  1. No thanks to Barnes, Leicester would want mega money & to be honest I've watched him a few times this season & meh to inconsistent for me & we have players like that already, want the finished article now, yes please to Ferran Torres & Nico Williams, now these are upgrades, could we really be spending £100 million on both ? Or is one option A & other option B ...

If you hear anyone mentioning "net spend" in relation to FFP, you can safely disregard everything they say. Basically they have no clue how football accounting works.

😫 you know how to ruin a weekend

  3. Heard on a Podcast earlier, think it was Villa view, Bardell & Greg Evans saying our net spend over the last 2 seasons was £40 million, which will set us up nicely to spend big in the summer if required. Sorry I have no science behind this, just excitement

This is likely his agent letting Villa know he wants a pay rise.

We gave him one just before the world Cup, we extended his contract 👍think he is on £7.5 million a year now

Dibu Martínez is likely to change clubs in June. It does not have an exit clause. There are three Premier League clubs that have it in the pipeline:
Tottenham -with more interest, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Very likely to go a step further in the next market.

No team in Italy will be able to afford Martinez, Spurs & Chelsea are clubs in a right mess, Chelsea won't be able to spend that kind of money because of there spending in January & as for Spurs ......  do me a favour 🤦‍♂️ silly season has already started, If anybody has listened to his interviews lately specially the Ian Wright one on YouTube, you would all come to the assumption that he will be staying put 💪 he loves this club ❤️

Wasn't that great in the air for their goal.

Not sure you can pin that on Mings, Ramsey was the one who was marking their goalscorer, Mings looks like he was zonal marking.

if mings and white dont make the next squad then its nothing to do with football, white we already kind of know about but mings is interesting because they kept it very quiet, 14 clean sheets in 17, 3rd choice and starting at the euros, dropped and ignored while england conceded a record number of goals

southgate is a **** idiot but he cant be that incompetent, no doubt he will want to see a bit more of that stones + maguire partnership vs malta (as well as kane up front to see what he can do)

Agreed on Southgate, Maguire will be in the next squad without a doubt, Luke Shaw is keeping him out the Man utd team & he's a fullback 🤦‍♂️ what is Maguire 4th or 5th choice? Never seen that before a 4th or 5th choice centre back at a club makes the National team & starts 🤔  Dunk for Brighton is another shout, had a great season but also ignored, just baffling.

  8. Think he will be a squad player next season unless a silly offer comes in for him, which I very much doubt, but this is where we may see him grow as a player, definitely think he has ability just getting it out of him consistently is the issue. If anybody can get a tune out of him I'm sure it will be Emery although no signs of improvements so far 😫

I've been highly critical in the past so I also need to give him big praise.

Pretty much ever since Unai stepped through the door, Konsa has been getting back to the high level we saw when he first arrived. Like a lot of others in here, I'm very pleased his general ball playing abilities are beginning to show. That was probably one of my biggest problems previously.

Also this is a great stat that hasn't been posted:

I'm not sure how he does it but just like the Grealish days, it's a huge benefit to us.

The nest at it in the Premier league very clever how he does it but also so simple, gets his body in-between plater & ball & goes down, its that simple he must do it 3 or 4 times a game, it's very effective as it gives the back four a breather & enables us to reset.

  10. Arsenal have been playing Ben White all season at fullback, so don't see why konsa can't do it he has done it before if it means getting Carlos alongside Mings, but saying that Konsa has been very impressive alongside Mings, specially defensively where Carlos would give you an upgrade would be his passing, & that would add to the way we play out from the back. But would you put Konsa at fullback over Ashley or Cash when fit ? It's a nice problem to have for a change, but yep Diego Carlos looks a player even in the very limited time we've seen him play, so glad he is back from his really bad injury & looking in great shape, be interesting if we do add another centre back in the summer, specially with the form of Konsa under Emery.

  11. Be a great test for him & Konsa, be interesting to see how long Gareth Southgate can carry on ignoring him & it's not as if he has played for England as yet, he has 17 caps I think with 14 clean sheets ffs 😡 the only English centre half I'd put ahead of Mings at the moment is Stones, I'd say Ben White's had an outstanding season also but he has been playing fullback.i'd also say Konsa gas been excellent also since Emery came in.

