  1. Surely those "Tanzanians" are 99% bots being controlled by the other 1%? There's no way 31,000 individual people have unfollowed avfcofficial as a result of the move, and yet the followers count has gone down from 915,000 to 884,000 as a result of this absurd "campaign".

Newcastle are linked with Arkadiusz Milik, so there striking options will be better than ours. We really need another striker, even on loan.

In terms of CB's, which I also think we need, I can't believe West Ham are spending £33m (inc. add-ons) for Fofana. Very untested at the top level. Might be a coup, but a big risk for them.

He was alright in the Six Nations

Honestly, Werder can get to f*ck at this point, what a waste of time and energy (including theirs) trying to get a deal over the line on their apparently very strict terms.

It's a bit like Brentford with Benrahma for me - totally daft to leave a player out of your squad in preparation for a move on the one hand, while being unwilling to compromise with the bidding club/s on the other.

As a short term principle - when a deal is very close - it makes perfect sense. Keep the player injury-free and start transitioning the squad, introducing his replacement etc. If a deal isn't close or you're not happy with the inquiries/offers then you're only affecting his match fitness and future value, as well as sending out a message that you want rid of him - which surely is no way to strongarm another club into paying more than they're willing.

There were two people running for the ball side by side.  Watkins put his arm across the defender first pulling on his left arm to gain traction.   The defender tried pulled his arm then moved onto his chest.  This was not a clear goal scoring opportunity.

im sure you’ll disagree, and you will provide your reasons.  But Paul Ince, Steve McManaman and Dermott Gallagher on DAZN all agreed it was extremely harsh, and actually believed that the first foul was committed by Watkins.

i wouldn’t go that far, but a yellow and a foul would have been a fair call, and NOONE would have blinked an eyelid.

Side by side? Behave. Watkins spots the long ball before Egan and is quicker off the mark. He's half a yard in front when the wrestling starts, and would have been on to the ball for a clear goal-scoring opportunity if he hadn't been held back by both an arm across and Egan having a handful of his shirt, both from behind. Ollie's arm  doesn't come out until after Egan takes a hold of his shirt. What's he supposed to do? He has two options there - either he stays on his feet and tries to fend off Egan so he can get to the ball, or he chooses to go down. He's chosen the high road but was clearly fouled, preventing him from reaching the ball.

    It's preventing a clear goal-scoring opportunity, so it's a red.

    Inject it.

Chris Wilder reminds me of that one friend we all have who has opinions that some might find objectionable, but manages to fly under the radar because he phrases everything in such an overly amiable way. You can't sit there and criticize multiple referees over multiple games and say "I think they all know I respect them and I'm well liked in the game [so I can now slate them all with inpunity]..."

What a bollocks and disingenuous way to present your view. If you think they've been crap and disagree with them, have some balls and just say it without the slightly sycophantic arse-covering.

Also, if he's confused about the red card tonight, someone needs to send him a rule book. Egan gave the ref no choice. He was the last defender, had a handful of Ollie's shirt and an arm around him too. If he'd gone to ground nobody could have had any complaints but because he didn't there's some sort of question over it. Credit to Watkins for not making a meal of it, frankly - all he wanted was the ball.

  6. Although I didn't think we were great by any stretch of the imagination, I don't really understand all the negative reaction. Sheffield United are characteristically very hard to break down even when they're more open, looking for the win with 11 men, so naturally an early sending off was going to make them very hard to crack. There's been plenty of evidence to suggest that we are poor in unlocking a highly defensive tactic, and whilst that's something that we'll have to work on, it's also not representative of the majority scenario for the rest of our season. We will primarily be dealing with teams who give as good as they get, and perhaps better more often than not, going forward. So training will generally be focused on scenarios where we're up against it.

Ultimately we got the 3 points and Martínez and Cash both looked good, so lots to be positive about.
