Mitrovic and Praat double swoop would be lovely. May as well go for Tielemans too if we're already shopping in the Anderlecht store
-
Borini
Balotelli
Ings
Sturridge
Lambert
Origi
Firmino
So that's 7 players that Liverpool have who can play centre forward. I think they may struggle to shift Borini, Lanbert and Balotelli so if that's the case, can you see them stumping up the readies?

Alderweireld to Spurs is one of those transfers that just makes sense. Very very good player and a shrewd signing for them, the bastards
-
He's the real deal. http://www.whoscored.com/Players/134902/This is all too good to be true isn't it? Have we really got all this money?
Not seen the lad play but the stats and those who have seen him play, show him to be one of the best young left backs in the world right now...
3 man of the matches in his last 10 games from left back (as a 21 year old) is pretty **** impressive

Cracking bit of business, for the quoted fee it's an absolute no brainer. Seems like he has a good attitude as well. Welcome aboard Scott!

Today's result and performance could actually be a bit of a blessing in disguise. You wonder if some over confidence had crept in to some of the players following our recent good run and this will remind them ( and Tim ) that nothing can be taken for granted. I think it's also nigh on impossible that we can play this badly again this season so at least we've got that performance out of the way in a game we didn't need to win, rather than in the cup final which would be far more humiliating!
-
What is going on with the back four? Why are we pushing up so much? They've got loads of pace and people who run behind so it's absolutely suicidical
-
What the **** is going on!

One aspect that I think has been overlooked is that we're now playing the 4-3-2-1 or 'Christmas Tree' formation. An obvious modern example is of course the great 'Ancellotti' AC Milan team, with Kaka and Rui Costa as the two number 10's (a la Grealish and NZog )
Now before everyone kicks off, I'm not for one second comparing Ashley Westwood to Andre Pirlo, however....
The number 4 is a key position in this system. This is the man who is flanked by two high energy midfielders (Gattuso+Seedorf/Delph+Cleverley), and whose job is to pick out the number 10's, pick out the striker, and dictate the play. If you watch Westwood closely during the West Ham 1st half, you can see he is dictating the pace and and tempo, and picking out the midfielders in forward areas. Pirlo was the key man in the Milan Christmas tree, and redefined the role of the deep lying playmaker.
Now we have a settled formation, line up, and a run of good performances, I fully expect Westwood to kick on, and really start to show off his passing range. I think it's also important to note the tempo of football in England is a lot higher than Italy and Europe, and therefore Westwood naturally has to move the ball quicker, sharper and shorter.
Bang on. This formation really suits us at the moment as well as Grealish's natural inclination is to cut in from the left and Nzogbia to cut in from the right. With this formation, they both have the freedom to drift wide or come in more centrally and because they've both got good movement (compared to Gabby or Wiemann) we look like we've always got good passing options than when we play 4-3-3

Ryan Babel. Currently plying his trade at Kasimpasa in Turkey. Still only 28

Like the look of Robertson so would be happy with that if true. Alex Pritchard at Bournemouth has been excellent this season on loan from Spurs, wonder if we're having a look at him as well? Looks a cracking little player
-
Corners were excellent yesterday, remember him struggling with them in the QPR game but they were bang on the money yesterday.
He's playing well at the moment but could probably be a little bit more direct at times, think he'll be even better once he gets his first goal for us
-
Mental. The 3 teams in the relegation zone all have a better defensive record than the league leaders, haha
-
The offside call was incorrect but it was very tight and seen them given both ways. I'm more annoyed with Nzogbia, he just delayed the pass far too much when he didn't really need to
-
Style wise, he reminds me a bit of Steve Mcmanaman actually, same kind of languid style but can go past players for fun

It's his ability to find space and pick the correct option which is the most exciting thing for me. I've seen loads of youngsters over the years who can dribble past players, be selfish but then have little end product but the timing and weight of his passing was absolutely faultless yesterday.
As many have said before, the only thing I'd like to see a bit more of is a willingness to shoot or really drive at defenders when he gets to the edge of the box, with his footwork he's likely to get into a scoring chance or gain a penalty. I think he will be even better when he gets his first goal though. Hleb comparison is quite a good one actually, he was a very underrated player for Arsenal and almost impossible to get the ball off!

Not an old name but someone mentioned Kenwyne Jones the other day, had completely forgotten about him
-
It's Skrtel's heart.
Bravo!

Stephan el Shaarawy. Was supposed to be the next big thing but completely forgotten about him until I heard his name recently
-
Some finish that was!
-
Rooney has been pinging it around lovely so far
-
Wrong option there. Good move though
-
That was a foul on Okore as well. This ref has been a disgrace today
-
Their crowd are really going to get on there back as well now

No chance for Feghouli I wouldn't have thought. Quite like the bits I've seen of Slimani at the World Cup, he works hard, he's aggressive and looks like he can finish too.
