It's ridiculous anyway. No side just goes and wins every game in a season.
People just don't want a rollercoaster anymore. WIN AT ALL COSTS PLZ.
yeah, I agree, not to mention we are only a year into Don Unaiversity

Been saying this from the start of this season, throwing toys out of the pram after individual results is a fools game as 'upsets' are happening multiple times a week

We’ve been crap for weeks and Spurs have overtaken us. We’re still in the race but we’re going to have to significantly improve to get back to 4th and maintain it.
No disagreement here
may have briefly overtaken us yes, however people are making out like that have been playing like Man City

This is a bit of an oversimplification of Spurs problems.
Ange hasn’t developed a second gear for Spurs to fall back on when they have a lead. There’s no reason for the match to be so open when they’re leading but even 1 or 2 up, they’re still flooding forward.
And high line Villa have a way better xGA than SpursBielsa 2.0

Spurs are closer to an elite side than Everton.
And we are on a Aston Villa forum, my point was more about people desperate to anoint spurs 4th place whilst getting outplayed by Everton

It doesn’t change my assessment. Everton are a bad team because they can’t finish their chances. They are rightfully at the bottom of the table. Spurs are a good team because they make the most of their attacks. They are rightfully in the top 4.
Almost every spurs game is a basketball match though, elite football is about control

The flip side is that spurs concede a lot of xGA, as per todays game, which isn’t sustainable.
There’s two goals on the pitch

If we end up Drawing Sheffield again, I'll start to worry Emery maybe running out of ideas, although I guess Pau and Digne are huge misses.
We need a good win, up the GD too.
They were very open against West Ham, they will be aiming for 3 points at home so I don't think they will park the bus again

Is Brainthwaites dad the Jolly Green Giant?

As per the stats I posted, this is the least Everton deserve

Are spurs still world beaters then, I'm confused

They are bad in front of goal because they are not very good. Spurs take their chances because they are a good team.
you were saying?
Deep and insightful as always from this forum

This lack of control is unsustainable long term if you want to win things.
We are experiencing some growing pains as we learn to play against a low block but I think long term we are doing the right thing.

If it was lightly touching the keeper it probably wouldn’t have been disallowed. He had hold of the keeper stopping him jump for the cross.
Can’t believe people are still salty about it
I think if there wasn't a backdrop of massive inconsistency with regards to decision making, people would be a lot more accepting of it tbf

Not that I want the Everton goal ruled out, but what was the difference in that and the goal we had disallowed v Sheff Utd when Ramsey touched the keeper on the arm?
PGMOL would argue that Ramsey 'grabbed' Foderingham is my guess, not that I disagree with your underlying point

Anyone who is actually watching the game would have seen that Spurs have had very little control of this game since their goal (as is the case in most of their games), that Everton goal is no surprise.

I can see why teams would approach us about Ramsey given our sale of other home grown talents and they'd test the waters there. However we know that's not a sale going to happen
I thought Ornstein was better than clickbaity headlines but the article pretty much states that a sale is unlikely

Emery deserves our trust but that should not mean we can’t form our own opinions. From the times Ive seen him, to the comparisons with JPB (including the asking price), and the opinions of some Championship experts, it’s just not adding up for me.
also a bit perplexed why we did not use Finn Azaz as leverage to get this deal over the line.
‘I trust my wife but I’ve just put a tracker on her phone in case’
i trust that both our data analysts and lifelong football minds Monchi and Emery have done their research over people who have maybe glimpsed at this lad for 180 mins at most.

Problem is, if he has a good game tonight then Chelsea will bid £115m for him
