  1. i think lampard is a better fit than gerrard,

i dont see chelsea taking lamps again but you knew know,

however if stevie g was going well & klopp finished he be off like a shot,

every manager is a risk in many ways but thats the nature of the game

    again the money...

west ham spent £100m on 2 players and then sold them both at a loss, everton are nearly the same, spurs, arsenal, utd, chelsea teams we've played this season £100m is 1 or 2 players

when arsenal beat us they had a £80m player on their bench, a player who cost more than both of our record signings added together on the bench, arsenal's top 5 signings, who are all still at the club, cost a total of £276m, all of this spending smith supposedly did came to around £320m...thats for 32 players...£50m more for 27 players more, yet we seem to think that we should be finishing above them because we spent money? that doesnt make sense, our spending is still way off some of these clubs that are above us

i hear you , however .. if you look at how DS set up in some games you do have to question it , the results & table dont lie, southampton should have been 3 up in 45mins & garzi in the early bath,

new manager, new chapter, as lambert said "we go again"

  3. figures ,, football is all about figures.

    10 points from 11 games,

    100m spent,

theirs a start , a middle & a end , DS was at the end with his points & performances , its his team, his signings .

its simple-the club & DS move on

He's too old, he is currently managing Netherlands national team and I am sure he has also retired from club football.

If he was 10 years younger then would have definately been a good shout.

i did not know if he was , i just know he did a good job at man u & won a trophy their, in his pomp 10 yrs ago you get the elite clubs after him , if he were free now i would take him

Feel so low and sad about the Villa waking up this morning. Wish I couldnt care as much. Theres no obvious candidate to come in right now and if I was an opposition and saw no Konsa, Luiz, Ings, Traore who are 4 viable starters; id fancy my chances. We are so fragile and the nerves on the players faces 1st half is a personality thing. When it rains it pours and they’re all feeling that. Matt Targett fair play on being brutally honest in his interview. 2nd half was much better, there was some heart on display; as was the case down to 10 men against West Ham. Just cant bank on these players starting like that in the next game though thats the issue. Pfftttt what more can you say, sad times, but we’re so used to it at Villa. Big hole to dig ourselves out of now.

dont let this bunch ruin your weekend , they are are well over paid like the manager, they are all alright mate.

what really is grating  smith on this game is villa were beat in every way,

take a step back & look ..their manager got their goal & when the time was right he took players off to sure it up,they did not need a 2nd goal..now did smith do this v wolves? NO!  thats the difference .

was villa hard done by ? a dodgy pen or the like? nope

same for west ham, villa have no complaints nor does smith

  6. most teams have a samson , this bloke breaks down more than a fiat clio ,

over the years we have some dead beats who are just their, in the team photo..you know them ..salifu etc

if he can not get a game in the current midfield theirs something wrong & you have to says its ability.

villa will mask it with "injury,,,, not ready yet,,,not up to speed,,not match fit"

another 15m wasted by smith bottom line

Fair question. He might not. But I’d like think we’re big enough to be able to persuade a Brighton manager to join us.

the CEO has a vision of playing euro footie,

its wont happen under the current manager employed at villa, thats all villa can offer -a vision ..it might be enough

  8. i think he will come good , he ripped up the championship.

when villa go down he must stay as he can do it in championship .

hes done nothing the prem ever , with villa or norwich .

at 40m its a snip when you think no one will buy him off villa & you have a ready made player for the championship.

in short -a clucking waste of 40m spent, very poor

So Adam Armstrong breaks his goal drought against us.....how many times has that happened.

    You could write the script.

This team is not easy to beat, more like, desperately easy to beat.

i did not see armstrong getting the lime light, i thought jwp would get it,

the frighting thought is we have to play them again this season so theirs still time for jwp to take it

ohh on the game.. played for 10 mins after the break ,

please dean dont mention winning at old trafford when were poised to drop into the relegation places thanks

  10. the day jack left you posted a video about ambition of getting villa playing European football,

you painted a vision & a model of ASTON VILLA moving forward.

after another bad fun villa are now poised to drop into the relegation places .

do you think the manager is still the right man after the investment of multi millions spent in the summer ?

  11. genuine thread, like it or leave it ,,the table does not lie.

time to dig in, start playing solid players in middle , mcginn & doug,

the rest are just not up to the battle in many ways,

emi -not seen any thing yet

    nakamba-terrible

play for draws, sit back & hit it long to olly , bout it with this bunch ,,playing the way DS is is clearly not working .

  12. when jack left the club , the CEO put out a video, that video showed ambition, the owners have a model of avfc, a vision , if they want that vision to become a reality i dont think DS is the man
