Different scenario though. Ours has the potential to be at least 55k, and we’ve been able to modernise each stand whenever we wanted. Everton weren’t able to do that, so their only option was to rebuild.

That was a joy to watch. Best I've seen Chrisene play, Kesler was excellent, but Ramsey was the star man for me tonight. Thought he was first class. Barry was quiet, but did excellently for one of Ramsey's goals, and thought Chukwuemeka was also quiet, but also managed to get an assist. Raikhy is a bit of an unsung hero, some of his pressing was great. The future looks very bright!

Chukwuemeka's actually been a bit quiet for his standard! Best I've seen Chrisene play - he reminds me of Bastoni with the way he plays. Ramsey has had a great game, our front three unable to really impact the game. I like Raikhy as well, he's come from nowhere the last few months it seems. Playing some really good stuff, just need to score!

I wonder how this talk of FFP being scrapped will affect our summer!

Didn’t realise he was a Cambridge boy like me! Apart from Darren Bent, can’t think of anyone else who has played for us from Cambs.

I'd be surprised if he got a single minute to be honest, but when he's essentially our only striker, it's not going to do him any harm at all getting to spend a few days training with Harry Kane.
This can only help, yeah. Remember when Grealish came back from his first camp and said how much he learned.

yeah lets go and sell a world class 26 year old and swap him for a 30 year old on a bazillions of wages...........
Mahrez is a great player, but not exactly what we need is he.....
How about we just dont sell Grealish and build a proper team!
I agree that we should never sell Grealish. I disagree that Mahrez is not exactly what we need, I'd say he's exactly what we need. A world class (or not far off) right inside forward. I really like Bert, but Mahrez on the right would be incredible. It won't happen, of course.

He's been excellent recently, not his day on Friday. Joelinton is actually a decent player, he's just a shocking finisher.

Yes, he’s just short of a little form right now, and possibly p***ed off he’s not allowed to join up with Brazil due to Covid. He was immense after Project Restart right through to the outbreak at BH.
If that hadn’t happened I reckon we’d be 4th or 5th right now.
I think all South American international matches for later this month were cancelled.

The several times I’ve seen him for the u23s he’s been a standout. We really should do a lot to try and keep him, whilst also not getting in to a Hudson-Odoi situation at Chelsea. We don’t want to set a precedent where kids are asking for £15k per week plus. He’s a very big talent though, and it would be shite to lose him.

The dream would be for him to get first team football on loan for the rest of the season, do great, and then replace Elmo as our backup right back.

Assuming there is zero chance of highlights?

There’s a chance that the bid AVB is talking about might have been an initial offer from a week or two ago, which was derisory, and rejected etc, and that our most recent offer(s) are close to being accepted. Could be that there’s a lost in translation element to what he said, and that he was referring to a much earlier bid. Who knows. Either way, hope we get this over the line as quick as possible.

As a side note I often get asked why I sit in the north stand, well look at how wonderful the Holte looks. It's even more sensational when it's full and we're winning. The north stand is a depressing uninspired sight.
Hopefully the players haven't been too fatigued by the outbreak and they'll be fit and raring to go.
You’re the Guy de Maupassant of Villa Park.

Never seen him play, but he looks like the kind of player we want. There were many who wanted an old school defensive midfielder (such as Billing), and I was one of them. This seems to be the best of both worlds, a player who is very good defensively, but is also decent with the ball.
Anything for less than £15m would seem like a good deal here.

Yeah I go there. It is pretty packed, they have proper glasses. Pretty sure they have real ale, but I’m a cider drinker so don’t look out for it. And the interior is still sound. Whether they’ll survive through Covid, I’ve no idea.

I imagine Kalinic’s space in the squad goes to Wesley. So unless we shift another player, we won’t bring anyone in.

He’s well past his best, on huge wages, is a horrible bastard on the pitch. Everything against what we stand for, and are aiming to be as a club.

If this is true, we should definitely act. Could perhaps even let him stay at Reading for the rest of the season on loan.

He’s an absolute prick. Definite no from me.

I agree entirely. The two/three games Konsa missed couldn’t have been better timed - Dyche, Allardyce and Hodgson.

I think he’ll make an excellent manager one day. What a guy.

De Paul and Buendia would be the dream. Even if we signed no one else, I'd rate that as an excellent window.
