  1. i know it is these odds for a very good reason but i honesly have never seen odds that long for outright winner of any premiership game. well i thought it was worth a tenner anyway...probably be saying 'what was i thinking' at 3.30pm tomorrow

  2. this may well get locked but i personally it deserves its own thread, as i've just seen that we are a ridiculous 14/1 just for the win tomorrow. i say that again, FOURTEEN TO ONE! yes i know people are going to say that odds are that long for a reason but personally i think that is a massive piss take against us. the lower league teams wouldnt have odds that long when they play prem teams in the cups. with this in mind as a big 2 fingers up to william hill, i have put down a tenner on it...stranger things have happened. whos with me??

  3. by the way anyone concerned about their away history and not being able to get a ticket, i had the 5 required but my mate didnt. also know others with less aways that managed to get tickets...some of them dont check your history. give it a go, you might get lucky

  4. 2,500 are they taking the piss? We would fill half the ground if they gave it to us and they are hardly likely to fill the seats up.

we barely broke the 37k mark yesterday for a game that we always used to sell out...id be surprised if even the initial allocation got sold with the way things are at the moment

EDIT 13/12 - just got my sheff utd ticket and they only 100 left of initial allocation for wigan

  5. has anyone given any thought to what sacking houllier and having a 4th manager for the youngsters in the last 6 months would do to the squad?? we are in a bad spell at the moment but sacking GH at this stage would put the club into turmoil. if he were to be sacked today, i would personally love to give everyone a big fat 'i told you so' when we go down. give the guy a break, give him a transfer window and a fully fit squad then judge him. if by feb 1st where the team are in theory fully fit and hes had a chance to strengthen and we are still playing shite then ill eat humble pie.

  6. From Sunday People:

GERARD HOULLIER will be handed a stunning transfer kitty by Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner – with up to £30million to spend in the January transfer window.

The Frenchman has been told the cheque book will come out for him to bring in three, four or possibly even more fresh faces in the new year rush for players.

People Sport can reveal that Manchester United’s Michael Carrick, Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis McGugan and Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz are on his hit list.

Houllier has the green light to invest as Lerner thinks it is time to open the coffers after slamming them shut for Martin O’Neill.

The American owner has now had a change of approach and the profits from last summer – when James Milner was sold to Manchester City in a deal that brought in £17m plus Steven Ireland – will now be spent.

And Lerner is also going to free up around £10m more, with even extra sums available if players move out in the window.

Houllier has let some of Villa’s talented kids play this season but knows that cannot be the long-term solution. But it has shown that the club can now move out fringe men who are not needed.

Steve Sidwell, Curtis Davies, John Carew and even stand-in skipper Nigel Reo-Coker may find themselves out of the door.

If Houllier (above) could raise a further £6m to £8m by selling those men he would be in a position to really go for a massive revamp just months into the post.

Houllier and his staff are actively working on targets. Carrick has been on the radar for weeks – as People Sport first revealed – and McGugan’s form has shot him into the frame.

The Villa chief knows that a couple of new midfielders, with creation and drive, would put his stamp on the side after the O’Neill era of high-energy players.

And Houllier is also desperate for a forward, with Santa Cruz a possibility. The Paraguayan is available and has a chance of going to Leicester City on loan for a month to get his fitness back.

Houllier knows that Carew is likely to go in the summer, or earlier, so he is looking for a senior front man to take his place.

Houllier getting a (reported) 30m to spend in the summer...so how do you think that should be spent? Think a striker is a must, but not sure about Santa Cruz. Id be surprised if he is on GHs shortlist anyway to be honest think he must have a few good French lads in mind...Benzema maybe?

  7. Just started a game with Villa. Struggling to off-load any of my players, can't shift Heskey or Davies. I've signed Anthony Annan, Oscar Cardoza and a young left back whose name I can't remember now. Got Cardoza for 10m and Annan for 2.8m, had to readjust my budgets just afford Annan's 28k a week wages, thank's to O'Neill dishing out mega money to any he fancied! Might try and shift Beye to clear some wages, to see if anybody is interested.

having the same prob...can buy one player but cant shift any others. the likes of nrc have contracts running out and i cant even afford to renew them.

6th after 15 games so not bad so far...lucas barrios was a good find for me

  8. Proudly posted on the Small heath Alliance forum, which is a very funny read

This is what the scum did to our toilets.

Well we always knew they dont ever use them. Just piss and shit all over each other 8)

Oh, and the lulus are already planning their annual ambushing of women and Children.

the bogs at st andrews last season didnt look much better to be fair

  9. If it is to be SHA, I'd actually prefer it to be at their place. I couldn't bear having 6,500 of them at VP, whilst we would probably get the whole of the Railway End there.

there is no way that the police would allow that many away fans at either game

  10. cant see it selling out as we struggled to sell 1200 less tickets or spurs an there only 3 quid difference in the price

Spurs is crap though. Fulham is a great away day. £20 rtn on the train. Me and about 8 mates will be going.

true...fulham has always been considered one of the better aways. certianly one of my favourites

  11. Hi all

before every game i join a forum to ask questions about the game and how both clubs will fare in the season.

If you could answer these questions then please do and thank you all.

Good luck for the season, and lets hope you beat SmallHeath and the Bennies.