  12. All this mentality talk, UTV podcast was banging on about it yesterday. I watched the game yesterday & thought we were decent, we had most the possession most the shots & most shots on target compared to Wolves, we've had 3 big chances yesterday that 3/4 weeks ago those chances were going in, so to me there were no difference in performance or stats than previous weeks where we've won, on that 10 game unbeaten run there was couple games where we didn't play to well & won, mentality was said then, it's was we were clinical. The Man utd game thought we had some good moments in that game where we could of snatched a draw, but sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition, & if you watched that game you could tell Utd did the homework, stopping out midfield on the half turn that would enable us to drive at the Man utd Defence, they stopped that in snapping into tackles, admittedly if the yellow cards had come out early doors that may of changed them getting tackles in early but was allowed to do that most game. Its nice knowing teams are having to do there homework now where as before they just had to turn up or just had to concentrate on one player to stop us. The mentality has changed since Emery has come in & I haven't seen it wavier, I've seen the same philosophy in ever game we've played under Emery, yesterday was no difference. If anything the difference at the moment is the quality in some area's & our lack of squad depth when we get injuries, but I'm pretty sure that will be addressed in the summer.

  13. If you look at it as a whole, I feel we were in a false position with teams like Liverpool & Brighton with games in hands & now there taking them games in hand & winning. Even from our 10 game unbeaten run we still had to be pretty much perfect until end of season to get a European spot & it was a tall order to keep going, our last 4 or 5 weeks with our injuries has not helped at all & there only coming back now with 3 games to go. But what Emery has done since he has been in he has found out who he can keep & who he can trust on the pitch & who he can't & I'm sure most people with a football brain can assume who they are. Emery has changed the mentally at this club & with a new sporting director coming in soon a new scout appointed in Spain things are definitely going in the right direction m, everything feels like we're a big club again with the right people in the right positions at the club, it's disappointing that it looks like we will miss out on some sort of European football but there is so much to be excited about going into the summer transfer market & next season.

Didn't see the game as I was working but that's disgusting

It is, it worse than I first thought his arm goes out towards the ball, how VAR looking at that cannot see its a handball & a penalty beggars belief 🤦‍♂️ really thought if we'd have got an equaliser we'd of gone on & won that game. 😡 fecking officials

  15. Well I thought we were good today, not great but good the stats back that up 62% possession, was it 14 attempts at goal, we've had 3 big chances in that game Beundia strike, great save, Watkins header & Mings from Dougie freekick, 3 weeks ago those chances were going in, in my eyes that's a stone wal penalty also his arm was away & horizontal from his body in an unnatural position. Glad to see Carlos back, that crossfield ball late on in the game was outrageous. But what today does shine a light on is our forward players, get Watkins on a new Contract & also go out & get another top striker, we also need 2 new wide/wingers & I'm sure we will address that in the summer. Been a great effort to even get this close to Europe considering where we were, so onwards & upwards, bring on next season & bring on the summer transfer window.

  16. One of the highest fees ever paid for a footballer & I've had yo go 3 pages back to find him 🤦‍♂️ anyhows been back in training since Monday so should seem him back on the bench tomorrow 💪

  17. Our fight for Europe is with Spurs & it will be for the conference league, Brighton have 2 games in hand & 2 very favourable fixtures in Everton & Southampton I think at home. & to be honest Brighton deserve the Europa league at the very least, outstanding season

To be fair, tidying up the mess at Barcelona was like tidying up the radioactive rubble at Chernobyl, requiring extremely calculated movements and they trusted him with that... and he did what they asked him to do.

He was brilliant at Valencia, a club tied up in a massive financial and bureaucratic nightmare (despite having a rich owner). They'd have been in the situation they're currently in - fighting relegation - a few years ago if it wasn't for him steadying the ship for a while.

He had nothing to do with either of these club's issues.

    Real Madrid wanted him.

He was exceptional at Mallorca, delivering many players who would go on to become huge stars elsewhere, making the club a lot of money in the process. The club's charman stepped aside because he believed Alemany would do a better job and to prevent him from leaving for Madrid. He believed in him that much.

The man's record speaks for itself. Nothing but success and remedying complicated scenarios. I'm not calling him the 2nd coming, but I'm not completely sure why anybody would be questioning this appointment.

Great Post & you question people questioning this appointment 🤣 you do know this is Villatalk 🤣

Jude Bellingham is 19. We can expect more than what Duran has shown so far especially for that amount of money.

Jude has played top flight football for more than 2 years now & is a regular in the England team & is worth in the region of £150 million, we have Duran who has come from the States as a prospect & cost £18 million, in my eyes you can't compare the two.

  20. It's a straight fight for 6th & 7th & between 3 teams, us Brighton & Spurs, so one will miss out & the good thing is we have to play them both & with hopefully a couple players back next week will massively help, this is going to the last game of season, which ever way it falls for us it has been a monumental effort from everybody at the club especially Unai Emery 🙌 been amazing watching this team evolve into the team it is today 👏👏👏 & can't wait till the summer window & next season where we all know we're going to be gunning for Europe again.
