  1. The thing that would make him a decent signing this summer, would be his ability to play up front, which is where he’s made most of his starts this season. But, should only sign to be a backup, not as a starter. £10m or less would be grand.

  2. Brooks is average, like Cantwell. We really need to think higher than that. Buendia is different class. Not seen enough of Olive, but would be happy with him. Not sure if anyone else will tackle our fancy from the Championship.

  3. 2 hours ago, TRO said:

I think they will still struggle like they did before, unless they beef up their defence....I don't think they have learn't much.

You cannot concede goals in the prem without consequence....clean sheets are like gold dust....something to build on.

I will revisit that as they have conceded 36 goals this season as opposed to 57 in 2018/19....so perhaps i have that wrong, maybe they have learned.

I meant the place, not the club. Sorry for the confusion!

  4. Depends on who we can attract on the left or at 10. Jack is world class in both positions, so it depends on who we can attract.

I have my heart set on Jack, Buendia and de Arrascaeta behind Watkins. And I won’t have it any other way.

  5. I think, like many things, the true position is in the middle of most people’s opinions.

He has been a good signing for the price, and far exceeded my expectations based on the Lyon and Ajax fans in the summer.

Conversely, if we do have ambitions to get in to the top 6, this is a position that we would need an improvement in. Perhaps not on ability, but certainly consistency.

And to end this, I will finish by saying that this guy has given us some of our best moments in a Villa shirt for a long time. He has been exhilarating, frustrating, infuriating, mesmerising all in equal measure. I’d take a Traore over a Snodgrass any day of the week.

  6. What a guy. He makes most saves look easy, so it doesn’t look as though he’s made many “worldies” this season, but how refreshing. Incredible bloke.

Premier League signing of the season for me. I’m sure all the pundits will say it’s Ruben Dias, but the impact Emi has had on us is greater, especially considering the cost.

Why Arsenal let him go is the biggest mystery since how Morrissey turned out to be a massive bellend.
