve the side. I'd take that Mauricio Isla at right back though. if we're talking Chileans.

Sanchez didnt really impress me at the World Cup with his final ball. Reminds me of a young Cristiano Ronaldo with dribbling and no end product

Sounds quite like McGeady aswell who we are going to pay £10M for apparently???

  9. He is 33 and can still do it for a club like Villa as he has an amazing brain and 2 great feet. Plus his signing would be like when Chelsea signed Gullit. It makes other players take notice of Villa

Still can't see either MON or Raul being remotely interested in this one. He will more than likely head for one of the middle east leagues and pick up mega bucks in an easy league?

  10. Well obviously you have Delph coming through aswell!

If Gilberto Silva can still do it for Brazil then i see no reason why Parker doesnt have a few years left in him...

All i do know is, as long as it's not Nigel Reo-coker... we'll be okay!

Gilberto Silva always has a younger more dynamic defensive midfielder alongside him, usually Melo. Plus petrov is not in the same league as Gilberto in terms of quality?

  11. What worries me most is the prospect of having petrov and parker in the same midfield. Teams would just waltz through the middle of us IMO? Parker is playing well in a poor Spam side but I think we need a more dynamic box to box player?

    What?

    No way?

If we could get Petrov and Parker both playing in the defensive midfield role, and then have Ash and Downing on the wings, Sacrifice Carew or Heskey and play Ireland off Gabby... that would be a unbelievable team in my opinion...

    ---- --------Gabby --------

    Young ---------Ireland--------Downing

    --------Parker -------- Petrov -----

    I like that!

We will have to agree to disagree on that one, an uunbeleivably poor midfield IMO.

  12. Really pissed off with the West Ham 'bracing' themselves for us to bid for Parker story!!!!

Can't see why we would want to replace Milner (one of the countries brightest prospects) with a past it player who has found his own level playing for a crappy team?

Porno dwarves you can keep him!!! We don't want him, (hopefully?).

I see what you are saying about replacing Milner with a player of Parkers age! However, I totally disagree about him being past it. I'd say Parker is playing the best football of his career, apart from that year at Charlton he had which attracted the interest from Chelsea.

 you don't get much more dynamic than Scott Parker!

    James Milner?

Anyway it won't happen according to the porno dwarves and their mouth piece?
