Very well said. That totally cuts to the core issue: What is the purpose of rules? How can these negligible, microscopic after-the-fact determinations about lines on screens really have anything to do with protecting against some practical disadvantages on the pitch?

Thank you. I said similar to a group of friends and was met with "But offside is offside" and "It'll always be a case of millimetres".

The collective brainwashing is really strange. Up to a few years ago when VAR came in, that wasn't the case re: offsides. Bad decisions were being made, but they were being made because in real time it was near impossible for the human eye to pick up a few millimetres, or even centimetres, here or there.

Now we've gone to the other extreme and we are literally measuring with a digital ruler. This is no better than the problem it was designed to fix, and IMO it has made things considerably worse.

You understand that the FA Cup and the Europa Conference League are competitions overseen by completely differently organisations that have their separate rules agreed and published at the start of the season, yeah?

    I do. Thanks for checking.

Now please go ahead - make your reasoned defence for a player receiving 2 yellow cards in the same round of a knock-out tournament and not being suspended in the next round.

    I'll wait.

They just said in the studio that the FA have said Onana isn't going to missing the final, even though he got booked twice, as the rules are different... 🤣

They're all just making it up on the spot now.

Might as well hand the trophies to who they want before the competitions even start.

    What's the point anymore?

I've no love at all for Coventry and the thought of them in a major cup final makes me a little uncomfortable, but I'd have them over that shower of cheating goblins any day of the week, and it sickens me that all the efforts and endeavour of a smaller team who played full of heart and love for the game is undone by some cynical rule-twisting by the powers that be.

Who've now decided that yellow cards don't have the same impact as they do in Europe.

Great work, you **** spineless, arrogant, cowardly, corrupt AND inept bunch of wankstains.

I hate it. Can’t celebrate anything.

PGMOL and VAR have conspired to make a mockery of the offside rule.

Even if you could make an argument that he was clearly offside (which would take a United fan or a PGMOL employee, but those are the same thing anyway), surely the whole basis of the offside rule is that an attacking player shouldn't have an advantage over a defender when the ball is played.

Please tell me how an attacker turned away from goal has an advantage over a defender facing the goal at full pelt?

It's a total joke. Drawing lines (which doesn't work anyway, as anyone can see from that image) is not what the rule is **** for.

    The **** goblins.

All this talk of improving our badge and branding and we send Martinez out wearing a shirt that has the lion upside down... How does that happen, and how does it make it not just onto any replica shirt, but one we're sending a player out to wear in the Premier League.

    **** hell, Castore.

    Undeniably Heck's fault.

The players look fresher than they did against Lille.

It's quite obvious we only played in 3rd gear on Thurs night.

I still think some of them are tiring. We really need the likes of Zaniolo and Moreno to come back without recurrence or fatigue for May or we will play our last games with nothing in the tank.

At this stage of the season, not beating teams who have nothing to play for feels like a slap in the face doesnt it? Why cant they just do the right thing and down tools for us?

Made this point earlier but West Ham were like worldbeaters playing us. Today despite still having Europe to play for, they have laid down for Palace, who truly have nothing to play for, to run them over.

It's so **** infuriating that we never get any easy games.

No Bailey is. Brilliant ball to Rogers put the ball on a plate for diaby earlier. Played 3 successful through balls into the box

Think they've both been great and come through for us where the likes of Diaby and Zaniolo have flattered to deceive at times, but happier with Diaby's workrate in the run up to that goal.

Ollie very quiet so far this game, hope he comes to life soon, he must be **** exhausted though.
