    He hasn't yet.

Also he played 1000 minutes last season. It's a bad suggestion. Not as bad as Tammy tbf. But I just don't like the suggestion. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tammy a bad suggestion....behave.  You are happy going into the season with Wesley as our backup striker after last week? 😐

CHO stats are excellent, can score and create chances, still young and can improve.  Maybe some question marks regarding consistency etc.

Yes he only had 1,000 minutes last season hence the reason he is for sale but he still got 5 goal involvements in that time and 2 more in the champions league.

He is a good a shout as the other options being talked about in my opinion like David Brooks, Todd Cantwell and Dwight McNeil.

If we sign Leon Bailey, no. I’ll give you one thing, it’s definitely a less silly shout than Tammy.

We will never play 4-4-2 consistently and he will never play as a left winger. He also wouldn’t go to a club as rotation.

It’s CHO by the way, unless this Callum Hudson-Doi is a better player?

It would be CHO Buendia Bailey behind Watkins/Tammy?  No?

    What?

I'm deluded because I don't want to spend 75% of the Jack money on

    - A CAM who barely plays and earns similar to Jack money. Has never lived up to his potential and isnt on any sort of upward trajectory

    - a backup striker.

I'm not deluded I just think that neither of those improves our XI and wastes a shit tonne of the money we get for Jack and need to use to improve our XI.

Some people are deluded that because a player wears a jersey from the Big 6 that they're suddenly worth their weight in gold.

Mate you are clueless.  CHO is 20 ' not lived up to the hype' 😂

So that’s the choice then, Messi or about 500k wages and 75m on players who wouldn’t start?

CHO would not start?  He averaged 5 shot creating actions per game last season El Ghazi was about 2.5/ Trez was 2.  He would be a big improvement on what we have and is available.

Tammy would be a great rotation option with Ollie playing in the LF position sometimes, he is a very good player, and is available.

Hudson-Odoi won't joining us, he's on either £120,000 or £180,000 a week depending on which reports you read around the time he signed his new contract.

Yeah probably the main reason he has not moved despite being surplus to requirements.  Would need to do a deal on the wages as well maybe capping at £100k with Chelsea paying the rest but his attacking output is not far off Jacks and he is still only 20 plus he can play on both wings.

  6. It will be an incredibly hard decision for him.

On the one hand, he has almost single handedly dragged us back from the abyss to the point where we now genuinely have a chance of getting into Europe and/or winning a cup.  He has dreamed of lifting a trophy for Villa since he was 6 years old and joined the club.   There is no doubt he would stay and try and get us to the top if he was 2-3 years younger.

On the other hand, joining Man City will see him play for arguably the best manager of all time alongside his favorite player KDB and will be competing for a premier league trophy and champions league from day one.  As a player this is the absolute pinnacle and he will probably not get the chance to win either if he stays at Villa.  You just wonder if it will all feel a bit empty lifting trophies as a squad player for a team he has no affiliation with and for fans who will never love him like we do.

If he decides to take the opportunity and leave, it will be very tough for all Villa fans but I have no doubt we will invest the money well and it won't derail the project.  Let's not turn bitter and let's appreciate him for what he did leading us out of the championship and keeping us in the premier league long enough to get reestablished.

  7. Southgate is still trying to find his best side.  As well as Jack, he has tried Saka, Foden, Rashford and now Sancho along with nailed on starters Sterling and Kane.   There is just so much competition and Southgate views Jack as a bit of luxury player I think and to be fair his pressing is not great.

If we are losing in either the semi or final and we are struggling to break them down, he will bring him on at 60 mins to save the day.  I can see it now, Italy 1-0 up and parking the bus, Grealish comes on at 60 minutes in the final, goal and an assist and we win the Euros!

With the amount of free kicks jack wins, JWP would be in double figures just on free kick goals.

it's a massive stretch. He's "one of their own" and will see us as their competition for "best of the rest".

As with VVD they'd hold us for at least 60m. Just not going to happen imo.

You can see the logic.  Imagine defenders having to worry about Jack and Buendia turning them inside out AND giving away a freekick to JWP on the edge of the area.

I mean Norwich fans are being a little tunnel visioned.

Arsenal probably low balled them and offered to pay £25m over 3 years. We've probably rocked up with a briefcase of £33m.

So would they still rather take the Arsenal offer?

I also think getting this done ASAP before he gets his first Arg cap is good business as we can say it's another player that's got a international call up being a Villa player.

I think that was the key.  We could literally wire them £35m cash this week.  Arsenal would still be paying it in 2025.

Maybe he has also been told of the rest of our transfer plans this window....

Where does he play? Other than being a midfielder of an attacking type I don’t know anything about him.

He is AMR or CAM, could probably play 8 as well.

Key strengths are dribbling (he is not far off Jack), key passes, through balls and scores goals from midfield as well.  He is also very good pressing and has better defensive stats than most of our central midfielders.  Him and Ollie pressing will work really well.  He is a top signing for us and my number 1 (realistic) target.

  11. Buendia is supposed to be Ross Barkley's replacement.  The reason why he is so sought after is because his defensive numbers are also excellent so you don't sacrifice so much by having him in the team.

We also tried to sign Sanson last season.. didn't happen.

However, in January he was available for a cheaper price. So, should we send him back, based on your philosophy?

We have some real narrow minded, negative fans.

Mate its not negative, he is rubbish.  El Gazhi and Traore are both better than him.  When we survived by the skin of our teeth he was the sort of level we were at.  We are now credible top 6 contenders and need players to push us on, not relegated Bundesliga players with 3 goals last season.  Maybe people just don't follow much football outside of Villa but Milot Rashida is not on any decent teams transfer target list.

  13. Where has the Rashica talk come from?  We tried to sign him last year, he had a poor season and we are now better than him.  Buendia, McNeil and Tammy I can see, really doubt we will be looking at Rashica again.

  14. I think he is getting better and better, very good goal+assist per 90 return for his first season and he has produced some absolutely ridiculous skills.  I think with a full pre-season he will be like a new top signing next season as he adjusts fully to the pace of the league and works on consistency.

  15. It's wrong to write off Watkins saying he is not good enough to compete at the top end of the table.  His non-penalty xG is 7.5 or 0.6 per 90.  As good as any striker in the league.  He is getting into the right positions he has just been unlucky with 2 or 3? very close VAR decisions, a wonder save from De Gea and a few that have hit the post he could easily have 10 goals so far this season.  To put things in context Rashford has a npXG of 0.41 per 90 and 7 goals and is considered to be having a good season.  Kane is 0.4, Vardy 0.4 Tammy 0.58 (also on 6 goals btw).

Watkins, if anything has proven he can be a top premier league striker and will get 15 goals or more in his first season plus maybe 5 assists.  Wesley will be back soon to provide some competition.

If we strengthen we need a CM/DCM to provide competition/cover for McGinn/Luiz.  Hourihane and Nakamba are not good enough and should be sold.

I would also be in for Buendia if he can be bought for <25m and I would sell Trez.

A young LB would also be good to provide cover for Targett who is playing very well.  I would also get a young CB to provide some more depth and sell Engels.
