Don’t think we are even in the mix here. Just a lazy link I suspect. We won’t see most of our signings coming, just like normal under this ownership.
We triggered his release clause in January so we could speak to him, he wanted to stay then, nothing lazy about this link, definitely interested in this player wether he comes or not is another story but it won't be for a want of trying to get him on Villa's part. Be over the moon if we get him in, for me one of the most exciting links that has some substance behind it.

Just had to pull over in my van & take a moment. Just heard Danny Murphy on Talkshite say Aston villa under Unai Emery have been nothing short of sensational & praised Mings.

It's all well and good being linked with these obscure players but has anyone actually seen him play?!
Get on YouTube 1 or 2 decent video's looks like he has ability

I'm doubtful even with Emery's magic that Coutinho can cut it at this level now. He looks finished.
As for Messi*, he would probably slot in behind Ollie, he would also be one of the first names on the team sheet imo, alongside Martinez.
*on the basis he signed for us.
I was being humorous like what this thread is, as if anybody would turn Messi down at this club even for just 1 season, be a no brainer if he was affordable. But this is never going to happen & this thread needs to close as some people on here believe there maybe a chance it could happen

Still think Emery can get a tune out of Coutinho next season & Beundia as back up, not sure where he fits in, may help us in Europe tho, so on the fence with this one

Couple of tricky play off games there - Bilbao in particular.
Are we allowed to play in the same competition as Vitoria?
Not if they lose Nico Williams

Yeah agreed is it a €17 million release clause, I've read somewhere

Looks a player, very high energy would improve us going forward & the marketing on this play has huge potential.

1) is that gross or net weekly because I know some European leagues detail salaries as net so you would need to gross it up
2) on a free transfer and to move to a lower level club he’d want to be at least one of our highest earners. Free transfers can command much bigger salaries and huge signing on fees. Therefore whatever the case he’ll be one our biggest total contracts.
Not sure if before tax ... just got the info from this site

Also his wages whilst at Real Madrid have been $60,000 a week 1st 2 years & then it decreased to now being on €45,000 week. So we wouldn't be breaking our salary budget for him.

It's like I said in the Tranfer thread, reminds me abit of Dougie, puts his foot in, tidy on the ball, good passing range, this guy isn't replacing Beundia, he ain't even a Number 10 type player, his stats say that. If he is being brought in as a squad option for our midfield so when we do rotate there is no disruption regards the way we play, then this is a very good option to have & he is free & has bags of experience in European football, basically we're not breaking the bank for him, should be on sensible wages.

Hopefully we can bring him in.
If we managed to get Ugarte and Pau Torres that would be huge.
I wouldn't of thought we'd spend the bulk of our transfer kitty or half of it (who knows how much we have to spend) on those 2. don't get me wrong love both at our club, but think will be going more attacking player upgrades, striker, winger & a number 10 maybe, what would Torres & Ugarte cost £80 million for both maybe & i do feel weve been very good defensively, so is there a rush to upgrade. get the feeling we're going to work that on a free market again this season

Can anyone in the know of La Liga give us a run down on Ceballos then?
Type of player, strengths, weaknesses etc?
You mean you haven’t looked at his highlights real on YouTube yet ? Shame on you

Interesting he was on loan at Arsenal 2019-21 was that under Emery ? Maybe that's the link .... or a lazy link

No idea on the link mate, and I can’t say I’ve seen much of him, but one report I’ve just read suggested he’d be competition for Buendia, so more of an attacking midfielder maybe?
Interesting Beundia, think he has more in his locker defensively, but defo has ability on the ball that's why I said Dougie. Maybe right more an attacking midfielder as that's where we needcto strengthen

I don't think he is going anywhere in the summer think Emery will be happy with what he has at leftback. 2 very different style fullbacks which Emery can utilise depending on each team we play ..... although if a stupid offer came in for Digne like it did for Ings then I think we'd except, not sure who will offer him the £160,000 a week that he is on with us, but yep solid enough for Emery to work with specially if we get European football.

Interesting link does anybody know if he is credible? If this is true he is a very tidy player, very similar to Dougie in my eyes.

It's amazing isn't it that we as a club are craving for any kind of European football & it looks like conference league, but you go across to the Spurs furoms they want nothing to do with it, some of them were turning there noses up for the Europa league, can't stand the entitled buch of pricks & the thing is I know they've tasted champions league but we're the bigger club with history & trophies, because they have this shiny new stadium they feel there owed something, there a complete mess & when Kane leaves there going to be in a even bigger pickle, specially when you see us Brighton & Newcastle moving in amongst there so called sky 6.
