  1. Cheats. No credit should be given to ANYTHING they have won since 2008 and anyone who watches their games (except against their own club) has to have a word with themselves in my opinion.

If everyone boycotted them, things would maybe be different. People watching them justifies their cheating.

Stop watching these cheating bastards. They are killiing our game.

  2. Title chase?

Come on, this can't be serious.

Man City finished 23 points above us this season and it was our best season in years. They will win it again of course, but we can hopefully finish 4th again and close the points gap even just a little bit.

You're so, so wrong on this IMO. I don't like his liking of posts etc, but his potential is clearly huge. Whether he has the drive to fulfill it, is very much in question.

I think he will go for 20-25m plus some add ons but people saying things like "at least 40m" are overvaluing a player who has played in the US farmers league and been a sub for a season in the PL. On top of that, he is known to have a pretty poor attitude and we need to make sales in order to build.

If we do get 40m, I will be delighted and amazed.

    It's just not happening.

My experience of blues away is it being policed to within an inch of its life resulting in a long boring day

The trouble on the way back to town after the 0-0 was horrendous. Really awful. Cornered in a side street, loads of Villa running, many getting a kicking, blood everywhere. It was nasty and I will never, ever go back.

I guess it depends on the game you go to.  I was at Villa v Blues 2003 and it was carnage that was Monday night and the Saturday after went to Celtic v Rangers.  Was a walk in the park in comparison.

Not saying that is always the same just my little experience of the 2.

Ive been to most big derbies in the world and Blues v Villa as an away fan was the worst experience Ive ever had at a football match. The walk back to the city centre was carnage with a LOT of violence from their lot. England v Russia in Marseille at Euro 2016 was also terrifying.

The next derby that was really full on was Boca v River Plate, which I attended at both grounds. The game at Boca kicked off outside and missiles were being thrown into the away end. (Not condiments either, like our Polish friends)

Flamengo v Vasco Da Gama was similarly violent with riot police drafted in from all around the region to deal with chaos.

Zagreb v Hajduk Split was also madness.

Celtic v Rangers has a reputation steeped in the past and basically down to religion. I absolutely would not count the 2024 version of the Old Firrm as the worst derby.

We paid £18m and his FFP book value is now £13.5m.

So even if we sold him for £20m plus achievable add-ons we’d be making a decent profit.

And that's what I think will happen.

I think your valuation is way off, he is under contract, we don’t need to sell, someone wants to turn his head, they can bloody well dig deep.  Particularly Chelsea who are using Monopoly money and seem oblivious to PSR rules.

    Get with the program! 😉

Chelsea have got to be more careful aboit PSR now. I am already with the programme thanks. Quite literally.

But surely you don’t need to visit Blues or Baggies forums to see “how we are perceived”? It’s **** obvious :D

Clearly, which is why I wrote a new line that said "As for our rivals, well, their forums are just hilarious".

Why do people visit the forums of rival clubs?  I don't get it.

I go on lots of football forums for a variety of reasons.

I also go to non Villa matches all over the world.

Your own club's forums are often an echo chamber so I like to see how we are perceived outside of our bubble.

As for our so called rivals, well, their forums are just hilarious.

I don't ever post on other team's forums though. I am merely a browser.

Surely not?  Argentina vs Brazil is horrible - they hate each other.  I understand that Argentina also dislike England, but it just can't be on the same level.  Didn't it all kick off during the last Argentina/Brazil game?

Yep. They hate England  in football terms and they have not forgotten the Falklands.

If you ask Argentinians which team they most want to beat, the majority will say England.

Glad that you aren’t running clubs accounts

I think whoever was running the accounts, massively over paid for him at the time, and I would value him now at around what we did pay.

    20-25 mil or so.

    That's my opinion.

We shall soon see if it's right or not.

Didn’t we pay nearly £20m for him? We’re not going to sell him for less than £30m imo.

We paid less than 20m but we need to make sales in order to comply with FFP and be able to reinvest.

If we dont reveive a bid of 30m then we can't sell him for 30m.

He isnt worth that much and his attitude isn't what we need around the club so I think 20-25m is the most we would get.

    Id take that happily.

Germany I think considers Italy the main football rival over Netherlands

Nope. It's definitely Holland. And having lived there for a while and going to Boca games on a regular basis, I can say for sure Argentina consider England as their biggest rival. Not Brazil.

Wow. The biterness towards us here is off the scale. SHA levels of hatred and jealousy.

"They repulse me, any chance they can bang on about 1982 they will.....and do!

They couldnt even beat the part time plate smashers in the comic version of the Champions League, now they think they are elite!!  ???"

    |"Had to chuckle on twitter, John Percy posted that appointing Unai Emery was the turning point in Viles upwards trend, whilst some wag albeit true said the turning point was when goal line technology had it's biggest failure ever at seal park!"
"I hate them with a passion and feel physically sick that they got into the champions league, but it was always likely when their major competition was spurs.

At least the scum didn't win the conference pears whatever, as some on here predicted.

I now hope that get battered in all 8 games they have in the champions League and know when they are eliminated they won't be dropping into the Europa league.

It just a massive shame that there isn't a preliminary round anymore where they could get knocked out like Everton were a few years back.

Hopefully, they waste millions on more donkeys like Diaby and Ty he long term effects are like they were under Lerner."

JJ and Luiz is 150 on their own, and yes we will sell players, it remains to be seen if we are selling any top players, I seriously doubt it.

Ramsey 35m and Luiz 75m is about where I see it given the new profit and sustainability rules. Clubs just don't have te money to spend on big transfers atm and fees will be slightly lower than you may think but let's see.

We will certainly be selling players. Whether or not they are top players is debatable but I can definitely see Luiz going.

I was at that game, and every Villa player, bar none, was having a stinker. The travelling Villa fans were mightily pissed off, and giving it "You're not fit to wear the shirt" with both barrels. But there were a few pissed-up meatheads down the front who were targeting Savo with particular venom - and he reacted. Wrong, but understandable.

I was, bizarrely, at Highfield Rd that day, watching a cracking 2-2 draw between Coventry and Arsenal. (Think there were a couple of red cards and penalties.)

When the news came through that we had lost 5-0, you can imagine the roar from the Cov fans. The most one sided rivalry in all of football. Representatives for North East Somerset
