Remove the white star and white 1874.

Then either make the lion bigger and leave it alone with Aston Villa, or move the lion down and put the 1874 in Claret above it

Mad thing is, most of us are happy to accept some iteration of it, but a much larger percentage wouldnt choose this. They’ve made a pigs ear of it.

I’d rather take the new lion and AVFC than this, its too jumbled.

You cant see any of it now at a distance. At least Lerners one you could make out AVFC. At least people who didnt know it at a glance might google AVFC. Now its just a garbled mess.

Yes. I don't quite subscribe to the standard view every goal Olsen lets in Emi could save in his sleep. However the second would be textbook Martinez save on a one on one I think, just getting his body to block the shot and keep it out. Fourth took a horrible deflection but it was still very close to Olsen and you feel Emi would've twisted his body quicker and deflected it away.

Agreed, and we cant expect olsen to be as good as he is. But i think he blocks that one v one and punches the deflected goal clear.

I am not sure  we could regularly fill over 50k, nevermind 60k.

Our fan base is fickle and not that dedicated when results drop off.

When in Championship our average attendance was 32k, while Newcastles was 51k...98% capacity of their stadium.

Thats poor isnt it! Compared to Newcastle

Just wanna say big thanks for Betano for giving us this deal and helping us with the revenue. 40 million for 2 seasons brilliant.
No one, or no company is forcing anyone to gamble, its a personal decision. If you have a gambling addiction I personally think there only one person to blame, and that's yourself.  Same for drinking, crypto, gaming, sex, smoking, football manager addictions.

I think he's our best player.

We have a LOT of really good players.

I still think he needs a leader next to him to do the organising but the guy is an absolute rolls royce. Just got better and better and better.

It would be great if this happens. We can show the league What we are about. Plus the team need a lift after that hard fought win.

    UTV

I remember liverpool doing something similar for abit, full flares and smokes for the coach, looked mint, got absolutely ridiculed by other fans.

Well having checked out the new Olympic stadium in Egypt built by our owners company we certainly have the expertise to build a mega stadium.

Add to that the expertise on rail and mono rail we have just employed something is clearly in the pipeline.

Its not the owners or money though its the companies in the Uk that can do such a project.

There arent many, and the ones that can dont want the project at the cost originally specced up… at the moment.

Will absolutely have to get to a meeting next time I'm back in the city!

We’re pretty well supported across london tbh, i see shirts fairly regularly. Where did you move to? Might be one there.

As someone who grew up in London and held an interest in Villa before 'officially' supporting, I was annoyed by but understood the "why Villa?" question in an age where Chelsea were very good and also not far from where I lived. Now, after moving out of the city, I have had people online calling me a bandwagoner etc. Hope nobody else on this thread has experienced the latter but to be honest I don't really care at the moment. Regardless of where someone is from, if they are Villa they are part of the family.

Ah **** em mate, who gives a shite! Alot of the london lions like myself are ex pat brummies. But also plenty of none brummies too, all welcome. Get yourself to a meet up! Glad to have ya.

Surely it was cancelled cos they fancy a move? I mean you don’t extend your house if you don’t see your future there.

The construction company that were originally tendered for the job dont want it at the price villa were willing to pay. At least that what someone that works for that company have said.

  11. Theres very active north, east, south and west london lions clubs that all meet for home games and always ask for full ballot for all away games.

Best bet is follow the facebook groups for the meets. They post most stuff up there!

At the end of the season if we dont qualify for CL next season (either in 4th or 5th position), we are not good enough "the league table doesn't lie".

However if we don't qualify my fear is that some of our players will be looking to join a club that has qualified for CL....

Think this is huge point. Be classic villa to get almost their, miss out then have the team gutted and we set back 2/3 years.

As per @alreadyexists's thread in the Bournemouth (h) match section. The 1897 Group (and any other like-minded Villa fans that want to be a part of doing something about the recent below-par VP atmosphere too!) following a positive meeting with the club have been given a fantastic opportunity for the Bournemouth (h) game. As Bournemouth haven't taken their full allocation, the club have offered block P9 in the Upper Doug Ellis  to supporters who wish to be vocal and create an atmosphere in addition to banners/flags in this area.

To clarify, there will be no extra charge or anything for those fans wishing to join The 1897 Group in block P9 for Bournemouth.

Many VT'ers and supporters from the wider AVFC community have been critical of the atmosphere of late in this thread and this is a real opportunity for us to do something about it. As Bournemouth haven't taken the upper tier of what is usually the away end, this opens a section for like-minded Villa fans to get together in one section of Villa Park without displacing other supporters from their seats.

To relocate for Bournemouth at home, enter your name and FAN ID on this Google doc: Aston Villa vs Bournemouth - 1897 Group opportunity

Many of us have been critical of the VP atmosphere in this very thread and it's high time to do something about it. This is a great foot in the door opportunity for those of us who want to vocally support the team for 90 minutes in our wonderful stadium, particularly for a game against an opponent on a Sunday afternoon where it would typically be a bit flat.

Fair play by the club this.

    Needs to be announced properly
