Forest have a £100m team, we held our own. We played well against city. Unbeaten in 4, it’s going in the right direction.

We’ve started badly that’s clear for all to see, this evening wasn’t easy viewing but after the way arsenal have been playing did we really expect anything? Are we expecting anything Saturday? We will more than likely get beat but we aren’t competing with these top teams this season. Why would the hatred of the manager get worse after losing to the best 2 teams in the league? As I’ve been criticised before in saying we employed an inexperienced manager who is finding his feet. He’s struggling and needs to be backed. Look at arsenal last year they were getting smashed by Brentford, Chelsea and Man City, people were screaming for arteta’s head saying he’s clueless, out of his depth but they gave him the season. Had a run of winnable games and he turned it around. This season they are pushing on as a United group. Why couldn’t this happen for gerrard? We have an extended break this season at least give him till the World Cup. People on here saying “I hope we lose to apply more pressure” are genuinely pathetic.

Who would you realistically replace him with? It’s like you all want the comfort of a dinosaur but then moan when we win dull games. Gerrard will get us organised, playing well and push on from there. We got rid of smith early in my opinion would have loved dean to still be there now but I don’t see anyone available right now that would be better than what we’ve got. We will most likely get beat in the next two games but we aren’t competing with arsenal and Man City. But this is the time the whole team and management need us. It’s not hard.

We employed an inexperienced manager with a long term vision. It’ll be irresponsible to sack him at the first real dip in form. Ok I may have described it badly above but realistically what we’re we expecting this season? Mid table max. We won’t go down so let him adapt this year and push on next year. He did it with rangers.

We’ve got him for another 3 years. Letting him learn this season will benefit us long term. His personal development is arguably more important than the teams results. One step backwards. 2 steps forward.

Gerrard is inexperienced we all knew this. This is his first real challenge as a manager and a crucial time for all of us.turn on him now and it could not only destroy him but turn a potentially good season into another relegation battle. Given time he’ll get it sorted.

Hi Villa Talk, life long villa fan; born in Birmingham and still live here. First game was in 1991 a 0-0 draw with Liverpool. Greatest day was the carling cup victory at Wembley in 1994 beating Man Utd. there’s been plenty of ups and downs since then: got a really good feeling about the current squad and direction the board are looking to take us in. Was gutted for Smith being let go last year, I honestly think he would have achieved what we achieved last year. the jury is still out on Gerrard but I’m fully behind him and think he has the potential to take us to the next level. He is relatively inexperienced which I think is being highlighted at the moment but he needs the support of every at VP. We need to make it an intimidating place for the opposition again and not hostile towards our own team. This will be a big 6 months but I hope we stick with him or we’ll waste another season. UTV
